I'm sure if you asked his haters to give examples, they either have none, or will say he whines about his headaches. (which was one line about him having a headache. It wasn't whiny, just him stating he had a headache).

The L2 implants are obviously harsh on the body, so if he has a headache, he has a headache. Hell, he could whine if he wants to, but he knows he has it "better" than the rest of the L2s. His work ethic is admirable, and he's so controlled because of his biotics. I can sympathize with that. And he watches out for Shepard, which is very nice. People say he "whines" when he starts talking about his past. Well, what did they expect when they wanted to get to know him? Everyone on the crew has issues. If they didn't want to bother, then they shouldn't talk to anyone. I think Kaidan needed to talk about what happened, though. Shepard was there lending and ear, so why not?

As a romance option? As I stated in my intro, not my cup of tea. I recently played ME intending to romance Kaidan with a clear head. I've romanced him a couple other times before, but I moved on with Garrus. In this particular experimental playthrough, I decided to be faithful to him through and through. I admit, it was fun to get him to loosen up a bit. Although my Shepard was a bit of a Renegade, in my head canon, she tickled him to death until he finally cracked a smile. Kaidan is a sweet man who's deeply wounded. I liked that about Kaidan: that he is willing to take a chance in breaking his rules.

But in personal taste? Kaidan doesn't much appeal to me. I guess he's too "boy next door", and my uterus doesn't go "HELLOOOOO NURSE" whenever I see him. I get that best friend vibe from him as some people only get that vibe from Garrus, or Tali, or Joker.

In the end, I think it all just comes down to personal taste. Some people just don't like cherry ice cream. But it is silly when their only excuse is: "it's cold."

Anyway. I hope I didn't offend anyone, I just thought I'd give y'all a clear point of view from someone who likes Kaidan as a buddy, but not a romance option.

One day that may change, but that is my current opinion of Mr. Alenko right now. It's certainly a bit warmer than it used to be.

And I'll say it again: Kaidan does NOT whine.

phantom - Hi! Now, that is what I call having differences in opinions and discussing them like civilized people. For me, Kaidan is 100% my type, so of course he pushes my buttons. Garrus is more the platonic brother-in-arms who'll always have my six. Obviously, everyone has different tastes and opinions and that's great, what's not so great is how stupid some people can be about it.

My friend once told me that he really likes Kaidan but thought he was always whining about his headaches and being a biotic. Even though I never played as broShep (yet) I didn't believe him LOL. So. And he's not.  I've asked a few of my friends, and that's their impression. I don't get it either, but okay. lol

@ phantom, expression "different strokes for different folks" exists for a reason if we were all attracted to the exact same things, world would have been a boring place.

How has everyone been the past few days? I was busy cooking for Thanksgiving and such? I finally caught up on all the pages I missed.

I too got a beta invite for this weekend for swtor, I played WoW for 5 1/2 yrs but quit a few months back, so I will be trying out swtor, since I like mmo's and love star wars! I still havent gotten that audio file to dl for me from Raphael Sbarge, any suggestions? I would appreciate it muchly :happy:

Cooking for the fam on Thanksgiving and braved some shopping with my daughter last night. Our local wal mart was insane, I saw a fight break out and everything, LOL. So we went one town over to that wal mart, it was like it was on another planet that didnt have black friday shopping, was sooo laid back, heehee.

But I don't feel guilty over that because I love Ash too. That doesn't deminish the love for Kaidan

well... I would say we are Kaidan fans in general, not just Shenko fans exclusively (personaly, out of 15 Shepards that I have, 3 romanced him and 1 of them moved on, and 3 saved Ashley on Virmire), so I'd say pull your chair up and have some cookies

he does only mention his headache once, well twice if you count elevator conversation where Ashley asks him how he's feeling, but its not like he goes - "aww awww my head hurts, woe is me", on the contrary - she asks him if he's ok and he says that his headaches are better and less frequent.

Apparently when you badger him into talking about his issues to the point where he wants to break your face is all good fun for some people... until he actually starts talking about them. Then it turns into "God, this guy whines too much, doesn't he ever shut up about his problems?" Well, you asked him, now deal with it.  Silly people.

Don't worry, you didn't offend anyone except maybe the people who are butthurt over cold cherry ice cream x'D hahaha, but yeah, you said it perfectly!

I'm a 100% Kaidan fan, but I can say that Tali and Gurrus are my Shep's BFF, just not my Shep's taste, I could never hate them

And it's always interesting to hear "Kaidan as BFF" point of view. I always appreciated friendship paths in video games... it's harder for me to enjoy Kaidan's by obvious reasons, so at least there are another people's opinions.

Well, my canon is romance but my MShep who virmire'd him because he had to tap dat as...h was totally his bro. I always saw them bonding over throwing geth-ships into atmo.
