Well considering you can go back and re-do that conversation as many times as you want, I'd think that even if you chose the "I'd embrace you" option and flagged it, then after the dinner and fish feeding convo if you replay that convo and this time choose "I'd catch you" then the friendship relationship is flagged instead? At least, that's my opinion of it and how I get out of recieving any emails or further flirtations.

I think the flag was set during first activating of dialogue.

About players who would like to romance as many chars as they can: maybe BioWare will add new LI so the problem of choice won't bother such group of players?

Hehe, yes, Collider made a video of different characters in Shepard's role during the Jacob love scene.  They all have that awesome smirk when Jacob is taking off his shirt.

Then I put a mustache on Evil Twin!Kaiden, because all Evil Twins have mustaches.

I don't think flings would result in the same "dire" circumstances as actual relationships, especialy since Kelly won't feed your damn fish unless you "court" her. (and no e-mail post Sm should mean you are in a clear, seriously) I just think it would give the choices more depth if they are not just sweeped under a rug and ignored.

Wait...what the hell is the Samara almost-romance? I assume since she's Asari it's available to femSheps as well? Cause I'm always nice to Samara, and I remember this one kind of odd line in one the later conversations, and it's possible I usually respond favorably... Is there more to ?

Yeah, that would be nice, but again, if they made it no consequence to get back with Liara in LotSB, I fully expect no difference for the VS, otherwise some VS fans could call foul. I'm not saying that's what I want to happen at all, but it's what I think they will do. I think stressing over flags is needless worry, but that's just IMO.

You can try and persuade her to have a relationship with you but she doesnt cos of her oath.

Yeah I was nice to her too in my first couple of playthroughs with my uber paragon femShep.  Damn, I hope I don't need to go and replay those games, lol.  I pretty much ignored her after the first couple of playthroughs.    I personally don't care for the asari and if Shepard being curious flags a romance or attempted romance and stuffs up the Kaidan romance I will be seriously put out, lol.

I don;t have to worry about Kelly, never invited her up to my cabin and usually don't bother with fish, lol.

 Mass Effect's FB page just posted "Which two characters can use both Bio-Amps and Omni-Tools?" And I was like "KAIDAN! MIRANDA! YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Sentinels FTW! B)"


But then I remembered that LIARA of all people can use both, and she has Electronics and Overload, despite being a full adept. None of the other characters have special powers outside of their class (except Shepard's extra ability you can choose after beating the game once). That's always bothered me. Oh well, more proof that BioWare loves Liara the most. <_< /totally biased rant over

oh I'm not looking for the drama llama, on the contrary I hope the relationship drama is down to a minimum, but a mention would be nice also - with Samara its kinda hard to miss a romance attempt becasue you need to be as pushy with her as with Jacob and you almost kiss before she says her final no to you. and the option to start the convo is pretty obvious. don't remember it exactly (since I stopped talking to her after couple of playthroughs as well) but to me, it was hard to miss.

This. You can either say "You're a good friend" or "I want more" to Samara. Kind of obvious which is the romance attempt.

So if you don't think you flirted with Samara, you probably didn't. 

As for Kelly... well, after I beat the SM on Paragon Sheploo, if she can come up to the cabin, well... I'm not going to get her to feed FemShep-who-loves-Kaidan's fish. (Yes, I did pick the "friend" option with her.)

I know that feeding your fish can be a pain.  Kimbri went through several during the game.  But seriously why would you want to give Kelly permission to go into your cabin?  The girl creeps me.  She's definitely a Cerberus spy.  I don't trust her.  And I just know she's the reason that scale itch came onto the Normandy 2.

I may be in the minority, but I like Kelly. She and Samara (and FemShep of course) are the only female characters I actually like, instead of don't like (Liara and Jack), or feel apathetic about (everyone else).

Hmmmm... Kelly and the fish..... I just stopped buying fish tbh... I'm not flirting with someone to get them to feed my fish... If you can't look after your pets you shouldn't have them

Lmao, i agree. Her flirting is really creepy and awkward as well. The only time i've flirted with her is by accident.

Yeah she is a creeper. With out a doubt she is the kind of person who lurks about and listens to your conversations. I have just stopped talking to her altogether at this point except for her post Horizon chat about Kaidan. I also got a weird vibe from Liara and I don't know why. I think it's because, in my personal opinion (no offense to anyone who likes her, she just doesn't 'float my boat'. I know that are some Liara fans here) she is too clingy, which is a big no for me.
