I just kept my distance and circled around it and kept shooting. Kinda simple but it worked. I think I used warp a lot too...I usually play as an adept or vanguard.




ETA: I have heard that you can get it's health down with the mako and then get out and finish it on foot and get the same experience for it but I've never tried it.

I'm just started my second playthrough with Adrienne Shepard, my canon, in ME1.  I'll be losing about a week and half while I'm out for Christmas break, but I'm hoping to finish ME1 and continue to ME2 by mid-January.  Hopefully, I'll get her ME2 playthrough done before March comes out.

EDIT: Forgot to ask...will it be better to start ME3 with my tester Shep or just go ahead and play with my canon?  I'm really tempted to import my canon first but I'm afraid of making mistakes and whatnot.

Well...since you put Kaidan on top

Best way to kill a thresher on foot is to get its health down in the Mako and then get out on foot and kill it.  You still get the XP for killing it on foot.

Doing my first full on renegade playthrough before March.  I plan on doing all the things I've never done before in this playthrough (including romancing Liara and killing Kaidan ).  Wish me luck in my resolve!

Best way to kill a thresher on foot is to get its health down in the Mako and then get out on foot and kill it.  You still get the XP for killing it on foot.

Thanks!  I was hoping I could wittle down the health with the Mako.  Wasn't looking forward to spending half an hour killing the damn thing on foot, lol.

You can get to level 54 or 55 in one playthrough but that's doing every single side mission and the dlc.  and I generally don't get out of the Mako to kill thresher maws, lol.

As for Kaidan's biotic display I see him using lift on Jenkins rather than doing a biotic kick.

55 is totally possible from second run (with achievement "XP gains 10% faster") without DLCs and with some missed quests - in my case it was Rebecca and Michael, Rafael Vargas and Rita's sister - but all thresher maws and colossi must be killed on foot. Which looks rather silly when takes place on "level something hazard" planet - crew runs like mad around Thresher Maw, then gets into the Mako to get warm, then repeats process. And, as you can assume, person called "mineralica" is totally into searching for minerals.

I don't have a fully played renegade yet either...when I do it will depend on just exactly when the demo is released. I don't want to interrupt the playthough to try out the demo.Of course Kaidan will be alive in mine...I'm weak willed okay:D

Just got through with Grunts loyalty quest. Wonder why Bioware thought it was such a great idea to give you 15 freaking renegade points for killing the thresher maw in ME2? Ticks me off on my paragon but I took the points...how can you not kill the thing?

In ME3 Kaidan is a Major now, so Shepard is the subordinate... I want to kind of see the roles reversed, like, Kaidan in ME1 talked to shep about jump zero and then proceeded to like her more and more, leading to a relationship yatayata my point is, I kind of hope Kaidan, after the occasional mission, comes to see Shepard, and they just talk, but instead of Kaidan and jump zero, we see more of Shepard talking about the blitz or akuza, you know, like restarting the relationship again.... ok maybe my idea sucks.. but I like it xD
I'll go back to my corner

Good luck with that. It's pretty hard to refuse Kaidan. Also, I strongly advise against leaving him at the bomb site on Virmire. That causes instant reboot for me every time.

Oh, woops!  Sorry!  I'm at work (muahaha ) so I'm constantly minimizing the screen.  Then I stepped out for lunch so I must have missed your post.

Ugh!  That's why I'm not so keen on importing to ME2 any time soon.   No Kaidan!   And I am NOT looking forward to Horizon.  It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.  On the bright side, about two and a half months to go and we get our Kaidan-y goodness.

I got canon femshep through everything again in an "ultimate playthrough" the day before yesterday, will repeat said action with manshep, I've only been to recruiting mording yet though

I also found the face codes for hugh jackman shepard and totally made my Mshep look like him. I REGRET NOTHING...

Wow, that's true...Shepard will be the subordinate now.  Game wise, I think Shep would be the only one to approach crewmembers and such.  But I would love for Kaidan to be the one taking the initiative. 

On that note, in ME1, I love when he gets all jealous if you visit the consort after you've started a romance with him.  It's so cute!

Lol, I am totally  planning on doing this once Kaidan is a confirmed s/s LI.  Might make a maleshep for Vega too.  We'll see after I get to know him

I know he was a Staff Commander in ME2 making him higher than Shepard rank-wise.  If indeed he got promoted again, then his rank would be Major for ME3.

I know it's been mentioned that Ash is a Lieutenant Commander, and that she's literally called "Lieutenant Commander Williams" when someone talks to her.  I've assumed it's to avoid confusion since Shepard is still known as "Commander".  I think the same can be said of Kaidan.  Maybe he was promoted to Major to avoid confusion when someone says "Commander".

Yep, going to start February 25th. That should give me enough time to do my main's perfect playthrough for ME1, 2, and all the DLCs.
