@Jen: We can still talk about it...
@Varric: You know, he's the fist dwarf I've ever liked. And I loved romancing Anders, but I would have liked a go at romancing Varric. I couldn't stop starring at the chest hair either.
I was going to say that my Shepard wouldn't be mad. Then I thought about Arrival and the beginning of my R&R fic. She is mad. It's not quite fair of her. But she's angry with the Alliance for throwing her to wolves after everything she did in ME1 and especially ME2 for them--even though they had disavowed her. And Kaidan so closely associated himself as the Alliance's posterboy...Caseshep wrote...
Umm, did anyone catch the beta video that was leaked?
MASS EFFECT 3 SPOILER ALERT.
It was with Sheploo, but it showed the first time he and Ash saw each other. If I remember correctly,
Ashley says, "Shepard!"
And Shepard says, "Ashley?"
Then, of course, he had to go, so he kind of brushed past her rudely. (!)
And Vega asks Ashley, "You know the Commander?"
To which Ashley responds, "I used to."
So something similar/exactly the same expected from Kaidan?
If so, that makes me kind of sad. My canon Shepard isn't mad at Kaidan, but it seems like BioWare purposely made Shep kind of mad at the VS. Sort of the cold-shoulder type thing...
Yeah. She's kinda mad at him--athough I think its more that she's hurt and it's coming out as anger.
Yes! I'd love to have Ash backNamiraWilhelm wrote...

There wasn't anything Kaidan related leaked besides a "Major Alenko" line, which in itself had to of been a bug since Ash was alive
The one that got virmired was rescued and has only just shown up, now we have both again. Yay!
*curls up in happy land*
@leaked Beta: I've bookmarked the location. But I haven't watched it. I like the info about ME3 and Kaidan that we are getting from Sbarge. But I really don't know how much I want and don't want to know. I really would like to go into the game relatively fresh, only knowing some key things at this point--specifically if there is the possibility of a happy ending with Kaidan or not. If not, I definitely need to know that in advance so that it doesn't KILL me at the end of the game.

Shepard passing Ashley didn't look like "brushed past rudely" to me. It was like "oh, okay, Murphy definitely couldn't allow me other chance to meet Ashley after Horizon than while being urgently pulled to defence committee". Maybe still upset from last talk with Anderson. Maybe surprised by Ashley's new look:devil:

Ahh they're neck and neck, Kaidan was winning by a single vote earlier now he's down by 4. Oh well, at least he's kicking her arse platonically.IsaacShep wrote...Keep voting BTW! social.bioware.com/3464872/polls/26210/
You've probably already thought of this Clara, but I had an idea for the workflow- do all the shading as you normally would on a seperate layer (monotone). Then just place all your text in general areas of shading (within all boundaries) and put the shadow layer on top as an overlay. I bet it'd look awsum.Clara Shepard wrote...
ok guys, I've been working on the
Kaidan outline a little bit, and I promised all of you that we would
take steps as I did it soooooo... what do you guys think so far?
the original
A little way in adding quotes
And so far I've gotten this
NOW
PLEASE, FOR ALL THAT IS KAIDAN, tell me what you thinkI need
second opinions whilst making this and if you guys think I'm making it
too plain or boring, tell me. And don't worry either, I will add more
detail after the bigger lettering is done.

Ashley's promotion is interesting because from NCO to a LT she had to go through officers academy. Basically college to tell you how to be an officer. Leadership skills, tactics, etc.
Though the jump from LT to Major in three years really is a....MAJOR thing (heheh) its not completely outlandish. Chakwas mentioned to Shepard in ME1 that Kaidan already had several special recommendations for his work. That could lead you to believe that despite being a biotic and with his health conditions, Kaidan is favored by the Alliance. Which makes sense consisting his personality of wanting to get the right and also being somewhat reserved about his personal life. He seems to very much be by the books kind of guy and of course is so loyal to the Alliance that he would turn down the woman he loved/best friend when Shepard asked him to join her. Military likes that. Adding to that fact he was part of the team that stopped Saren and that Shepard failed (in the eyes of the Alliance) to be the good little Spectre they wanted; its only natural that the Alliance would turn to the next best thing.

A little explanation about ranks and promotion, at least in the US Marines. You are reward ranks by doing good at your job, but you are also promoted if they need that rank filled. After the battle of the Citadel the Alliance lost a lot for personnel. If you listen to the news feeds in ME2 it explains there had been a surge of recruitment followed by a shortage. With less than 1% of the Earth's population enlisted in the Alliance, they are probably in desperate need of personnel and good officers to lead them.

I totally think you're so right. It makes very much sense if you actually think about this and Kaidan is a very good person that the Alliance really needs.

A number of videos are posted here: www.mediafire.com/?3hannhjigofl9
The "MEB-YouTube4" is the intro sequence everyone is talking about. It's way beta, many graphical textures are missing - but others are stunningly gorgeous. On the whole, it just rocked.
The 5 Parts videos include more of the escape to the Normandy with Anderson sequence, including Normandy's departure from Earth(in Part 1) - warning, that section is awesome and incredible in a way that few things are, but if you don't want to be emotionally spoiled, best avoid it.
The rest are much, much more of the Sur-Kesh mission, including squad interplay before the mission (Wrex, Garrus, Liara, Shepard) and lots of conversation with Mordin during the mission. These are filmed with a hand camera recording the screen, so the video quality is less than stellar. But still...rocks.
No more Kaidan info in them, but Anderson absolutely, definitely, positively calls him "Major Alenko" on the com. And in the context, I can't see any way he is referring to Kaidan's dad. He is definitely calling the VS on their way to the Normandy. It's obviously a bad dialogue insertion since Ashley is the VS in the sequence.

I found this link works. The one that shows the first 15mins of the game is MEB.FLV. In order for it to work you have to download http://www.flvplayer.com/ and when it asks you which file to watch find the file you downloaded and voila! you will be able to watch it. All the other videos I was able to see them through a QuickTime player, and Windows live movie maker.
EDIT: or just watch DevilYoko's link
