I was invited to SWTOR beta in early Oct., but I gave the key to my husband in order to not be killed in a fit of nerd rage. He's been beta testing for months, and loving the game. WoW has forever cured me of MMOs, though, so I won't be playing it, my love for Bioware not withstanding.

The announcement of Revan novel was the point I stopped caring about TOR. It ain't about what's in the novel and if I like or not how they pulled it off. It's about the fact KOTOR trilogy story ends in a completly different format it should've. Revan novel (+ TOR) is like if instead of ME3 there was Mass Effect novel with canon Shepard to conclude Shepard's story (and then Mass Effect MMO).

Honestly, I wasn't expecting TOR to deal with Revan or the Exile AT ALL, so when I think of TOR, I don't think of KotOR at all.

However, this stupid book is basically backstory for the Sith Empire and a lead-in for TOR. Revan and the Exile are barely there, the story focuses more on a Sith Lord with a really stupid name, and the conclusion will make any Revan/Exile fan rage. It would have been better if they had taken Revan/Exile out, renamed the book, and gave us KotOR3 so we'd have a proper conclusion to the KotOR trilogy.

One of the interesting tweets from Casey recently was regarding what should be Off the table as far as evoking powerful emotions. He asked if things like rejection and jealousy should be off the table.

Some one replied abt. how Horizon was such an awful rejection itself---

What was really interesting to me was that Casey replied w/, "Maybe you should mention that to Kaidan next time you meet him."

To me this implies we will indeed get to have that conversation w/ Kaidan about Horizon and how we felt about it.

I am completely ignoring the whole Revan novel. Covering my ears/eyes and LALALAing at the top of my lungs.

They didn't need to do this - the first two games and the IP were enough to bring players to TOR. I seriously considered not buying the game precisely because of this transparent marketing scheme that cheapened both in the process. But I have many friends from all over, both IRL and those made in other MMOs, who will be trying it. So I'll give it those first 30 days, and see if I stay or not. I've enjoyed the starting stories of the two characters I've made so far, and the voice acting is of course superb (despite its lack of Sbarge - I did recognze some other old favorites, and some other high caliber additions). It remains to be seen if that enjoyment will be sustained in the rest of the game.

ETA: "Down you go!" is Carth. Best delivery (and subsequent reaction): To Malak. I couldn't help laughing despite myself.

I'm still undecided about ME3 but hearing these audioblogs really makes me miss Kaidan and are probably swaying me more in favour of getting it than any of the information, official or otherwise, that we've had so far.

heehee...me too. ah, but the blessed depths of ruin are endless.

yeah, you know, forget all the info..and yada, yada. In the end, we don't really know anything until we actually dive into the game itself. Personally, I wanna see what they've done with it.

I do hope you end up getting, although I understand your position. But I'm also looking fwd to all of us gathering 'round the "weaving circle" and discussing it when all is said and done.

Then, too, we can start the long road of speculation abt. ME4.....aaahhhhh!

The release date for ME3 is March 8th here so I should have plenty of information from the forums and youtube from the people who get it on March 6th to make a final decision, lol. That's just going to be a b*tch of a week for me personally so it will depend on whether I need something to take my mind off stuff or not.

And you're already thinking about ME4? lmao
