Tbh, I really miss Ash because I never play soldier and she is the best soldier class in ME for me, but I am never leaving Kaidan behind........ n'huh......

I would be interested in seeing the difference in the Virmire choice too.  

Going around this message board (which I know isn't exactly scientific), I was appalled at all the Kaidan hate. I don't understand why they call him boring and cardboard. His backstory is way more interesting to me than most of the other characters.

I don't  hate on Ashley, though,  I thought she was a good representative of a military woman. It's just  Kaidan is more useful and I think has the potential for an explosive storyline in the final Mass Effect. (At least I hope so...)

hehe, I'm not getting into the who saved who and why thing
'cept to say that I usually saved Kaidan, unless I did a test Shep to romance Ashley or was just curious ... I don't want to leave either behind out of principle ...
but well ... considering whose thread this is, I usually picked Kaidan
so he can cuddle in my manly manShep's arms ... which he didn't of course ... maybe grabbing his precious while saving him wasn't such a good idea after all

PS: did a scribble and will 'ink' it to make it easier to get a photo that actually shows anything ...
hopefully I'll find some time to finish the image digitally till the weekend ...

Brilliant xD For some reason having them both there is just hysterical xDDD It's like Kaidan's so hot even continuity boundaries can't stop all the Sheps to appear in the same universe xDDD And I cannot at FemShep's smile! It's like "winning! >:D"

I'm doing it, believe me, I'm doing it........... I've been doing it from the moment they released that first pic and and people were all ''Dayum, Kaidan is sexy........''! 
In fact didn't we discuss doing the dance all over BSN on KAST?

Sadly, the hate isn't surprising.  There is a sizeable group of humans, here and elsewhere, that tend to hate on what others like, just to be jerks.  They also disparage others to elevate their own likes.  It's fine to dislike some characters, be indifferent, or whatever, but the RAWR!hate gets old.

All the characters have wonderful stories, even the "boring" ones.  Kaidan's dialog was informative in how it presents the beginnings of human biotics.  It also illustrates, through his experiences, the dangers of a new science and the down side of stumbling around with it.

Lol I'm not over impressed with the new armor.  It's far too bulky, especially for a character that has to do "casting" movements.  And when it's so bulky, it distracts from, erm, natural contours.  

But the hair is nice.  He has Jorge Posada's hair! <3

How could anyone find Kaidan boring? He survived a biotic death camp at a young age, is extraordinarily powerful and is a rare L2 survivor w/o all of the horrible handicaps.... he's generous, respects Shepard, gets along very well with aliens....

It was strictly because of the Mass Effect 2 PS3 interactive comic, and our reactions to Shepard describing Kaidan as a "good kid"...it's pretty dismaying to hear that about a character who is older than Shepard, and is one of the most mature (in my obviously biased opinion) and grounded of the ME1 crew.

Much like the thing in LotSB where Shepard is not allowed to say that he/she is fighting for Ashley or Kaidan (~*forever bitter*~), having a condescending and patronizing view of Kaidan being voiced by Shepard was annoying.  Hopefully this sort of thing isn't present in ME3.
