Hmmm, nicely done, but no dog tag is complete without a registry number or two ^^

I imagine it being on the opposite side (I have ran out of space :P )

edited - nyah, just a tiny topaz and a lab made sapphire.  they are actualy only 3 mm in diameter - the picture makes the tags look much bigger then they actualy are

and since I'm shamelessly self promoting already and this page needs a Kaidan

Is it unreasonable to hope there will be such moments in ME3 where we will get to stand with our Shepards and admire the beauty of the galaxy we are fighting to save? Preferably with Kaidan right next to us? Moments like that can't necessarily be scripted in, but I think they are almost more emotionally powerful than climactic story moments. Anyone know what I'm talking about or is this just something strange that goes on in my mind?

I do that, too. I've parked the Mako on craggy mountaintops, gotten out and stared up at alien starscapes many times. For some reason, I find it even more moving in space-oriented games than those in fantasy settings. There is something that can be breathtaking about it - and it would be all the better if there was a meaningful way to share it.

I did that in ME too...and clicked on Kaidan a million times just to hear his voice. I can't express how disappointed I was when they removed the ability to click on your party members in DA2 and ME2. :( That little feature made me feel more connected to them than clicking on random squares that say "Talk to character X" and have them voice a little blurb.  <_< I know they have done away with the clicking on companions feature forever, and that makes me a sad panda...especially since Bethesda removed some stuff from Skyrim (affecting attributes and leveling) that I really liked in Oblivion. Why does everything I like get stripped out of games?? :crying:

I'm going to play ME3 a hundred times to make up for all this forced separation from Kaidan.

EDIT: Leah, those look awesome. Now I'm imagining Kaidan wearing lots of sparkly bling!

Hi there Kaidanites. Thought I'd join the line of de-lurkers for Kaidan.

I'm pretty knew to Mass Effect, coming over from DA (Alistair & Fenris fan). It's mainly the eyes for me, followed closely by the melty voices :) and Kaidan satisfies both counts for me in ME.

-Passes round some high-energy Kaidan cookies-

I'm not too sure what my Miszi Shepard will say when she first meets up with Kaidan again, Miszi will probably be the awkward one now, Horizon kind of hit her like a sledgehammer and made her rethink how much things and people change over time. She still loves Kaidan and appreciated his letter but she likes resolution and hates loose ends, the whole Kaidan + letter thing is so open ended, it has her unsure, nervous and a wee bit scared of being too optimistic for their future, she is still faithful to him and can't imagine being with anyone else but I reckon he will have to be the one to make the "first move", her wee heart couldn't risk or take any form of rejection from him now Image IPB

I do, however know beyond a shadow of a doubt what she WON'T say this time around:

"It's been too long Kaidan, how have you been?"..................mega-cringeworthy! lol

You can just imagine Kaidan with the biggest face-palm ever, like "You didn't just ask me that AGAIN?, dammit Shepard".

What about things your Sheps wouldn't do or say on the first meeting?

Anyway, off to lurk some more, have a good day Image IPB

Edited for silly formatting errors - my bad -

Welcome!!!!  :D  Glad to meet you and it's great seeing more new members coming into the thread!! And you bring cookies? :o  This is wonderful!! *nomnomnom*
And oh god xD I would die if Shepard said that again!!  ...Then I'd send Jewel to assassinate the person who wrote that script... :bandit: *Continues to plot more diabolical schemes*

Edit: And what my Shep wouldn't do... I guess she would not say she's not sorry

Is this normal that I've been spending three days doing this? I mean, watching Aurora Borealis, or just enjoying the panorama... preferably from the top of iceberg. One particular track which seems to return from Morrowind and now serving as ambient theme drove me to tears couple of times.

What was I saying? Aha, enjoying the view with LI. I very, very hoped for that during Project Overlord; but with Hammerhead mechanics, it's impossible to do even with ME2 LIs. "Stop the hovertank, I'm going to swim near waterfall with Miranda!". Would like to see this moments in future game.

Screw the rules. It's Shepard's ship and Shepard's rules, lol. How many other Alliance ships have a strike team comprised of humans and aliens? So obviously the rules can be bent for Shepard. And if Kaidan even mentions fraternisation now that he has a higher rank, he's gonna get kicked in the daddy bags, lmao.

As far as I know spacer Shepard's parents are/were both Alliance but it doesn't seem like they served together once they hooked up. Dad is never mentioned so we don't even know if he is alive but Shep does mention that at one stage her mother was off on some mission and she didn't see much of her so I'm presuming she was with her father at that point. In my head canon, dad is a doctor, but don;t ask me why, lol. I'm assuming that there's no way the Alliance would let a husband/wife or lovers serve together and I think that was one of the reasons Kaidan was hesitant about breaking the fraternisation rules the night before Ilos.

LMAO xD oh god, yeah, if he pulled that on my Shep he'd get a biotic kick up the butt!!

Lol, since I live in Canada I don't have to play a game to see Aurora Borealis, there's some here almost every week now, and it's so beautiful  Just recently it was red and covered the sky  so you can imagine that I was a little freaked out to see a bright red sky in the night... and it moved aka "danced" a lot... it reminded me of the Oblivion gate world's sky

Whoohoo! Another fellow Canadian Kaidanite!Image IPB. I didn't know you were, Canadian I mean xD.
Anyway, I think only once have I seen an Aurora Borealis here (you have to go farther north to see them more often), it was deep sea green and hauntingly beautiful. I have just admired the views and music in games before, it's those little moments with our LI's that are important, they give the romance substance Image IPB, and I hope we get more of those moments with Kaidan in ME3Image IPB.

Yay, Canada!! And I guess it's the temperature that helps with seeing them, because it's been 3 years since I saw any and it's been damn cold this year   And I live in the countryside so that probably helps.  And yeah, I wish we get moments like that in ME3  it would complete the game for me

I was a little embarrassed by getting emotional over a game panorama, but since I'm not alone I feel better. Maybe it's just people with sensitive souls (overly emotional lol) that are affected that way?

Now I want a scene where Shepard goes skinny dipping with Kaidan during some downtime between killing things. :o Make it happen BioWare!!!!

Add me to the list of Skyrim crybabies. Well I guess I'm just a crybaby in general. Often music has much more powerful impact than sight, I doubt you'd have teared up with the sound muted. Maybe it's just me, or maybe you have a kick-arse PC and are seeing things vastly more beautiful than I.

I play on the 360, and I agree it was definitely the combo of visual and music. A sensory feast which wrings tears.

I have never left Kaidan; not even once.

I made one save with Ashley alive using the Genesis comic because there is no way I could ever leave Kaidan. (And after I made the Ash alive save, I have never continued that save because I found it too depressing, but I still have it available in case youtube doesn't satisy me with Ash vids.) It's what makes me so sad because I really love Ash too...but Kaidan is my Sheps soulmate. As Shepard says on Virmire: "I'm sorry, I had to make a choice." :(

^This.  So much this.

And I understand what you mean about the environments.  I'm still working on Oblivion before I buy Skyrim, but I remember really  enjoying the Rogue VI mission in ME.  I'd look up at Earth and imagine  that my Earthborn Shepard was telling Kaidan funny stories about her gang.

I did it.  Once.  I had to use Sheploo to do it so there was less temptation.  And the whole thing sucked.  I couldn't bear to watch the cutscene of him defending the bomb, but listening to his radio transmissions was almost as bad.  As a result, I hate my manShep.  He's such a ******.  But I did want to make sure I got Ashley's story once.  I didn't even romance her, went with Liara.

EDIT: jeweledleah, those dog tags are amazing!  I can't believe you did that.  Bioware should put those on the store.

if I end up importing all 15 of my saves, Ashley lived in 3 of them.

if I will only import the favorites, then just once.

but I like her too much not to have her alive at least some of the time.

leaving Kaidan sucked.  but so does leaving Ash.  remembering that they are each alive in paralel universes helps.

P.S.  thank you all for kind words about the dog tags :)  they were fun to make :)
