Apparently those blanks will be filled in via DLC, whether for ME2 or ME3 I don't know. But here's hoping Kaidan's involved somehow.

It's surprising to see the growth of interest in Ashley and Kaidan these days. And it's very pleasant to see folks I didn't saw in this threads before saying "it's KaidAn" or "he was useful squadmate in ME1, I'm going to take him on missions in ME3". World is moving at the nice direction

I can see where 'whiner's are coming from; I can rage at the Horizon event too, but even I can see that that's the ONLY flaw in his 'history'. Problem is, most people have jumped into the ME series via ME2, so many of the players haven't actually had a chance to get to know Kaidan from the 1st game. So when they meet him on Horizon, that's the impression they're left with-a biotic with emotional issues who was on Shepards team but promptly ditches her when he finds she's with cerberus. And those who have played 1, either think he's too by-the-book or just not interesting enough to garner attention. These are probably the same people who immedietely took to Thane because he's an assassin in tight leather and man cries at the end of his route. But I like Kaidan. He's actually sweet in that adorkable way. He's not some Don Juan-and that's what makes him great.

I actually came across people who referred to Kaidan as useless in a fight. Don't know what game THEY were playing but I had Kaidan as a perma-squaddie in my ME1 playthrough. I found him to be distinctly helpful in practically all situations-except maybe the geth armature during a certain asari's recruitment *cough*rescue*cough* mission. Kept getting blasted when he 'danced' out from behind cover.  

Kaidan: lawl! I can totally take this GA all by mah-self!! *leaps out of cover: 
me/shepard: KAIDAN NO!! 
Kaidan: *get's nuked* 
me: god dammit...where's the medi-gel? <_<

The squad AI is still rather lacking even in ME2, hopefully ME3 yeilds better results. Last thing I need is to have flashbacks of his cute butt sailing into the air like a ragdoll.

and all these characters can be such an essential and bamf part of your team if you know how to play them. especially Anders and Kaidan.
Granted I do think Anders and Fen can be really overdramatic sometimes

usefulness of Anders makes me very sad becasue I have hard time tolerating him when I keep interactions with him to a bare minimum. sowwy, but he really never shuts up about the mages and the templars :/ its... blech

its not necessarily a male LI thing. notice that Thane and Garrus don't get this same criticism (which is especially amusing with Thane, because he is the one with Carth syndrome, not Kaidan) I'd say its a human LI issue, but I don't think that's entirely it either.

Twilight issue? unrealistic expectations issue?

And @ Batteries, I agree that sometimes Fenris and Anders get on my nerves a bit. I eventually warmed up to them, and romanced Anders, but he's still nowhere near Alistair and Kaidan on my favorite LIs list.

ahh yeah I forgot to put human in the sentence, because the humans really do seem to suffer from it much more. except for fenris I suppose, but he's closer to human than any of the ME aliens I guess.

I'm glad I ended up adoring Anders' character, he's always a staple in my party because he can practically be and do anything if you spec him so ;3
I also always have Alistair in my DAO party too. I think the most fun I've had with him was when I made him a dual wielding warrior.

Kaidan.... Can just keep throwing and lifting our enemies up in the air so I can shotgun them

Has there been any news on that FemShep trailer? I'm getting the feeling it may launch around the time of the demo in January now.

Haha yeah, everyone looked last gen on Horizon for some reason. But ohh man just imagine Kaidan in SR2's lighting!

Gotta work with what we got xD At least we got good pics of his alternate armor and his improved face textures and we confirmed the hair bumps didn't go anywhere :wub:

Re-Allianced SR2 should be a less uber-bright than Cerberus SR2. It has this new blue-red lighting theme, should look very nice I think:

I just want Kaidan to have better facial expressions when talking. In the final encounter with Sovereign he just yells like a ****** and yet his face is all calm while you hear him yelling.

That's a general thing with male faces though.
