I still think BW should have written it so that, depending on whether the player has checked in with Anderson and asked about the VS, you either get (A) the scene as is, so that people who dislike the VS or feel like they need an excuse to move on to a new LI can have the angry reunion, or get (a much calmer version where the VS has had Anderson explain that Shep's back, working with Cerberus, the VS isn't happy about that association but they'll trust Anderson's judgment and sorry, they've got their own mission they can't abandon but be careful. There, something for everyone that still keeps the VS logically out the game.
Really wish they had done this.
The VS will trust Anderson's judgement, but not Sheps? You see the issue with this yes.
He either doesn't trust anyone's judgement or says not to because he's too emotional, OR he'll trust Sheps foremost.

Well, I'm terribly sorry you feel that way.
But as someone who's read the leaks, and I'll color it out even though this isn't really spoilers but I don't want anyone who's avoiding ME3 info like the plague to see it **there's plenty of tension because of unresolved trust issues at the start of ME3, so it'd make less even sense for the VS to go from "I trust you completely" in ME2 to, okay, that would be too spoilery**.

He should absolutely do this. It would be awesome.
@Estelindis Thanks for re-posting your letter...I think I've read it before and it's beautifully done...just wish we had the ability to send it to him in game.

What I said was it makes no sense if he says to trust Anderson and not Shep, i didn't say he should say to trust Shep. Logicly he'd say to trust no-one and/or act accordingly / similarly, which doesn't nessecarily HAVE to point to an actual trust-issue seeing the amount of feelings involved. He's pretty much nonsensical.vulpesetuva wrote...

Lol well that isnt spoilers, not really just look at the demo that accidently went out on the xbox and replace ashley with kaidan. short version;
kaidan: sheperd!
shep: kaidan
Shep walks off into meeting, kaidan has brief chat with vega. Then he reappears with the normandy with vega, shooting husks so shep can jump on the ship.
Sadly its not a very romantic scene
I do hope theres a least a femshep version of the demo with kaidan in it, i'm tired of trying to replace ashley with kaidan in my head

I just checked it out on youtube...feels more like ME1 than ME2...I am excited. Of course it was rough...and I hope they did some more work on Anderson's face...just didn't look like him to me.
The one I watched was an unromanced Ash...I wonder if it's different if you romanced her or if this will be another pink armor lets cut corners thing and we get the same reaction. I could do with them staring a little bit at each other. They don't neccessarily have to say anything...just body language.

I chose this format very carefully and deliberately, as I tend to be overly verbose and needed something to limit the length of Shepard's reply, which I felt shouldn't be longer than Kaidan's original email. His message could be shown in three screenshots, yet it conveyed so much emotion.

actualy - it makes at least some sence in context of ME2. becasue unlike Shepard who presumably died and was MIA for 2 years with some interesting rumors showing up - Anderson was right there, working along side all this time.Ottemis wrote...

Anderson has done nothing to break VS's trust. Shepard, thought no will of their own, and by events.information being manipulated by TIM - has.
of course it would make a great deal more sence if the conversation could have been longer and Shepard had a chance to share information on Cerberus (like Shepard gets an opportunity with that Cerberus operatie you find on Lorek) and the only difference between going vs not going to Citadel before Horizon would be in a greeting (like if you didn't go - they still yell, but if you did go, they don't)
there are a lot of ways Horizon could have been done better :/

I actually did see the leaked beta...I just thought I had missed something, lol (like another video that went into further detail or something). While I agree that we do need a femshep version with Kaidan in it, at the same time I want to "surprise" myself by seeing him for the first time when ME3 finally comes out. When I saw the leaked video, I tried to imagine Kaidan in Ash's place, and my heart just pounded in my chest. It's like, the last time my Shep saw him was back on Horizon, and she's so nervous at seeing him again and then BAM! He's right there before her trial. Talk about sweaty palms, heart beating rapidly, and not being able to say anything more than "Kaidan", lol.

Wow, this is beautiful!! Very well said. This is definitely what I would have written to him.
@Lady: I know how you feel...I'm such a hopeless romantic. I know that love and romance are not perfect and there has to be some kind of drama but damn! I just want for Kaidan and Shepard to be happy. I hate that there's that tension between them and really hope that it's resolved quickly in ME3. I'll feel better about saving the galaxy knowing that everything is okay between my Shep and Kaidan

I'm sure there will be a happy ending.
But starting them off slow is probably a given...my guess...they'll do the same thing with ME3 they did with ME1...build the relationship until they get to the big romance scene. I just hope it's not like the ME2 love scenes...they just didn't compare to ME1...but after Horizon I'll take what I can get.

I don't think I understand what you're saying. Why does Kaidan have to either trust Shep or trust no one at all? Why wouldn't Kaidan trust Anderson, of all people, who had been, albeit briefly, his captain, an apparently powerful voice in the Alliance, and possibly even Councilor? I imagine my scenario happening something like this, "Anderson told me you were back, and working for Cerberus. Do you remember Admiral Kahoku? All of those experiments we came across? Working for Cerberus is a violation of everything I thought you believed in, I don't know how you could do it. But Anderson seems to trust you, and I'll trust his judgment." Then he explains he can't come along because even if he were willing to trust you enough to run around with Cerberus, he's on a mission he can't abandon. There, Horizon resolved.

Not to butt in and stir up anything, but communication was out on Horizon. I don't think Anderson's message would have made it through, so I'm not sure your scenario could actually have happened.
