I heard DA:O had really great dialogue length, et al. Haven't played it. Played DA2 recently, and I liked their incorporation of banter. Character clickable bits of random dialogue (even tho it got repetitive).

I also like the way the characters were really aware of each other---each others' personal lives. And that they had interactions outside of the PC.

BW said they'd be putting more banter in ME3. I hope they're really polishing that up because that's how you really get to know the other characters---and feel that connection.

But not in the Tali info dump kinda way. After awhile that felt more obligatory, than interesting. Ah, we'll see. Pretty much anything BW does at this point, I'm gonna squee over.

I'm looking forward to mtg Vega, too. I have a feeling my main dream team will be Kaidan and Vega. We'll see if BW let's me do that to heart's desire.

One funny thing I wish BW could add--a small thing is this: My Shepard has a tendency to get lost. It's unseemly, but true (not very hero like). It would be funny to me if every blue moon, or so one of the NPC's would actually mention it. If it's obvious. I've thought to myself that, man, if this were real ppl they'd be like, Uh, Shepard, do actually have any idea where your'e going?". or, "Gee, Shepard, this looks familiar. Didn't we pass this 10 seconds ago?"

The point I was really picking with your post was the part about Kaidan was right about Cerberus. And I thought, well, you know...my Shepard already knew Cerberus was not trustworthy. So, Kaidan wasn't spieling out any new info to Shep during Horizon scene.

I have read plenty of posts full of righteous indignation about how either Kaidan, or Shepard were completely selfish and/or moronic. I'm not in either camp.

My Shepard agrees with your Shepard, but neither of them were able to agree with Kaidan on Horizon, yet she was able to agree with everyone else who questioned Cerberus......... That's my problem... Why can't Shepard talk to Kaidan the way she does to Tali ''Oh, I expect them to stab us in the back and we will be ready'', that might have appeased VS a bit, don't you think?? 
I'm not in either camp. I just don't think Kaidan needs to beg forgiveness, I (and my Shepard agree with him)  Am I making my point a bit clearer?

I agree. Kaidan does not need to beg forgiveness. And neither does Shepard. Not imo. Honestly, I don't think anything Shep said woulda made a difference. Even the "I fully expect them to stab us in the back" part. The closest I could get to that was the "I don't answer to them" part. Kaidan would have had something to say whatever we said.

On the one hand you could say we were written into a box...and we were. But also, just pretending to be in-game and all that, I could imagine it going that way. It was an emotional moment. An awkward moment in the extreme. Kaidan's, understandbly, freaking out. And Shepard turns out to lose all those smooth talking persuasion skills at the very sight of Kaidan.

RP wise, I could see that. Shepard's like "ZONKOMG...it's Kaidan. Okay be cool. Be cool." Shepard knows it's been over 2 years; maybe Kaidan is w/ someone else--maybe anything coulda happened. Shepard also must be thinking, "Crap, and here I am w/ Cerberus. Does not look good." Head Canon wise I can rationalize the Shepard herp-a-derp.

Is that what BW was going for? Only BW knows.

I don't think we will ever know, I think I would just prefer BW to come out and say ''We dropped the ball'', how it all came out was not how it sounded in our heads....

My one firm *opinion* of Horizon is that it is just really badly written, you know? 

I can get the making a fool of yourself bit, sort of like ''I carried a watermelon'', but generally it just should have been dealt with better, heck they could have had VS survivor at least say ''I'd do anything for you, but I won't do that''  That would have been an improvement

My personal opinion of Horizon is that it was slapped together last minute - Bioware: "oh crap, we forgot the VS. Quick write something and we'll shove it in the game"  the next day - Bioware: "oh crap we forgot that guy, you know the boring one that nobody likes.  what's his name, oh that's it, "Kaiden".  Meh, just stick him in in place of Ash, no-one will ever know"

But I can rationalise Shepard's derpiness in my head with varying reasons depending on which Shepard I'm playing at the time.

The Horizon situation is simple, they wanted a reason why VS couldn't join Shep for SM and a fight with Shep is what they came up with. Not that I like it, but it ain't like Liara's borderline obsession with SB makes much more sense.

Until we get something new we really don't have much option but to overanalyse Horizon for the bajillionth time, lmao

I actually don't mind Horizon, the cooncept of it not the dialogue, lol.  I really thought that Kaidan would have been taken by the collectors and that Shepard would have to rescue him though so it did hit me for six on the first playthrough, and there was much yelling and swearing at my monitor, lol.

True true I have a bit different stance on it since the more emotional drama between my ManShep & Kai that will lead them to fall in each others arms at the end the better So I can't hate on Horizon that much Especially after the limb line :wub:

@Jenova yeah, perhaps it was just badly written. I have no idea. And things do have a way of sounding different in ur head--lol.

The "i won't do that" woulda been satisfying, at least in the moment. But then we wouldn't have this deliciously awkward reunion to look forward to. The way it was done pretty much left everything hanging. Both Kaidan and Shepard sitting back later wondering wth just happened?

Things were left unresolved. (At least for some Shep.s. Other Sheps just said "Bye Kaidan").

I'm interested to see what options BW will give us to address the situation. I hope they don't drop the ball again. I would like something well written.

However, I'm tired of talking about Horizon now. Although, I've enjoyed this bit conversation with you about it.
