On the off topic of names, did any of you mothers in the thread use "name meanings" as a guide for what to name your kids? I remember when my older sister was pregnant with her first, we had at least six different books on baby names and meanings. Of course I, as a ten year old, chose the funniest ones from the book. But my sister was trying extra carefully to find a name that meant something. I think the name she decided on meant "very outgoing" or something.
Speaking of which, have any of you looked up your name meanings for fun? I mean, I wouldn't stake my life on what my name supposedly "means", but it's just something silly to do in your spare time.
My mum and dad had an agreement, that he chooses girl names and she the ones for bays. THANK THE MAKER FOR THAT. My mum was dead set on naming her second son "Nikolaus". Now that might not sound strange to you, but there is actually a "Nikolaus Day" Nikolaus is something like a little Santa Claus in germany, who comes on 6th of december to bring (small) presents to good kids and punish the bad one (of course that never happens = P).
I probably would have been ridiculed and teased into suicide. *shudders* Kids are cruel as it is, don't give gasoline to the flames.
As for my actual Name I have two. Both are the names of all my grandmothers and greagrandmothers and greatgreatgrandmothers. There names were either "Anna" or "Katharina". So I'm Anna Katharina. Very creative. oh well.
Meanings... well Anna was the mother of Maria, mother of Jesus. Katharina can mean "Torture." Heheheheheh:devil:
