First, Hi SaTima-78, welcome to the Kaidan thread.
Also I'd have to agree I think Ash looks the best out of the three in that picture.

Oh & Mineralica the group where we are just posting all the songs people have suggested is in The *Not taking itself too seriously* Kaidan Alenko, Anything goes... group.


Just as a way to neatly organize all the songs in one place that is viewable to everyone, besides me & my word document. I will be making a Shenko playlist on youtube soon so everyone will be able to take what they want & add it to their own list or use it all! So suggest away!

I use this to justify why Shepard never wrote back to Kaidan.

Oh god. I want this sung by Raphael Sbarge and Jennifer Hale. And change the melody to something Celldweller- or Blue Stahli-like (then it would be more Mass Effect-y).

Oh, to throw in my two cents, I kinda like Believe - Celldweller

It's a little... harsh and has a Renegade-Shep touch but the music fits soooo bloody good into the ME-verse = D

hehe I can imagine them singing that together, they definetly should! I think Good To You - Marianas Trench with Jessica Lee  suits the Shenko playlist perfectly just because, the words are so dead on. Also there a Canadian Band so I have 10x more love for them.

Also the song Believe - Celldweller does fit into a ME-verse really well! I could picture the song in a Mass effect fan video. Actually I think I watched a ME fan video with that band as there background music.

So, I finally got around to restarting my canon since I accidently erased her file and I hadn't realized how much I miss the ME1 crew. Especially Kaidan and Ash. I remember several posters commenting that Kaidan acts as their Shep's moral compass.  He does the same for Erin, so when I saw this I wanted to share (and I apologize in advance for the crappy 360 screenshot.)



Kaidan: That might've been a little extreme, Commander.
Erin: Just a little bump on the head. Let him sleep it off.
Kaidan: /facepalm

Kaidan can complain all he wants, she knows he actually loves it.

As a whole, I prefer the ME squaddies over the ones in ME2. I mean some of the ME2 squad-mates are nice enough but I think because of the lack of banter between squad-mates and the fact that non-romance conversations are so limited they seem very dull. No matter how annoying the elevators are, I would love to have them back if only for the banter. You could learn a lot about everyone by how they interacted with one another. I hope we get really good party banter like we have had in DA:O & DA2. And considering most of the ME3 squad-mates have know each other for so long now, you would think they would have something to say to each other at this point.

Gotta agree-- that was what was somewhat missing from ME2-- the friendly banter with everyone but I kind of can't help but feel that it was probably intentional with everyone keeping their own distance from each other in the second game. (The only banter I can think of is Tali and Garrus talking while taking the stairs in the citadel... cracks me up everytime thinking about "I have a shotgun.")

I'm hopeful that will be back for ME3 in some form.

I hear you girlfriend! I too did a non-modified male Shep playthrough for Vega and then to enjoy watching Kaidan discover his homosexuality

I did it once for my Jokermance Shepard but I couldn't do it either. So I just flirted with Kaidan up till Virmire(which I did last) & left him there after sending him with the Salarians.

Felt really bad! Though it made Virmire 10x more emotional, and angsty. It was also my Renegon ruthless/colonist Shep, so she took her anger out on everyone else after that, more so then usual.

But she also become one of my favorite Shepards just because she would always go for the badass renegade dialogue, but all her major decisions when it came down to it were paragon.
She better get joker in ME3 or  I'll feel sorry for anyone around her if she doesn't.

I just want them to announce he's going to be an LI, I think in my first PT of ME3 I'm more than likely going to use Kaidan and Vega as perma squadmates.

On new romances for Kaidan:  my guess would be that BW isn't going to release any info one way or another until at least very close to release date.  Because either answer they give is going to cause controversy. 

@Not romancing Kaidan--I can't do it as a femShep.  And if they made a DLC/patch for ME1 so that you could s/s romance, my mSheps couldn't resist him either.  He's just too...*happy sigh*
I am planning on leaving him on Virmire with my current mShep playthrough that's romancing Ash.    But I don't think I could do it more than once.  I likely will let Kaidan have the bomb scene.

And Jacob isn't that bad actually, if you give him a chance.  He's no Kaidan (of course).  But he's a really descent guy.  And he is the only character (apart from Liara in LotSB) that asks Shepard how she is holding up.  He really cares about her as a person.  Doing that romance with my Renegon Shepard gave me an appreciation for his character (esp since he's really too good for my Xenophobic Kitty Shepard).  Its very unfortunate that Shepard always sounds like she's looking to get laid when she goes into the armory to talk to Jacob regardless of the conversation.  But its really not Jacob's fault.

@Lulu:  I started playing my original character again in ME1 not too long ago and had not realized how much I had missed her.  Every time I go from playing ME2 to ME1 I feel like its a homecoming.  I like the ME1 characters so much more.  They seem like they care.
And the elevators don't bother me.  I like the squad dialogue in them and they are much preferable to the ME2 loading screens.  Makes it more immersive.  Besides, I crochet during them and some of the dialogue. 

Kia:  Good thought that the squadmates became tied to Shepard but not really to each other.  Never thought of that before.

@ZombieGeisha:  Yeah.  I am playing a character in ME2 now that I used the comic for and I REALLY miss the cameos--Gianna Parasini, Conrad Vernor, Shiala, etc.  Those little touches just make the story more personal.  Its really not the same as having played through ME1.

 I did a non-romance FemShep ONCE, and it's gonna stay that way. It was hard enough turning down Kaidan just that one time, I don't think I could do it again. So that FemShep will be used for any other LIs, I'll just import then tweak her appearance/class as needed. I mean, what's the point of playing a game if you're not going to do what you enjoy? (like romancing Kaidan, yaaaaaaaaaaay!)

I'm working through my first playthrough of ME2, and I have a couple more femSheps working through ME1 (for a total of four so far). I don't know if I can resist Kaidan on any of them, though I am making one of them with the express idea of romancing Thane in ME2 now. He's intriguing. Her original plan had been my old pal Garrus, but... well,that looks painful. And Jacob does look like a nice guy...Perhaps another run through for each of them. I think those femSheps need to be single, though - because for Shepard it's not been a long enough time to be over Kaidan, and so far none of them is the type to be unfaithful either. So far I've been treading extra-carefully so I don't accidentally wind up on the romance path with any ME2 squadmate, which is frustrating because outside of that there doesn't seem to be much conversation.

Dang, that's going to keep me busy .
