I keep meaning to delurk and stay that way, but I'm going to have to stop getting five days behind on the thread if I'm going to do that. Thankfully, the posts have slowed and I've managed to catch up to you guys again. I feel like the little brother in A Christmas Story: "Wait up guys!!!" But I digress (quite often, and usually at great length ...)

So, yeah ... it's so five topics ago but here goes ...

One thing I've noticed that no one brings up in the Kaidan story arc (which is the filter though which I viewed Horizon) is the fact that I think that the Shep/VS romance before Ilos was really kind of a "one time thing." Yes, they've been battlefield flirting, and yes they have very deep and significant feelings for eachother - but after the pooh hits the fan and they save the day, he makes a decision to stay in the same chain of command, thereby putting a nix on any kind of outwardly physical relationship. So he goes from "I really want to see where this is going, you know, after we're done with the mission ..." to a post coital "This is the best team I've ever served on, and I don't want to mess that up."

I think it's completely in his character to shelve the physical relationship in order to serve with (an under) the finest commander the fleet has ever seen (not to mention the first human SpecTRe). They would have had to have had that discussion pre ME2 - knowing what I know about where Kaidan's loyalties lie. He's an Alliance man through and through, and it seems to me he has a deep seeded sense of honor. I don't see him playing fast and loose with the rules regarding fraternization, when all he would have to do in order to persue a romantic relationship with Shep would be to transfer.

Does that mean he's not in love with her? Nope. Just that he's not an "instant gratification" type - which was what drew me to him as the LI in the first place. He's introverted and staid, and thinks about the end result before he steps into something. ... which is how we know he fell for Shep and fell hard, if it took 2 years and nagging friends to get him out of his post-Shep, workaholic greif-athon to go out for drinks with the doctor.

I have 2 play-throughs I'm eager to take to ME3. (and I'm spoiler free and proud, by gum!):
My first play-through, I walked on to Horzon without knowing before hand that the VS would have no significant part in the game. I waited until almost the end before my girl Johanna got close with the Drell (I likes 'em broody, what can I say!?), and the picture on the desk got turned down.  ... but Thane didn't make it through the suicide mission so, I"m interested to see how it plays out.

Jade Shep, on the other hand is all Paragon. Doesn't move on from Kaidan in ME2, and bites her thumb at TIM and Cerberus every chance she gets.  This'll be the first one I take in to ME3.

... and holy crow, sorry for the Tolstoyesque post. Is it March yet??

If I ever had (god forbid) kids, I couldn't give them an everyday common name. It's this thing that I have that makes me feel mental pain about it. But I would also never give them a real outlandish name.

I could never make a Jr. either. Kid's gotta have his/her own name.

But I do have a dog named Anders. Bioware has already infected me.

Skyrim.

don't worry my argonian dovahkiin, you shall be born one day.

That seemed relevant.

Growing up I was always totally bummed out that my friends had barretts and mugs and keychains and things with their names on them and I could never find mine.  And I kept trying to change my name to Lizzy, or something else I deemed more "normal."  I grew out of it eventually, but I hated my name until I was 12 or so.

My name's Leigh, by the way.  Not super uncommon, but people still can't pronounce it or spell it right.

Also, I maintain the Kaidan's middle name is Alexander.

@Clara - that is super cool!

I've only ever found my name on two keychains at Disneyland when I was 7 and my dad found one once on a license plate in Vegas.

Ugh, same here! My sisters and all my friends' names I could find, but mine? Nope. I never hated my name, I justed wanted some pencils with my name on them, dangit! Although I did get a keychain once... you could send away tokens from Lucky Charms cereal boxes and fill out a form, and they'd send you a keychain with a four leaf clover inside it and your name on it. :)

And my name's Taryn. I always have to repeat it because people say "Karen?" right after I introduce myself.

I totally wish I had known about that! I was never allowed to eat Lucky Charms. Another huge disappointment. I'm so glad you guys understand. I'm not the only one!

Strangely, I kindof like Igor.

Definitely with shading. It's core to make this work/look very good & professional and actually having such disticnt lines ain't the way IMO. Gonna post our reference pic again:

Image IPB

It looks so good on the Grammy ad because shading creates the realistic shape/shades/silhouette of Rihanna's face and doesn't distract from song titles. The color of the shading is a bonus (it would look just as well in black & white), the hardest/most critical part is executing the shape, shadows etc.
Just honest opinion, please don't be mad

Hey everyone! Been a while, but I've decided to take a few days off from Skyrim. Beautiful game (except for the annoying graphics bug, seriously, it looks like someone used the bucket tool in paint to make snow), AMAZING MUSIC (I think I spend more time standing around listening to the music than I do exploring *is probably doing it wrong*), but the quests are just one giant meh. I think they focused too much time creating dungeons and just threw some short quests with weird level scaling issues together for the guilds as an afterthought. It makes me miss Morrowind. Or maybe Bioware has just spoiled me.

Which means checking in with my favorite ME thread! How's it going, peeps? I'm going to try to catch up on things from the last few pages.
I usually switch between reave and dominate as my bonus, both are so much fun. But when I play on hardcore/insanity I take barrier or geth shield boost so that I have an oh sh!t button for when things get really rough. As for praetorians.. I'll admit, I've done so many playthroughs I've gotten lazy, so I break out the Cain to end things quickly (same goes for the core in the reaper IFF mission, and the thresher maw, and the baby reaper...:innocent:). The thing about praetorians (and oculi too) that annoys me the most is that I can't charge them, so no free shield replenishing.

*Is a Sarah who spent all of her schools years being one of about a gajillion Sara(h)s.* Even worse, two of my Sarah friends had the same middle name as me, so we usually went by our last names. Thanks for the completely average name, mom and dad! So yeah, never bothered with personalized stuff, even though it was super easy to find, because I knew too many people with my name and mass confusion would ensue.

And Clara,  It's looking so awesome! Though I kinda like the shaded version better.

And, to add something Kaidan related to this post:

Oops, I still read it as Karen even without misreading it.

Leigh is pronounced layh right leigh. I see it often, but more as a middle name.

I suffer from the Kaidan syndrome with my name, too. Instead of Erika like most people, mine's Erica (with a c). I'm accustomed by now to people misspelling my name.

I'd like to give my kids (if I ever have any) unique names, too, but nothing too drastic. I mean, I have an aunt named Bunny and a cousin named Eowyn, and I don't really envy them, (Okay, maybe I think Eowyn is a teensy bit awesome, but she hates the name)

Okay =D I'll continue doing the shading! and I won't be mad Isaac xD I love getting opinions, it helps to know how everyone wants it. :)  And I'd make the text more wacky like the Rihanna poster but I don't think Kaidan would look sane with hair going every direction @.@  so sorry the text is a little plain in spots
Also, Isaac, do you think I should add darker shading or keep the level of shading as is and continue that level through the rest of the poster?

That
seemed relevant.

That seemed really cruel at first, but people
have named their children far worse things than Dovahkiin. He'll mainly
be made fun of for the source of the name, but then I realised the next
generation probably won't even know what Skyrim is.

From what I gathered, Mark Meer voiced him in the demo. It's up in the air on who's going to voice him in the actual game. Apparently Anderson's VA didn't think he was coming back for ME2 and then BW called him with like 4 months to spare, so the same could happen with Beattie. Have to wait and see, like everything else.

Mordin's voice was all over the place in that demo so I didn't think much of it.

The Microsoft Sam sounding parts were kinda win though.

My husband wants a son named Leonitis or Octavius. I told him he's banned from naming children.

I have a son named Titus.  I think the Roman theme can be kinda cool if you don't go crazy. I prefer something like that to naming all your kids with names that start with "J" or some such (I had a friend who did that). I like less common names too. You meet a zillion Rebeccas...the only stab at originality my parents made is my slightly less common spelling of Rebekah. It's kinda fun to read everyone's actual name as opposed to their forum name.

EDIT for ToP. Quoted from the first page because I love dancing Kaidan. :D
