Bioware always does seem to have male LIs always mention a female from their past (Kaidan, Carth, Garrus, Thane, Zevran, Sky, did I miss anyone?), it so wouldn't surprise me if Kaidan has a girlfriend/fiancee now trolololo

I'm hoping Rahna was it for him.  And the infamous doctor.  Jacob and Miranda had a thing going on to before Shep showed up.  I gues BW broke the mold with Alistair.

@jewel and Bekkael Men probably think differently though. And there's a big difference to whether Kaidan was hittin' the clubs for women or he was asked out and didn't want to let her down. The latter might satisfy Kaidanites and is also kind of sweet but probably less likely outside of a game. As a side note I liked Dr. Michel and if it was her I imagine she'd probably help Shepard. Dug her French accent in a sea of intergalactic Canadians and was shiiping her + Garrus. Maybe Garrusmancers can ask for a swap?

Kaidan doesn't seem like the type to go hitting the clubs. but I never really took his "I take this sort of thing seriously" to mean "I've never been with anyone and only liked one girl before I met you" I figured it meant that he merely didn't do hookups, one night stands or friends with benefits.

I was raised in a culture of virginity being some sort of holy grail with marriage being the only reason good enough to relinquish it, but then I grew up and learned that love (and lust) is a bit more complicated then that.

I honestly wouldn't hold it against Kaidan even if he tried to have an actual relationship, instead of merely drinks. seems like it didn't work out anyways, but heck, if he got some sort of comfort from it and my Shepard met that doctor in question? I'd thank them for being there for Kaidan when Shepard was gone.

Jealousy? only if that relationship puts any sort of wedge between him and Shepard and if its over and done with - should should either of them let it?

I'll admit that my Shepards would be jealous - not because it's reasonable from the point of view of Kaidan having had two years to try to get over her, but because they haven't had the same two years to get over him. My Sheps wouldn't act like jerks about it, because they'd understand he had to move on, and ultimately what's most important is that he's happy... but they would hurt if faced with someone else who held his affection. That doesn't make them bad people, it makes them human. How they act upon their feelings is what matters.

I agree, my Shep would understand if He had moved on but It would still really hurt her.

minor things may be changed and adjusted, but the bulk of it, the general direction of the story? not so much. I'd like to be as optimistic as you all, but cynical little me just cannot manage.

I'm basically ready for all sorts of hate and drama at this point. I just hope that they toned down some of the more melodramatic bits, just a bit at least.

P.S. I personally prefer it if Kaidan has moved on, rather then stayed forever alone, because Shepard is his "one true love" the character I fell in love with deals with his issues, problems and feelings and learns from them, instead of obsessing like... Gollum or something.

Considering Kaidan's apparent distaste for clubs in ME1 (doesn't he express his dislike for loud music and/or crowds?), I have to agree with jeweledleah on that front.

Not sure if this picture has been shared yet, but I stumbled across it and ya' know. *blush* Plus, there isn't a Kaidan on this page yet (a travesty!).

It would be ridiculous if they pretended Horizon didn't happen. Especially with Kaidan. I mean, he flipped out more than freaking Ash who's not exactly known for holding back. Whether they slapped Horizon scene together in 5 minutes or not it doesn't matter. AT this point it's part of the story so they can't ignore it like it was nothing.

 I'm just hoping bioware don't screw it up by having all the blame heaped on Shepard because I will flip out if they do. It's just this awful feeling I'm getting. Both sides need to face the problem, hash it out without hitting below the belt, then take a little time to chew the info over-then get to the romancin'.

I would almost prefer that Bioware make room for player interpretation. It would be hard not to annoy someone with one clear scenario. So by leaving something vague the player, for any one play-through can decide what they wanted to have happen. If a person wants to believe that Kaidan and Shep are each other's one true love then they could and if the player doesn't like the thought of him being forever alone they can believe he moved on.

At first I was going to say that its just one of the screens from leaked Beta and then I saw that last line.

P.S. as far as mode selection is concerned, I still think its a genious idea.  much flexibility

This scares me, if they're listening to feedback, then all the people who say they hate Kaidan and such... will get what they want... ;___; bioware is making me sad.... so sad, what if they purposely kill him? T-T Isaac, say something to make me optimistic?

the last bit until I went back up to see what everyone was freaking out about. lol

@Clara Shepard Sbarge has mentioned recording end game dialogue for Kaidan so it will be possible for us to keep him alive and there is no way they're going to give Kaidan a scripted death now due to fan complaints after saying the VS will have a big role in ME3.

I don't recall anyone saying anything bad about Kaidan himself. 

What I do hear is the criticism towards his and Ashley's role regarding...two characters who have an antagonistic role towards Shepard.
