I think this thread is quieter than usual because those that don't want to be spoiled ran away, and those who got spoiled ran to other threads to discuss it.
Also, Skyrim is a big factor for many of us as well. I really enjoy it but... *sigh* BioWare has spoiled me with rich character interaction in their games, and by making me invest myself emotionally. All the NPC's in Skyrim just seem rather boring in comparison.Crafting potions and making armour is fun for a while, but I prefer compelling drama and a love affair that makes you crazy for a fictional man.

I get what you mean, I have no connection to them and I'm kinda like "Why am I helping Skyrim/stormcloaks etc?"
But the scenery and battles are fun enough so
@starwars Deus Ex seems cool but i hate playing as a man so its hard to play. <3

I'm not playing Skyrim! *fist pump*
I messed with the character creator while my husband was at work, and made the mistake of saying "I don't see what the big deal is about this game." He shot me a 'I will murder you in your sleep' look and said "I seriously hope you're joking."
What can I say? Sandbox RPGs sound all well and good, but I like a little structure in my games. Otherwise I wander around lost FOREVER!

'Kadien' is in the lead now. Hmm, we may need to rethink Kaidan's evil twin theory, maybe it's actually triplets, lmaostarwarsfan68 wrote...

This is my problem, too. Beyond that, I find the need to get attached to something, so my horse becomes my favorite character. And when my horse dies... Well... It's a sad day
I haven't played Skyrim since last Monday, actually. I've been having too much fun with Assassin's Creed and Uncharted 3 to go back to mindless wandering.
I still don't get what the big deal is with Elder Scrolls games, though. It's a mindless RPG with clunky combat, awful characters, cheesy voice acting, and a sub par plot at best. Oblivion has to be the worst game I've ever played.

I'm with you! Didn't understand Oblivion, won't play Skyrim.

See, that's where my opinion will differ with yours. You see it as mindless wandering, I see it as complete freedom and a break from rigid, linear games, and there are very few such games out there. The Bethesda guys put some great surprises in random dungeons, and it's a real adventure to discover them.I do agree with you about the horse. I never lost a horse or had one die in Oblivion, so when I did in Skyrim I wanted to cry.

Was just searching Kaidan on google and found this.
Kaidan (怪談) (sometimes transliterated kwaidan) is a Japanese word consisting of two kanji: 怪 (kai) meaning “strange, mysterious, rare or bewitching apparition" and 談 (dan) meaning “talk” or “recited narrative.”
Thought it was rather cool

And this is exactly what's it's like trying to tell the other BSN members how to spell Kaidan's name

I probably should have re-worded thatWhile I do enjoy the free roam aspects from time to time, I wish the story was intergrated (blah, can't spell) better into it. Nothing aside from curiosity motivates me to go exploring, and while that's all fun, it gets boring after a bit.
I dunno I think Bethesda has the edge on realism when you can be left at the altar.TeenZombie wrote...
I wanted to love Skyrim, but on my PC it's crashing every time I as much as sneeze. And it ALWAYS crashes in the middle of dragon fights. Which is highly inconvenient for me if I want to get anywhere in this game.
Add to that my terrible experience with marriage...I chose Vorstag the hireling because he was convenient, didn't look like he had been beaten with the ugly stick, and had both eyes. Plus, a decent voice. So off to Riften we went, and our marriage was performed...but even before I could control my character again, Vorstag fled the temple. I ran after him, but I couldn't find him anywhere. So I'm back to using Lydia as a pack mule. SIGH.
Yeah, Bethesda has a long way to go when it comes to romances in their games.

I'm playing Oblivion right now. Actually, I've been playing it for like a year and a half. I really do like it. It's always fun, but then I get sidetracked and forget what the quest I'm supposed to be doing is. Same with Grand Theft Horse (Red Dead Redemption) - I've had that for almost a year now, and I'm like 25% of the way through. I love playing for a few hours, but without imminent threat to the galaxy or a waiting darkspawn horde I don't have the impetus to keep going and I forget about it for months on end.
