I always renegade Kaidan. Sadly, there are no flags that carry over to ME2 so I doubt that it'll have any kind of consequence in ME3.

Oh  Well that's a shame. There's some real potential there plot-wise but I guess it also just adds another variable that Bioware would have to work with. I'll just settle for them focusing that energy on perfecting some amazing dialouge.

I've always found it funny how my Shepards react on "Aliens are saints and jerks, just like us" - most paragons go "Yay, equality!" while most of renegades - "Yeah, everyone are f**king idiots". So no need in "renegading" - even renegades agree with default!Kaidan.

I haven't either, but I imagine that he would might be extremely vociferous about getting alien help. I wonder if it would strain the relationship between Shep and him. I can't see him going AWOL on Shep... but I've never renegaded him, so he's been pretty agreeable for me.

You're right.  I'm just paranoid and worried.    And I don't want to read other spoilers that I don't want to know.  So I can't go there either.  I have a friend that might be able to scout it out for me though.

@Chignon:  You ALWAYS renegade him?    Really? Why is that?  I did it once.  And I felt bad doing it.  I love how idealistic and...young he seems in ME1, despite his age.  I hated damaging that on purpose.

He's a lot more decisive and feisty in general. I also like that he seems to be more cynical towards the Council and its views.

The only thing I don't like about it is that Shepard has to say some pretty derisive lines about the Council races to renegade him.

I always tend to be too nicey-nicey with my LI's in games.  That's how I ended up missing all the good stuff with Carth the first time through KOTOR.

I'm gonna try to do it on this current playthrough, but yea it's mainly Shepard's lines that have me wincing and loading up old saves to redo the conversation. That side of Kaidan does sound interesting though, and with hopes maybe it will end up being implimented in ME3 somehow.

Maybe I'll just cover my ears and go "la la la" when Shepard starts talking...yea, that'll work

I've never done a Renegade Shep because I just don't know if I could "Deal With It" and never bothered to try to renegade Kaidan. (Too damn bad the clips on youtube don't have subs, so I guess I'll have to do it one of these days. XP)

All I know is "Go Team Milkway!"

All my renegades turn into renegons or paragades...can never fully play a renegade. Maybe if I make a maleShep I'll feel less guilty? I dunno

From the few convo's I've had so far with hardening Kaidan, it seems that he's really fixed on his point of view and isn't afraid to argue points with Shepard, which is just  I really hope he keeps that attitude in ME3, especially now as a much higher rank than her/him.

If he pulls rank in the bedroom I think I might die of squee-ness

Me, too! I was always high road/honorable with him, because I was afraid if I wasn't he'd get mad and I'd lose the romance... Once I found out otherwise it added a whole new dimension to him (not that I didn't already love him just from the first play through).

As to spoilers: Do. Not. Want. I'll have to exercise a lot of self-restraint though because I'm too curious for my own good.

However, I think in general BW has to be aware that endings that alienate their playerbase are not good for replayability or future sales. So even if I can't have faith they'd do the right thing for the right reason, I can believe they'd do the right thing because it also is better for their bottom line. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

That's what I'm doing. My Shepard is not a pure Renegade, but a Renegon. I just "headcanon" the lines.

Teasing Carth makes his romance way more fun!

Carth: I'd like to be forgiven. Forgive me?
PC: Oh I don't know, maybe I'll make you work for it.
Carth: Oh? I don't like the sound of that!

And then you can tell him you're only teasing or tell him you want a kiss, which he gets embarrassed about and kind of skates over.

I really think NOW would be a good time for Mr. Sbarge to put out another of his wonderful audioblogs/podcasts. Something new to focus on and to put a smile on all our faces.

I'm just as optimistic about Kaidan as I was two days ago and I read everything (although you can rest assured I will never breathe anything regarding any spoilers) . BioWare loves us fans, guys, and they would never punish us by making us miserable. Who knows what will be in the final game? It's still a mystery! I predict ME3 will be the most amazing, mind-blowing game to come from this company yet. <3 Can't wait for March...it's gonna be awesome.

I enjoyed renegaded Kaidan as much as hardened Alistair. It's nice to have the option to have them react to the PC in that way. Too bad reneKaidan doesn't import. I wonder if we will be able to do something similar with him in ME3? Probably not...I don't remember any such mechanics for DA2.

@Chylise Carth flirts and teases are so much fun! I still don't understand why so many people dislike that character.

Just one final FYI about posting in groups (whether public or private) discussing spoilers.... Be careful looking at your friends feed if you are trying to avoid stuff about ME3 because it shows those posts. I will try to post mine way down the page as well as put spoiler tags, just in case. People are usually thoughtful about such things but may not realize those posts are usually visible on live feed. Just don't want anyone to accidently see something they don't want to.

I am very unhappy with the spoilers, but this isn't the place to discuss them.  I already felt guilty enough after putting MAJOR in the thread title, but I figured there would be tons of threads discussing the promotion anyway.  If we can make this thread a place to talk without huge, plot related spoilers that might not even happen, it would be great.

I agree with all the above. I really like it here, and don't want to have to resort to avoiding the BSN, most particularly the Kaidan thread, due to spoilers. I managed to avoid major spoilers for ME2 while I was playing it and posting here, and I'd like to do the same again. 

Oh, and Happy Birthday to all the posters blowing the candles out today!

My renegade turned into a renegon also.  Mostly a xenophobic version of Shepard but very respectful of the Alliance brass and helpful to humans that are good citizens.

And I agree with the squee-fest if Kaidan pulls rank in the bedroom.  I like a man that knows what he wants.

Oh, Carth has THE MOST fun dialogue.  The double meanings that he doesn't intend and your character can tease him about.  Like him saying that he'd put you over his knee and you can ask if its a promise.  hehe

@Bekkel:  Yes.  We definitely need a Sbarge/Kaidan boost to help us get over this leak-angst.  Especially since Once Upon a Time didn't even have him in it yesterday.    But it was a very good story none-the-less.

Ahahaha, that's one of my favorites too. Pretty much after you get off of Dantooine his conversations are so fun. (Well, his second convo on Taris where he's giving you a nickname is fun too. )

It's too bad the female PC isn't canon, but... whatever. I'm content with headcanon.
