ROFL....ohh that brings back memories of romancing Anders in DA2, especially in act 3 but the other way around.

My poor 2 Hawkes who romanced Anders and ran away with him. I really liked him but I wouldn't come near him with a 10 foot pool in RL.

The way I always read into it, is that Kaidan thinks Shepard is hitting on him and moves from there.  Because he only starts to show interest (outside of the Overlook) after Shepard answers his "do you get this friendly with everyone?" question.

Ugh, I remember trying to do my Single Shep without being a douche to Kaidan, and all the responses to his "Do you get this friendly with everyone" still sound like they're hitting on him. Even the Renegade one! Shep's like "Yes, to a degree... but I like some more than others *wink wink nudge nudge*"

*sigh* Apparently if you talk to someone in Bioware games, it means you really want to get them in bed, not just be friends! (yay logic! )

Really? I might have to go through again. All I remember is him telling the story about his biotics and Conatix, and since I wasn't playing Renegade, I was choosing neutral responses so she didn't appear interested in him. Hmmm... this warrants another ME1 playthrough!  (I still need to hit 60 anyways)

Nah, it's probably lines the writers actually use IRL.

Seriously though, I think about 90% of the flirt lines from any BioWare game (that I've played) are extemely corny, or downright facepalm worthy.

I love that line! <3 I mean, Hawke's flirt is still "Ehhhhh", but Sebastian's reaction is priceless.


Sort of like when first flirting with Fenris. "That seems to be a waste of a perfectly good elf", followed by Fenris' awkward laugh.

Hi guys. Usually never post just lurk but I thought I'd give my opinion. I don't think it is wise for the writers to change a character just for sex. I mean we love the character for who they are and how they are already written so why change them just for a roll in the hay? I mean their sexuality really should not matter. They were already established a certain way and imo it kinda takes away from what was already affirmed about them. I mean I totally think that the whole Anders thing was a total screw up but that is just my thinking. So I think they should keep everyone the way they were written so as not to take away from the character. And I know you have choices to play one way or another. But they should not fix something that is not broken. They should focus on what is already created and build on that. Besides Kaidan is such a great character why change him at all? Why change any of the characters? Just thought I'd throw that out there.

And it's very unlikely that we'll get the info before release unless it's leaked, so it's all just speculation and personal opinion right now. There are FAR more important issues surrounding Kaidan's role in ME3, as far as I'm concerned. 

I hope Kaidan's sexuality is like Ander's in DA2.  Playing as a chick I didn't even know he was bi, and having it like that would probably be best imo.

Okay, to skip the romance, without being a total dick:

In the FIRST dialogue, there should be a paraphrase of "Just be ready." You will get this exchange from it:

Shep: "I trust you won’t have any questions when whatever’s coming hits the fan?"
Kaidan: "None. I’m not questioning the mission. I’m just concerned. Sorry to have wasted your time, ma’am. It won’t happen again."

He should "Commander," you from then on, and you should be on the friendship path.

In context, at least with FemShep, it sounds professional and between two officers.  And it's not as snide as some of the other turn-downs.

There's also a way to duck out of the romance completely by romancing Liara first.  But then you're completely stuck with Liara.

I feel like writing a letter to Bioware informing them that, in the spectrum of relationships, there are shades of gray between 'rip off my clothes' and 'keep away I hate you, your face is just awful' and then how to elude to such emotions without being arrested for sexual harassment or ripping out someone's heart and eating it whole. Shep's romance skills need to improve greatly for the sanity of all who have to watch. But they are always good for a laugh.

Hi sakuragrrl, I agree somewhat with you and everybody being bi in DA2 did feel a little weird to me (yes yes I know thedas is not earth can make up their own sexual culture). But it all depends on how you see it, some people justify it as a different universe each playthrough and the LIs being only straight or gay depending on the player's gender/whether a romance is pursued. Personally I wouldn't mind at all if they managed to pull that off invisibly, but I suppose that would hurt the romance slightly. If you can accept that then it's not to hard to accept that they weren't romanceable in previous games but now are, just as Garrus as Tali are. I should warn you that nearly everyone supports "s/s romance" here, so I thought I'd give just give you all the commonarguments from a frindley face first .

Just recently I started playing ME for the seventh/eighth time. Everytime I play Kaidan gets better, at first I didn't think much of him but now I think he's a cool character. Also his voice is getting better, I like hearing it! Tough there is bad news, my friend scratched ME so I have to wait until he pays me back until I can romance Kaidan(I'm usually Maleshep.)

In three words what do you guys think of Kaidan?

Ditto, although I don't think femshep said anything about his face . There are also some romances I wouldn't initiate, but would happily go through with if they pursued.(yeah I'm weird like that)

The worst thing about Liara's romance is that one of Shep's response's bugged. He says "I'm not interested in you" yet it activates full-blown romance. You have to chose "I just want to be friends" in that moment instead of "I'm not interested in you" to terminate it. Still don't get why it wasn't fixed ina  patch, rather big error.
