I've been interested in this for a while and never got the answer, who actually wrote Kaidan's character for ME1?And if the same writer is doing it again this time around?

Lukas Kristjanson, with some additions from Chris L'Etoile and Drew Karpyshyn.  None of them are on ME3 - Kristjanson is on Dragon Age, L'Etoile left, and Karpyshyn is on The Old Republic.

Hmm... Maybe that's why I felt ME1 and DA:O had amazing characterization, but ME2 lacked a bit on that part (with the exception of a few new people).

Yeah one was like 2 days after the first, the first aggravated a lot of people and was very much jumbled notes. The second was still jumbled, but actually had most conversations in it, aswell as the dull stuff like battle shouts and power descriptions. There was quite a few changes from the first to the second, but it all sounded far more... sensible? plausible? Take your pick

It also had the word 'treasure' in it quite a few times, i liked that! All your treasures will belong to me! (or possibley kasumi)

And this is the one I haven't been able to find on the web...found the other one...of course from what I heard there is some stuff in there that people were upset about as well.

Nooo its not anti relationship with VS at all. I'm sad enough to have read through both of the leaked scripts, the newer one is much better. Theres some really heartwarming 'awwwww' moments in there, aswell as some nice discussion between shep and vs and some great background chatter between crew/squaddies. So have no fear, it will be an awesome journey [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie](well presuming they dont suddenly throw half the script out the window, which i seriously doubt as all the VA work is now done)

You sound like me...I wouldn't care if I knew every detail...It's like watching a movie about a book you've already read...doesn't spoil it at all for me. I guess that's the reason I played ME1 so much...even though I knew what would happen after playing it through the first time it was just as good the second and so on. March is coming along too slowly...

Quick question: is there a larger, higher quality picture of ME3 Kaidan (full body or at least down to the knees, either version of armor is fine) than this
 
anywhere?

I've been fiddling around with one of the femshep variant wallpapers that was released during the voting, and I'd like to add Kaidan to it, but resizing him to fit makes him look a little blurry and distorted.

@Estelindis, thanks. No idea what it's supposed to be. The other AA armors are much easier to tell, Ash's looks like some kind of bird, James' looks like a jouster on horseback, but Kaidan's?

I love that fic I really wish someone out there made Kaidan plushies. I keep meaning to get around to attempting to make one, but time always seems to elude me...

Casey tweeted it, IIRC. But I'm not 100% sure on that...

Actually, it was said by a commentator during an interview with Casey Hudson (I think the guy was from G4, but it's been so long I might be wrong).  What upset me more was that Casey didn't try to defend the charecter.  Simply saying that each character has thier fans and letting it go would have been a graceful reaction, but it is hard when you're on the spot.

It was during E3 this year. Casey was being interviewed by an IGN guy who is a known Kaidan hater (like his article here, the second last paragraph <_<). They're talking about the Virmire survivor being one of the first people you meet, and the interviewer goes, "Let's be fair, most people are going to see Ashley" and Casey infamously replies, "That's probably true. There's some love for Kaidan out there... but not a lot." (video here, the VS bit is around 11:45)

Casey did tweet to Criz that stats for imported Shepards from ME1 to ME2 show more people saved Ashley instead of Kaidan, which, whatever, people can play however they want. But the IGN guy is sort of a douche about it.

It probably breaks down between gender lines and since more males play than females...well you see where that goes. Might be a few cross overs...I played as a Maleshep once on the copy I had for Xbox...still saved Kaidan.

Oh, I know. Heck, even my husband, he thinks Ashley is a racist and Kaidan is boring, yet he still saved Ashley on Virmire. Men, I'm telling ya. I like to think I balanced him out by having both my ManSheps save Kaidan. 


But, I don't really care who saves whom, or the percentages. It's just when you get people going "LOL, Kaidan always dies!" or "LOL, nobody likes Jacob cuz he's boring", it just irks me a little. I mean, so they have a smaller fanbase, who cares? It doesn't mean they're any less loveable.

Ack, it's too serious in here!

I can't wait until people start to realize that video games are serious art forms, and thus begin to hire professional video game journalists.  I am sooooo tired of seeing video game talk show hosts trying too hard to be funny, and failing horriby, especiallly at IGN, making them look like absolute douches or too awkward to function.  Every part of me is wanting to grab that guy and scream, " Act like a professional, jackoff!" <_<

Ah, thanks. You people must have microscopic vision to see them that well! Even when I enlarged, zoomed, cut, etc on Photoshop, I still couldn't see exactly what they were.

Edit: I like Greg Miller's articles on IGN (probably because he raves over my favorite game and he's good at speculation), but aside from that I stay away from all gaming review sites. Too biased and douch-y for my tastes.

I saw my Femshep as being afraid of finding him even though she wanted to because she still loved him...she was afraid to find out that he had moved on...that he didn't love her anymore. I guess I saw my Femshep as protecting herself from getting hurt as much as she might have been protecting him from "re-opening old wounds" Really she was kind of in a situation where there was no perfect answer. Whatever happened...if she waited or sought him out there was probably going to be pain.

I was thinking that too. Honestly, when I first saw Kaidan on Horizon, my first thought was "It's been two years. What if he has a girlfriend? What if he doesn't love me anymore? What if he's married? Has kids?" I hadn't watched any spoiler videos and had no idea what to expect.

Shepard is exactly where she was two years ago. She hasn't changed. She wants to be polite, wants to be friendly but she's still in the dark. Honestly, the way she responded might have seemed detached but at the very least, you could tell she was trying to be tactful because well, what else could she really do? I mean, after rushing into the arms of a man you love then realizing "God. He could be married?" It'd be like a bucket of ice water thrown over your head.
