I'm not playing Skyrim! *fist pump*
I
messed with the character creator while my husband was at work, and
made the mistake of saying "I don't see what the big deal is about this
game." He shot me a 'I will murder you in your sleep' look and said "I
seriously hope you're joking."
What can I say? Sandbox RPGs sound
all well and good, but I like a little structure in my games. Otherwise
I wander around lost FOREVER!
I'm with you! Didn't understand Oblivion, won't play Skyrim.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]
I'm
playing Oblivion right now. Actually, I've been playing it for like a
year and a half. I really do like it. It's always fun, but then I get
sidetracked and forget what the quest I'm supposed to be doing is. Same with Grand Theft Horse (Red Dead Redemption)
- I've had that for almost a year now, and I'm like 25% of the way
through. I love playing for a few hours, but without imminent threat to
the galaxy or a waiting darkspawn horde I don't have the impetus to
keep going and I forget about it for months on end.
That' so sweet, reminds me of what we used to do before I moved out. Of course it was mostly out of necessity taking turns when we only had one computer and when I was even littler it was so much fun on the Sega along with co-op. I'd love to watch you two playing.sweekeny94 wrote...
I have been trying to get into Skyrim but ended up having no time to play it so far. I also have the issue that my brother is away at school right now and we like to our play games together, which makes it 1000% more fun. We just make fun of everything and look for glitches, so Skyrim is currently lacking bazaar commentary and made up songs relating to whatever is happening at that moment in the game (and he always makes up a theme song for the PC character that is sung while wandering about).
But I agree that the character interactions are severely lacking. And I always give my horse I silly generic-ish name like Mr. Horesykins. I also get startled all the time when people show up out of nowhere to murder me with an ax and I am standing there asking myself why no one warned me about it ahead of time. Then I realize that I am running around on my own. WHERE ARE YOU KAIDAN!!??(aka Kadien/Queandan/Caden/etc.)
I think with the scope of the game there's no way they could make so many people a Bioware character. But that's why modding is so great, you could write Kaidan in if you want.
My favourite Kaidan misspelling has to be that troll's username a while ago though it was intentional. It was so cute that I thought it was a real Kaidanite even after posting the spoilers. Queandan is really funny if a litle far.
Edit: Aww thanks Clara.

Definitely, when my mom yells at me she normally goes through my brothers' names and/or my niece and nephew's before she finally gets to Nancy. She's even accidentally called me by her dog's name before. lol
I've always wondered if they had ever announced a middle name for Kaidan since there was a data book or something that gave Ashley's. I wonder if they've just never thought of it or if he doesn't have one.
To this day, my mother can't remember my name lol. She has gone down the list of: my brother, sister-in-law, her parents, the cats, her family (large Italian-American, like 40+ first cousins), her friends. She finally ends with "oh you know what I mean", and never rememebrs my name.
As for Kaidan's name, probably something plain like Christopher, or multiple second names. Also figure that, if Shepard and Kaidan were to marry, they would keep their non-married names. Can't see Shepard changing names, and much like in Highlander, there can only be one Shepard.

*decides is too strange not too comment on*
Okay . . . how do you have an almost identical family to mine? Take cat and make it dog and use her brothers in place of sister in law plus add a brother and it's the same. There was once a great attempt at making some sort of family tree that failed if only because it took years and everyone gave up, except that she seems to remember everyone with the exception of me!

Ok, so on the subject of names...I always felt that mine was incredibly boring and no one had the same name as me: Tina. Not short for anything...just.....Tina.
My Aunt name is Tina and I like it. I don't know a lot of Tina's. My name is Joni seeing how people are talking about J names. I either get....you mean like Joni Mitchell or Happy Days(70's show) Joni? I even get the Hey Joni where is Chachi jokes which irritate me since I never did watch the show. Either people spell my name wrong when I say it or they pronounce it wrong when they read it. Then every now and then I run into another Joni and we are instantly best friends seeing how we don't know many Joni's.

Would have happened to my younger sibling if my parents hadn't decided on a random G-name instead. (I think in my case it was accidental as my dad last-minute suggested the J name.)
...which makes for a something of a suck, my older sister's teachers (in high school) would keep calling me by HER name. XP

I can. I'd imagine Shepard would want a small measure of anonymity after the last few years, what with getting blamed for everything bad that went on and all.

Speaking of which, have any of you looked up your name meanings for fun? I mean, I wouldn't stake my life on what my name supposedly "means", but it's just something silly to do in your spare time.

On the off topic of names, did any of you mothers in the thread use "name meanings" as a guide for what to name your kids? I remember when my older sister was pregnant with her first, we had at least six different books on baby names and meanings. Of course I, as a ten year old, chose the funniest ones from the book. But my sister was trying extra carefully to find a name that meant something. I think the name she decided on meant "very outgoing" or something.

I did and was deeply amused with how my entire name means "behold the gift of the north dam" XD

Good point. She may want to have surgery to change her looks and move somewhere remote too, otherwise she'll be stalked by aggressive reporters.
