I'm sure there will be a happy ending.

But starting them off slow is probably a given...my guess...they'll do the same thing with ME3 they did with ME1...build the relationship until they get to the big romance scene. I just hope it's not like the ME2 love scenes...they just didn't compare to ME1...but after Horizon I'll take what I can get.

Absolutely, plus everything Sbarge has said in his audio blogs.  I suppose some "progression" of the relationship, some bumps in the road, are required, or else it wouldn't be...entertaining?  a good story?  Hopefully it won't take the entire damn game, of course - and little hints I've seen lead me to believe it won't - but as long as it ends well (and we don't all die saving the galaxy...), I'm good.

My understanding, based on TIM's "Horizon just went dark," comment, which implies to me that he had some way of tracking what was going on there, was that communication systems went down because the Collectors had disrupted them to prepare for invasion.

I find it kinda odd... The leaked script and spoilers and stuff (what I read of it, anyways, I didn't read everything) seems so anti-relationship when it comes to the VS, but Sbarge said that the romance is really good. Conflicting statements, bah.

Well, as someone once said, "Always look on the bright side of life."

Casey tweeted it, IIRC. But I'm not 100% sure on that...

I remember that. I just figured that if Anderson would have sent a message, it wouldn't have reached the VS. Apparently, it takes a long time for messages to travel places. (I didn't know that until I read the novels. I thought everything was instantaneous.) They do have live feed to talk on, but that's usually reserved for important messages. I can't see Anderson disrupting the VS's mission to tell them about Shep.

Nooo its not anti relationship with VS at all. I'm sad enough to have read through both of the leaked scripts, the newer one is much better. Theres some really heartwarming 'awwwww' moments in there, aswell as some nice discussion between shep and vs and some great background chatter between crew/squaddies. So have no fear, it will be an awesome journey <3 (well presuming they dont suddenly throw half the script out the window, which i seriously doubt as all the VA work is now done)

Wait. There was another script that was leaked? I only knew about the one that was cracked from the demo. (I haven't read anything, and I don't want to!)

Actually, it was said by a commentator during an interview with Casey Hudson (I think the guy was from G4, but it's been so long I might be wrong).  What upset me more was that Casey didn't try to defend the charecter.  Simply saying that each character has thier fans and letting it go would have been a graceful reaction, but it is hard when you're on the spot.:pinched:

Yeah most comms take a while, at the beginning of me1 anderson asks joker to patch them into a comms buoy when they approach eden prime. So maybe they set one up for each colonized system or some such? Im not too sure how the high speed messaging works, i know the council use the ftl stuff in me1, but then they made a big song and dance about TIM's comms device built into the sr2 during me2, so maybe the councils stuff went through a buoy too?

I'm with Saberchic, there was another script?! Either way, what you said is good news, but Bioware really needs to step up their security.

Yeah one was like 2 days after the first, the first aggravated a lot of people and was very much jumbled notes. The second was still jumbled, but actually had most conversations in it, aswell as the dull stuff like battle shouts and power descriptions. There was quite a few changes from the first to the second, but it all sounded far more... sensible? plausible? Take your pick

It also had the word 'treasure' in it quite a few times, i liked that! All your treasures will belong to me! :bandit: (or possibley kasumi)

Hmm, haven't read the novels, how long is it supposed to take, days, weeks, months? Not that either game gives you a great sense of time passing, but it's not like it only takes Shep a few days to recruit the first four team members and head off to Horizon.

Edit: To clarify the issue about the leaks, all versions of the script come from the leaked demo, more than one file was extracted from that demo. The original spoilers came from the oldest, rough version, but as said above there's a more updated version that has dialogue and such. I suspect the oldest version was looked at first simply because it's the smallest file.

Ha! Love Kasumi! <3 She's awesome!

Hmmm. Intriguing, indeed. *puts on conspiracy threory hat*
I wonder if the 2nd script got "leaked" to help with the rage over the first.

I know, right? That was one of my issues with the game. I had no idea how much time was passing between missions. I can't remember exactly how long, but I'll try to locate my book and find it.

What I said was it makes no sense if he says to trust Anderson and not Shep, i didn't say he should say to trust Shep. Logicly he'd say to trust no-one and/or act accordingly / similarly, which doesn't nessecarily HAVE to point to an actual trust-issue seeing the amount of feelings involved. He's pretty much nonsensical.
Ofc there are and should be issues to be resolved in ME3, don't need to read leaks realising that.

I don't think I understand what you're saying. Why does Kaidan have to either trust Shep or trust no one at all? Why wouldn't Kaidan trust Anderson, of all people, who had been, albeit briefly, his captain, an apparently powerful voice in the Alliance, and possibly even Councilor? I imagine my scenario happening something like this, "Anderson told me you were back, and working for Cerberus. Do you remember Admiral Kahoku? All of those experiments we came across? Working for Cerberus is a violation of everything I thought you believed in, I don't know how you could do it. But Anderson seems to trust you, and I'll trust his judgment." Then he explains he can't come along because even if he were willing to trust you enough to run around with Cerberus, he's on a mission he can't abandon. There, Horizon resolved.

Ottemis point was, why would Kaidan trust Anderson and not his lover? I would be pissed at Kaidan if he comes to Shepard in ME3 and says someone else gave him all information on Shepard and he now believes in her rather then take her word.

Anyways done with this argument. Though Horizon's plot twist was heartbreaking, I'm happy with the new dynamatic of their relationship. Its about two people trying to figure out each other in the middle of a galactic war. Its messed up and skewed. How Anderson and Hackett stand between Kaidan and Shepard makes complete sense since this is a military drama and not focused on a romance.

Timing also bothers me. Supposedly, Arrival takes place four months after Omega 4, and ME3 continues directly after that. That's really the only time frame we're given...

Yeah...it's like having two people hook up on a tv show...the majority of the time when it's done the show goes down hill from there...if they got them back together too soon we wouldn't have anything to look forward to in the game.

This reminds me do we get any DLC's with this or when it's done is it done? If it's done I want a conclusive story including the romance(did they get married etc)...if they have DLC's I want my Femshep to be able to cuddle with Kaidan in her quarters. LOL this sounds like I'm putting out my Christmas list.

He also said something about there not being much love for Kaidan in an interview.  But after all of Sbarge's comments I don't think any of that matters...sounds like they'll do him justice in the end.

My understanding, based on TIM's "Horizon just went dark," comment, which implies to me that he had some way of tracking what was going on there, was that communication systems went down because the Collectors had disrupted them to prepare for invasion.

Cerberus obviously has some set up on Horizon because one of the Normandy crew members that hang around in the mess, Goldstein I think, comments that she had been stationed on Horizon and really dodged a bullet after the Horizon mission.  So TIM is up to something else that we don't know about.

Oh, totally, and I bet TIM released all kinds of crazy rumors about Shepard. I can just imagine all the crazy things he would've spread in order to drum up support for Cerberus.

Lukas Kristjanson, with some additions from Chris L'Etoile and Drew Karpyshyn.  None of them are on ME3 - Kristjanson is on Dragon Age, L'Etoile left, and Karpyshyn is on The Old Republic.
