No idea about Xbox and screenshots--if its possible.  I wish it were.

I never had a problem with Liara.  She gave Shepard a 2nd chance at life--to kill the Reapers, to continue with Kaidan.  The fact that her being entrusted to Cerberus was a side-result wasn't really her fault.  It was the only resource she had to give resurrection a long-shot.
And I guess we just don't know enough about what happened in the intervening 2 years between the characters to know if Liara would have felt comfortable contacting Kaidan about it.

With the inability to respond to e-mail, as much as not replying to Kaidan's bothered me, I think it is worse with Shepard's mom.  Why not vid mail?  I think that TIM was trying to keep her as isolated as possible.  i don't think he would have allowed that much personal contact--even with her mother.  Or especially with her mother.

I can understand unability to send from Normandy, but public terminals still exist, no? Or "Councilor Anderson, may I send a message from your terminal, please?". Looks like entire world kept Shepard isolated.

Hmhmmm, do you think Kaidan talked with Hannah Shepard after H-mission? I think he's the type of person who will do that. Would be interesting to hear what did they talk about and how Kaidan worded entire thing.

I think he might have.  He obviously stuggled with grief over losing her.  It wasn't just a one night thing to him (which I really respect).  Contacting her mother would seem like something that would be quite possible.
Some of the fanfics I've read have that he did and that she treated him with almost motherly affection.

In my emo dribble I had Hannah seek Kaidan out, but I think they would have had some sort of contact with each other at some point. I guess it depends how you play your Shepard, whether she was close to her mother or not and corresponded regularly.

It's not something they would put in comics because not all Shep backgrounds have a mother floating around. I haven't read the books or comics though so I really have no idea, lol.

I can't remember if Kaidan's mom is alive? Is she? I know he talks about his dad. I could see Kaidan talking with Hannah Shepard.
I always thought in my cannon Shep-Lia that there would be no way I would send out a message from Normandy just in case someone changed something I wrote. However, yea why not give a message to Anderson and say please give this to Kaidan. It was just BW trying to distance us from the VS.

We really have no idea about Kaidan's mother, the only time he mentions her is the sweater comment on Noveria but you can take it either way.

You know, now every time someone mentions "Kaidan" and "sweater" in the same sentence, all I can think of is the whole chest hair conversation. "Some fuzz is okay, but not a human sweater." And then I get unpleasant images in my head.

Totally random thought, just throwing that out there, carry on.

my canon shep doesn't have a family at least not of the blood related variety and not that she knows of.

I think the major reason they didn't make it a vid mail was because there's a great variety to what Shepard can look like and unless they decide to retcon Hannah into an adoptive mother, they couldn't have created a face that would look related to every possible Shepardface. DA2 is the first time when they tried something like that, having faces and skin colors of the family members change depending on preset/skincolor selection.

Which is why I doubt we'll see Hannah in ME2.  Too many variables *said in Mordin voice* lmao.   Even in ME1 you didn't have a vid conversation with her, just voice, if your Shep is spacer background.

What really annoyed me was that Shep could have a vid conversation with Hackett in ME2 with the Arrival dlc but before and after that point the vid on the Normandy was mysteriously broken, lol

Anyways I think the worst part of ME2 for me was that I hadn't read any Kaidan related spoilers, so the whole game I was waiting for him to come back to my Shep. =(

As to the whole mother thing, my Shep is a colonist kid so I don't have too much of an opinion on this, but I think it would fit that Kaidan at least talked to her after the funeral and they grieved together. However, I'm not sure how long it would last as both would remind each other of the person they had lost.

I think that just happened because if you have a custom shep then they cant really create her to look like your shep and then everyone would moan.

I agree with this practice. I know it was pretty jarring in DA:O to be the only dark colored one in the Human Noble origin. At least with the other origins you could pretend that you took after your missing parent, but for that one I just felt like the milkman's kid. I guess Bioware will either figure out a solution a la DA2 or MommaShep will remain a faceless voice for the rest of the series. 

Edit: Oh Batteries, I pointed that out in this very post for DA and it still didn't click for me that they could apply it to ME. I think that solves everything so long as we never see him and MommaShep casually mentions how much Shep reminds her of her/his father.

I was thinking the same thing.  If they were going to show Hannah Shepard, just give her a default look but have her skin tone changed depending on your Shepard's.

On the subject of parents, I'd like to see Kaidan's. I mean, they mentioned in ME1 that his dad retired to Vancouver... where ME3 starts off. Of course, seems like the devs forgot that fact. 


... and now I'm reminded of that fan comic where Kaidan's like "Where are the Collectors?" and Shepard replies "Your mom's house!" and the next panel was at Kaidan's house with his mom serving the Collectors tea.

I've created a spoiler for myself - don't know about other countries, but our local ME2 box edition had manual with list of voice actors printed in the end. So I was getting home with disc and looked through list: Main voices: Brandon Keener - check, Liz Sroka - check. Raphael Sbarge? Kimberly Brooks? Nowhere to be seen. Wait, in additional voices? No! Noooo!
