But as for Kaiden's picture........hmmmm....

I think it looks like a Biotic wave....something to do with biotics...

I know BW doesn't go into too much detail concerning the Alliance military...just a vague description of the code system. We all know N is special forces and 7 is the highest proficiency that can be reached. Does anyone know what the other letters in the alphabet stand for?

This feels very much like a Rorschach test...
I do think it looks a bit like a horse or pegasus, but if so, what's that stuff sticking out from its butt then (rhetorical question, please keep your minds out of the gutter)?
I think I can also view it like theres a little man in the middle (the slightly darker figure) and a biotic field or like a tear/hole in something, around him.
Also, I noticed that Vega and Ash don't have that frame around their symbol.

Kaidan's code can't be N7 since N7 had that red stripe on arm.Soccerchic6 wrote...
Not to change the subject of Kaidan's logo, but I was browsing on the other forums and there was a discussion concerning N7's. Someone mentioned that Kaidan was also an N7 during the ME1 events, but I've never read that anywhere. Does anyone know what letter and number he is? I think someone said Ash was a B4. Edited to confirm that Ash is a B4 (from Mass Effect wiki). Though no idea what a "B" is.

I believe his code wasn't mentioned at all.

Right. And, as far as I know, N7's are rare if I'm not mistaken. Shepard and Anderson are the only N7's on the Normandy.
On a related note, after going through the ME wiki, there is hardly any "behind-the-scenes" information on Kaidan (aside from the stuff he mentions himself in the game). His new rank isn't even mentioned under his ME3 info. There's way more stuff on Ashley than there is for him.

There's a fan picture that suggests D5, which always made me wonder where the artist got that from because I haven't seen any official mention.
Uh, IIRC, when that pic was made, the artist chose the letter and number sort of at random, assuming that the specializations (Soldier, Sentinel, Vanguard, etc), were the basis for the letter and the number was the rank within that letter category. I think s/he eventually decided that Adept was "A", Soldier was "B", Engineer was "C", and sentinel was "D," which would make Vanguard and Infiltrator "E" & "F." The ranks were 1-7, with 7 being assumed to be the highest proficiency, again, based on the N-7 ranking. So, 5 was given since as an LT, Kaidan still had room for improvement.
It was a lot of speculation that went on for that picture three threads ago. I may have gotten some of the details wrong, but that's what I remember about it.

@Lady: I really hope this has nothing to do with Kaidan discrimination. There's enough hate as it is.

I see a humanoid figure with a biotic flare about him, superimposed over a trianglish logo of some kind at the very back. But then, I have an odd imagination.MICHELLE7 wrote...

Seeing it's a silhouette image it would logicly be stylized to be recognizable. I have no idea why somany people seem to see some pegasi in here, because I have to agree it looking most like a wolf's head. Cut off with some manes in the neck-area, with stylized nose/mouth/ear(s) and a fur plume on the chin, basically. Seeing as it's slightly tilted, it would be elongated to have a longer nose then it's showing. I would think if it was a horse, the head would be more pronounced.
The right side of that first image actually looks like a horse to me - like a 3D image. Can't really tell what's behind it though. I've been staring at this image way too long, lol. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon on what they're supposed to be.
Looks like a horse to me as well...
I have the same imagination, then. Though my humanoid figure looks like he's grabbing his back in pain while he's flaring....

Given the context, it wouldn't make sense for Anderson to call Kaidan's father/counsin/someone else. plus the leaked script 100% confirms hes a MajorLadyofRivendell wrote...
The Major thing isn't really confirmed, as far as I know. In a video of Shep and Anderson on Earth, Anderson called for "Major Alenko" to bring the Normandy around. Which pretty much implies that Kaidan is a Major, unless his father, uncle, grandpa, brother, or cousin is in charge of the Normandy.

I'm just very happy with Kaidan's new title. Sorry but Ashley's Lieutenant-Commander sounds just awful lol. Major is short and goes perfect with Alenko
Why does it sound awful? It's the same rank as Shepard?
Unless it sounds awful for Shepard, too?

But they only use Commander for Shep. They keep using full title for Ash and I don't like how it sounds :/ It's just me, please no offenseSialater wrote...

"The other Commander!"
And I love how "Major" Alenko is just perfect.

None taken.
And yes, it would sound wierd. They don't even say the full title in the Navy. They say LtC, or Commander, because it *IS* awkward to say the whole thing. I thought you meant calling her "Commander Williams" sounds odd. If they ALWAYS call her "Lieutenant Commander Williams," instead of just saying that once and going with Commander or LtC the rest of the time... yeah, that's odd-sounding.
