Anyone else read the leaked spoilers and are worried/miffed about how the role of the VS is going to play out if it makes it into the final product?
Slightly worried, but not too much. I've avoided all spoilers apart from the ones posted to this thread and Ashley's thread a little while ago by a jerkish troll. I was somewhat upset initially after that, but now I think of it like this: in the run-up to ME2, for a while one could have interpreted the situation as Shepard dying and being loaded into a geth platform. That's not exactly what ended up happening at all. ;-) At the moment, we have incomplete information and not a lot of context for whatever has been leaked. Also, a lot (though not all) could change before release. Ultimately, I believe Bioware will give us an amazing story with Kaidan. If, on the other hand, they stab Kaidan fans in the back after we've waited all this time and put up with lack of our romance in ME2, I simply won't buy another of their games ever again. I've bought everything they've released for PC since Baldur's Gate, often half a dozen times as gifts for friends, so this really means something coming from me. It might seem a bit over-the-top, but to my mind it'll be evidence that Bioware is no longer a company I can trust to make an enjoyable product, but rather one that finds it acceptable to squander the hard-earned emotional investment of some fans while pandering to others. (Actually, though, sometimes I wonder if we're being pandered to in certain ways? At least our romance is in the squad. That said, with all the possible SM deaths, the VS was always going to be one of the "safe bets" from the point of view of game design.)
That said, I
do believe they will come through on every front and ME3 will be an amazing game for all of us, fans of Kaidan and others.
