If you've never read After the End by harpandsword(Chem Light on BSN) I highly recommend it...it's my personal favorite.

All of these have multiple chapters and are older fics...Redundant is continuing to be updated regularly. I have some old stuff if you haven't read...check the link in my sig...last thing I wrote was Witch Hunt...more upbeat than what I usually write...a majority of my stuff is dark fic but most are one-shot quick reads.

Anyone on here using origin...my ME2 disc is dead and I'm having to re-download through origin...all I can say is now I know why everyone has been complaining. Had to find a workaround just to install the thing and now the download time is ridiculously slow.

Yes, for emotional angst, it is even worse than the in-game sequence.  But hopefully more real, more believable.  Hopefully it makes the whole scene make sense.  And maybe if some VS-haters happen upon it, they will leave with a new appreciation for the VS's point of view.  The only other things I can say is, (1) tomorrow I'll have something happier (if "imagined"), and (2) I'm not done with these two yet, and they aren't done with each other...we'll be going a little off-script in later chapters .

@ThatGirl:  I don't really consider "If It Meant Living" to be a Shenko fiction - it certainly is that, but it's much more about Shepard's entire story, of which Kaidan is only a part.

I really hope he is an s/s love interest in ME3 since my maleshep has a huge crush on him. Plus his "Losing you was like losing a limb... I would have followed you anywhere.... Take me now" speech. (Okay, the last bit may have been in my head.) Last night my boyfriend was in the room when he appeared at Horizon and he was like "Oh that has to be a bi love interest." and asked how he knew he looked at me like I was crazy and said "They are playing a harp or something in the background for him, Your giant dinosaur comapanion (Garrus) didn't get harp music." His logic doesn't match my earth logic but I cling to it anyways.

Plus he is quite the hottie. When I first started trying to play ME1 I was a maleshep which immediatly got switched to female cause I was told Kaiden could be romanced as a male, I was lied to.

I think from what I saw you can rekindle a romance or even if you ignored Kaiden in game 1 and 2 you can start on up with him in ME3. It's a ittle too bad that they are making him more of a agressor role in ME3 since in the previous 2 games from what I've seen well in 1 at least he is a bit of a sweetheart.

I think they're trying to stress the fact that he's changed within the 2 years that Shepard was dead, and since he's a Spectre and taking part in the war efforts, he has to be more aggressive. I'm pretty sure he'll still be the same guy from ME1 deep down, but he's changed.  But I'd kind of like that anyway, because it's more realistic. He's not going to be the same guy he was when Shepard was alive as he is when Shep died, and now he's a Spectre. 
EDIT: I think I misread what you said, but whatever.

Yah lol, your post still related to mine though so it worked.

I just see him getting more of an "oppose Shepard" role. But I agree with you, I think losing Shepard, friend or romance, hit him pretty hard. He is pretty mch the only one who when he sees you sounds actually hurt that he was never contacted and I truely believe he feels betrayed. ME2 doesn't show him in the best light but I think that ME3 will go a long way towards restoring him to his former bad ass sweetheart glory. If I can get my paragon/renegade checks high enough.

I hope he's a s/s interest too! I'm planning on making a mShep just for Kaidan It's going to be so much fun... and angsty with ME2.

I really do wonder what happened to him after Shepard's death. Took me a bit to dig this tweet from Mac Walters up, but after reading this I'm real curious:

@silentkittyk Many wondered why Liara was so distant in #ME2, then in LoTSB we found out why. Imagine what #ME3 might mean for Kaidan & Ash.
