I am really hoping that I'll be able to do a final run-through with my canon Shepard in time. My PC has chosen to die in an annoyingly spectacular fashion. My husband has sworn in his knowledge of all things computer that my hard drives are unaffected. I am terrified that I have lost all my saves.I have 3 main Shepards, and while I might finish a full run with one, I will not be able to re-play all three by March!
The timing is especially important as I want my canon, Eleanore to be my last game prior to ME3. She's the one who's with Kaidan, and I want that play through to be fresh in my mind.
I copied my saves to disc...yes I was that paranoid about it...probably back up these new ones as well.

I just remember that his name is "ghost story" and that the second character is "story" so it's "dan". It's not "mysterious lightening", which would be "kaiden".
I called one of my fanfics Ghost Story when I found out the meaning of his name...loooong time ago...anyway...shameless plug for any newer members that may not have read it.

Wow, it was very beautiful and touching, thank you for reposting it!I have a Shepard as well that was romancing Kaidan and then left him on Virmire, and I have to say that particular play-through is really sad but she is one of my favorite playthrough's because of the angst and drama surrounding her and how hard a choice Virmire was.
I was never able to virmire Kaidan in my actual playthroughs...but thanks for reading...glad you liked it.

Yep...my ME1 imports were played twice and I don't think either one of them were level 60. Might have had a level 59. I could be wrong but I think you still get bonus's for the import. The higher the level the more you get or something like that. I was more concerned about importing the right save...couldn't remember what I did in each one.
I hope the import on ME3 lets us know who lived and died in each save.

Lol, I chose not to level the others, the second playthrough is required BUT once you have broken the level 50 first time you can get to around 57 in one playthrough, but you will require the second for the last three levels, I just chose not run through twice with ALL of themIsaacShep wrote...

Yes, it's very possible to be at lvl 59 at the end of second playthrough - I've managed to do it with second char (so 50+ lvls were unlocked) and BdtS installed. It tend to happen if you kill many things in Mako instead of on foot.

There is a level of bonuses for importing into ME2 a level 50+ character and a higher level of bonuses for a level 60 one. I played ME1 twice to get to level 60 several times, and the initial money and resources in ME2 is really nice - you can buy and research a lot more upgrades before you have to start scanning planets. But I confess that the last character or two I haven't made the replay to 60 :/

Is there a benefit to getting to level 60? The highest I've gotten to is 56 and I'm OK with that. I mean, the higher level you are in ME1, the more squad points you start out with in ME2. But even then you can only get to level 30 and that's not exactly hard to do. Is there some other benefit I don't know about? Or is it just a little gaming OCD (in which case, I totally understand)?
From Mass Effect wiki:
A portion of the character's Paragon/Renegade points (up to 190 each, which requires the bar(s) to be 50% full) are transferred over.
[*]Importing a level 1 through level 49 character will grant 1,000 XP (the player starts at level 2), 20,000 credits, and 2,500 of each resource.
[*]Importing a level 50 through level 59 character will grant 2,000 XP (the player starts at level 3), 30,000 credits, and 5,000 of each resource.
[*]Importing a level 60 character will grant 4,000 XP (the player starts at level 5), 50,000 credits, and 10,000 of each resource.
[*]Having the "Rich" achievement from Mass Effect will grant an additional 100,000 credits.
[*]The import bonuses will stack with the Mass Effect 2 completion starting bonuses (200,000 credits and 50,000 of each resource). [/list]

Ah, thanks. I've always started at around the same level (53-56) so I never really noticed the difference in credits/resources.Soccerchic6 wrote...
