They're probably just trying to avoid the spoilerfest that was ME2. I mean when we went to pick up Okeer I hadn't read the dossier past Krogan and thought we were there to grab Grunt. Imagine my surprise when there was a scientist waiting for me instead, and my lack of surprise when Jack turned out to be a girl.

yeah same with me on the grunt part.

I don't know why they kept Garrus = Archangel so hush either, people found that out in like a week even before the achievements were revealed and garrus' face was on one of them for "archangel".

I haven't read any fanfiction in the longest time but I  just read this chapter and I loved your flashback:DNow if I can just wipe the grin off my face.

I want into both ME games completely and utterly blind. Mostly because I played ME1 after ME2 was released (By the time I managed to buy a computer that could handle the game) and I played both games back to back, was freaking epic!

see, when i played it the first time without any knowledge, i was soo hoping that archangel would be kaidan. i really thought i was gonna run into him somewhere. i kept hoping one of these mysterious ppl would be kaidan. this was before horizon.

even after horizon, i kept thinking i was gonna run into him again...somewhere, somehow..fool that i was.

edit: and that feeling when i truly realized that, nope, no more kaidan in this game. that's it. he's gone. my poor shepardess soldiered on, but yeah, i was like, "for real?"

damn my curiosity, but spoilers or no spoilers (and i only peeked at the kaidan bits), somehow...i still have no idea what the heck is gonna happen in me3. sounds weird, but it's like it's all a jumbled mess. in the end if someone asked me, i'd have to honestly say idk...

I've only been spoiled about a very minor part by mistake, cause someone on my friendlist forgot to edit their group posting options, but yeah, everyone I know who read the spoilers said it barely gives any insight on the game itself, that file is a mess and is missing a lot of stuff

I went into ME1 blind but I spoiled myself for ME2, lol. I knew Kaidan only had a cameo but it didn't stop me from searching for him. I think I must have checked out every person in the Darkstar Lounge about 10 times in my first playthrough just in case he was there with the doctor after Horizon, lol

I went into ME1 really blind...didn't even think about romance...had a maleshep and noticed Kaidan right away...awww he's cute...then I noticed that some of my dialog choices were attracting Ash (or was it Liara...been a long time) anyway I thought...I wonder....went back and made a Femshep and talked to Kaidan...and squealed with delight when I saw what was happening. Of course it was a long time and many plays later before I found the balcony scene...one of my favorites.

Yeah, I didn't know about the balcony scene until someone on here mentioned it, lol. I can't believe I missed it in so many playthroughs, lol.  I knew I could romance Kaidan, that's how my boys got me to play ME1 in the first place - they told me I could romance 'Carth'

Back on topic, I started ME1 unspoiled (and late, started Spring this year), and ME2 only slightly spoiled (looked up LIs to see if Kaidan was returning, then made a non-import PT when I found out he wasn't).

I'm learning new things with every playthrough. This time I learned that the Mako fires missiles in addition to regular bullets. This would have been nice to know... seven playthroughs ago.

Holy crap!  How did you make it through 6 playthroughs without the missiles?!  That is an amazing acheivement.  I can't even wrap my mind around that.  Do you know how hard it is for me to aim at things in the mako, esp. while driving straight up a cliff face/off the side of a mountain?  The mako is the reason I had to bump down the difficulty on my first playthrough.

By retreating mutliple times to let my shields regenerate. 


Starting to feel like the poster child for unofficial achievements here, first with doing Feros on foot, now using the Mako without missiles. What's next I wonder.

I totally went into ME1 blind. Had a vague idea about the romance, but I honestly didn't pay much attention to Kaidan (didn't know that he was a romance option when I first started the game). Needless to say, once I started talking to him, I just fell in love with him. Now I'm obsessed, lol. I can't not romance him whenever I play ME1. I always get a warm, fuzzy feeling in my stomach when I approach him at his work station, and even "talk" to him during missions just to hear his voice ("Not now, Commander!", lol).

I was destroyed in ME2 when Horizon happened. I, literally, felt sick to my stomach. He was all I thought about during ME2...hoping that he would make another appearance and that everything would be okay. I mean, the e-mail was nice, but I needed to see him again. I, too, went to Anderson countless times just to see if he would mention Kaidan again.

Now that ME3 is coming out, I'm sooooo excited to see him again and continue the romance! I can't wait! And I agree, Raphael Sbarge has gotten me more excited for ME3 than Bioware has, lol.

lol It's lovely when you nudge them and they claim they don't snore...sometimes he claims he wasn't even asleep:blink:...this issue has been fixed in our household for now ..hubby works nights so everything is nice and quite when I'm alseep.

My thinking is that Bioware will start the hype around demo time...but I bet their hype won't include as much feedback about Kaidan as we've heard from Sbarge. I'm expecting a little because they want to include Femshep this time around but I don't expect the same kind of hype they gave the ME2 characters.

Same here. ... not to mention how many times I read the "About Horizon ..." message. So pathetic ...

I kept thinking "Well ... I'm not Alliance anymore - no more fraternization hurdle, it's ON!" Nope, no such luck.  And, as much as the Horizon stuff and the subsequent Kaidanless rest of the game hurt my poor little baby heart, it also leant a hightened sense of realism to the game for me.

I came to ME late, myself, and played the games back to back as well. It was great to be able to do that, but this delayed gratification - waiting for ME3 release - is friggin' killing me. Especially with all the goodness Raphael Sbarge keeps delving out to us on a semi-regular basis. This last audioblog was ... le sigh. Am I the only one who listened to the first little bit more than once? "Hi ... I'm calling" Oh, March ... tarry no longer!

Say what you will about the Hammerhead, but that thing could throw up some shields pretty damn fast.  I could knit a scarf in the time it too the Mako to get back to full power.

I'm also suggesting to BW that they make an official in-game acheivement "Chylise: 50G - Finding a way to make something way more difficult than it has to be and then pulling it off with style"

Seriously, we are so lucky he's been doing the audioblogs and all.  I bet the other fanbases are getting pretty bored out there.
