I found Mass Effect 1 after KOTOR as well, and specifically got it because of the voice acting. I'd never played a game with  complete voice acting before  - had always played MMORPGs. But the immersion in the story you get from having everything acted... it blew me away. When I found out that even your character was voiced in Mass Effect, and Raphael Sbarge was a main character VA  - I knew I had to get it. I'd never found myself caring for an NPC the way I did about Carth, and I knew it was not just because of the writing but also the voice that brought it to life.

And for a /facepalm moment - I didn't realize I could replay characters in ME1 and get them to higher levels. So I've just started replaying Melian Shepard. I'm such a doofus - but happy about it, since I'm getting all that Kaidany goodness again .

Considering this is the VGAs we're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised if the trailer was all the "OMGZ ACTION!" battle stuff. <_<

I really don't care which Shepard is in the trailer, or on the box for that matter, but it would be nice to see some squaddies other than bloody Garrus and Liara for a change. We've seen snippets of Ash so it's about time Kaidan got a snippet in a trailer, femShep or not.

Oh, and it would be nice if we got a trailer that included something more than 'hey, look how awesome our new combat is'.  I don't play ME for the combat, but that's just me, lol

I guess there's no reason for me to watch the VGAs live now.  Don't care about Command & Conquer, and I can watch the new trailer on YouTube if there is something of interest to me in it (like Kaidan...come on Bioware, throw us a bone for once...)

That's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the post no Femshep trailer...Garrus and Liara.

I think we're actually the luckiest fans  if you think about it, we get to know more about Kaidan's personality and little bits that are happening in ME3 because of Sbarge, the other fans of like Thane, Liara, Miranda, ect. don't get a horizon letter or Q&As with the VA.  Raphael has really spoiled us :3 <3

Gah, okay.  No femshep.  But I can deal, as long as there's some Kaidan.  I won't hold my breath.
It'll prolly be Vega and Miranda.

There is no doubt we are the luckiest fans in the ME 'verse! 

Other fanbases have looked on with just a wee bit of envy, and some have even agitated for their own equivalents. For example, I know Keythe Farley was approached about the possibility of reading Thane's letter from the SB Dossiers, and has he'd said he'd look into it on his FB page (entitled, catchily, Keythe Farley is Thane Krios). While not quite as proactive as Raphael Sbarge has recently become in terms of interacting with his ME fanbase, Mr. Farley does maintain a FB page for them and frequently posts there. He's another who seems like a truly nice man, who does more for his fans than many other actors (voice or otherwise) nowadays. I know his voice acting was the sole reason I bought Genesis - I had to create a single femShep for Thane .

I know it's too much to hope for, without a femShep trailer, but I wish the new one would show Kaidan and Thane and Garrus... That would make my weekend more complete, fo' sho.

No FemShep, eh? Well, then I guess we won't get any Kaidan in the trailer.  I'll hope for a glimpse of Vega, but my cynical side says it will be more Garrus/Liara. I'll have to look the trailer up after the fact since I don't have any live tv. I don't suppose they are broadcasting VGAs over the web?

Regarding leveling up in ME, I got to level 53 in one playthrough by doing all sidequests and DLC. What are the bonuses for importing a level 60 Shep? I've never done it...

According to the M.E. Wiki:

• Importing a level 1 through level 49 character will grant
  1,000 XP (the player starts at level 2), 20,000 credits, and 2,500 of
  each resource.
• Importing a level 50 through level 59 character will grant
  2,000 XP (the player starts at level 3), 30,000 credits, and 5,000 of
  each resource.
• Importing a level 60 character will grant 4,000 XP (the player starts at level 5), 50,000 credits, and 10,000 of each resource.

Which, as far as I remember, sounds about right for L60.

You start at level 5 and get an extra 50k credits and 10k of each mineral resource. (Personal application = heavy charge at start of game, totally worth it.)
