Ha!  I almost shot cranberry juice out of my nose.

I support ME3 drinking games for multiplayer.  C'mon team, if anyone can make it happen, it's us.  Who needs a bar to go out with friends?

Big day today...

Headsets.  I have one.  I assume it works, because my husband uses it when he plays FIFA.  But there's a good chance that most of what you'll hear from me will be a string of expletives.

Virmire.  Shepard really is taking her balls and going home.  Seriously, though, I get that someone should save Shepard for a change, vulnerability makes her human, and part of me really wants Kaidan to come to her rescue (btw, thanks for the link, karajgil - I had a terrible day and am looking forward to some Shenko fiction), but she's Commander f*ing Shepard.  The ME universe was basically created so that she could exist.  And apparently she's the only one who can save it.  And yeah, it sucks sometimes having to be a big guddam hero, but if Shepard wants a galaxy to come back to, she'll go find a bigger boot and kick some Reaper ass.  This is it.  We fight, or we die.  And hold the line and some other inspirational sh-t.

First playthrough of ME3.  Import.  Hands down.  Of course, now I have to figure out which Shepard I'm going to use first.  I've been mulling over this one for months, tragically, and, as of yet, with no resolution.  I'm working on a new Shep who might get first crack if I can finish her up.  I've grown attached to my tester Shep, and, even though she's not cannon, I don't want to short her.

Sbarge audioblog.  I want this so bad.  Someone ask him what is was like working with the newplayback system they've created - was it like recording with Jennifer Hale even though he was alone in the booth?  I'm not on twitter.  Also, why is he so awesome?!  Seriously, he doesn't have to do all this stuff, but I think it's soooo great that he does.  Maybe Jacqui has an answer to that one, if he doesn't

I've been debating whether to import my tester Shepard first or my canon. But I've just invested so much time into my canon (she's the Shep that I actually got to level 59 with in ME1, and I've roleplayed more extensively) that I'm sorely tempted to import her first. As a friend told me, you can always reload a scene if you don't like the outcome, lol.

I don't have any issues with Shep carrying Kaidan - I find it humorous, but not degrading in any way. That little romantic part of me would like, just once, to be swooped up by Kaidan as he saves the day.

Well, maybe not swooped, because we all know that swooping is bad.

This! It's what I've been trying to say all along. And that swooping bit made me laugh! Image IPB

You know, for such a high tech world, the kitchens in Mass Effect don't look much different than your standard issue house kitchen. /randomthoughtswhileplayingME2/

And leborum, I'll ask that for you, as I'd like to know as well! Well, I'll ask if I can figure this Twitter thing out.

Kaidan saving Shepard appeals to some of those who romanced him...but not necessarily those who didn't.

I worry about *anyone* saving Shepard because of the problem of player choice/roleplaying.

Perhaps worse would be Kaidan saving female Shepard only in the romance, because that might establish a sort of romance-only power dynamic that not everyone may appreciate.

I have to agree with Collider on this point. As much as I would swoon seeing my Femshep being whisked away to saftey by Kaidan I don't think it is very likely to happen. *clears throat to sound like Mordin* "Too many variables! Too many variables!" They would have to make many variables for different combinations and Shepards for this to work sadly. :(

Also I am importing first.

I am a PC player too! Oh and just so you guys know I am added everyone in the Kaidan ME3 MP group under the PC section in origin so in case you see someone add you named Jilinna its just me. :P

Oh and if anyone else that is planning to play ME3 on PC you guys can add me as well! my origin name is Jilinna.

Also I saw this picture the other day and I think I am in love <3

Oh, I'm totally in for drinking games in multiplayer! Image IPB My respects for Satanicponies, though. I probably won't do anything stronger than beer, lol. Wouldn't want my teammates to die because I'm drunk! Image IPB

My husband is a big FIFA guy! If it's not FIFA then it's one COD game or another. He hates RPG's, lol. As for the string of expletives...yeah, that'll be me, too. Except I'll also be apologizing profusely to anyone playing with me if I mess up.  "Sh*t! Sorry!  Damn it!  Sorry 'bout that!"

I'd like to see Shep at some point be helpless and need rescuing. It makes her/him feel more human, like the bit of insecurity we saw with Shep at the end of LotSB talking to Liara. It's great playing a badass and all who saves everyone, but at the same time I like just a little bit of helplessness.

Ideally it would be optional. I.E. Kaidan offers Shep a hand and Shep can either accept it or shrug Kaidan off get up and walk/hobble on his/her own.

Sort of like how Shep could invite Liara up to the Normandy and express concerns or go "Uh...no."

I'll import my canon Shep on my first ME3 run, I thought about importing one of my other Sheps but I recently lost the saves of 2 playthroughs.
Also, if anyone wants me to ask something to Mr. Sbarge, I use Twitter a lot but I can't think of any questions! :pinched:

I have a headset that my son used on our old xbox, I'm guessing it still works, if not I'll get a new one.

I'll be importing my Vanguard Shep. I played her through both ME and ME2 without knowing a durn thing and I plan on doing the same thing with her in ME3,  .

I really like that idea. Not necessarily a paragon interrupt but something along that lines would be cool, like press a button to take his hand or not.

In my head, Shepard would definitely be panicking over injured Kaidan. I mean, she would have kept up a strong front, trying to act like nothing was wrong and completely lose her composure.

yup. and that's when all the nonsense gets thrown to the side. none of it is important anymore. all that matters is that your Baby is alright.

if he ever had any doubts about how shep felt for him, i would imagine her reaction would dispel him of any of that.

oh, and as far as Alistair...oh, that was a sweet, sweet romance. i've licked a few lamposts in winter, but i didn't tell him that! No, Baby. you're the only one.....

i sold him out to the dark ritual...gah. and then they made me watch...ugh. triple gah. it was awful. and then they tried to make it seem like i did it for me! i didn't. i did it for him cuz i knew with him being romanced he would run straight in and get himself killed. i did it to save his life......

but in a way i feel like it's my demon baby, too. we're a new style family...and i will always love it because part of it is Alistair.

that's the only thing about DA. they cut your characters off. one game...maybe a spit of dlc...and that's it.

Mass Effect has spoiled me!

I know a lot of women like the knight in shining armor trope, but I never did. In fact, entertainment that had it always turned me off. But I know a lot of my fellow Kaidanites like it, so I wouldn't have a problem with the option :)

Ok in condensed reply format:

1. Import, I have one main Shep and she's getting in there with Kaidan first!
2. Drinking while MP, hell yes, count me in! (she says with a beer before hammering the Geth on Feros one more time)
3. PC too, I'll add all those on the Origin list tomorrow, if any of you have BF3 and feel like a play once I've added you just ping me! I have an xbox but not ME on xbox - can't get the hang of shooters on there, I'm a mouse and manymanykeys kinda girl
4. I loved carrying Kaidan, really fitted the character. The adrenaline of battle coupled with imminent nuke explosion, she was getting him out of there, especially since she just lost Ash. In ME2 she got rebuilt, stronger, harder, all those muscle and bone weave upgrades, she could snap a Krogan in half, so she's even more tough now. Whoever ends up doing the carrying, Shep and Kaidan are more equal in 3, he's been promoted, he's a Spectre, he earned that. But she's Shepard. As long as both characters have strength and personality and balance I'll be happy.

Time to blow up some Geth... I should go!

@import I'll be importing a save but it'll probably be the single Shepard I just started for Vega with Kaidan as the unromanced VS. See, my original test Shep went from Kaidan to Thane in ME2 and I refuse to let her have a resolution to her and Kaidan's relationship before my loyal canon. I realize the fact that she and Kaidan will not be getting back together makes it a different storyline but still it's a resolution to a Kaidan romance so she has to wait. I won't take my canon through first because I want to be prepared with her. I would use my broShep with Ashley as VS first so my canon will be my first Kaidan playthrough but he's infiltrator and, for me, that's just not as fun... the only reason I don't switch his class is spite.

@ Kaidan saving Shep I like the interrupt idea so you'll be able to choose what works for your particular Shepard.

OMG, but you guys are tempting me to play the MP. but i'd have to get xbox gold...and a head set...aaahhhh.

lol tho w/ the drinking games during multi. that would be too funny. you turn around and see one of your squad running headlong into a wall of mechs.

"what are you doing?"

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

that or you turn around to see them laid out on the ground giggling..."I'm just gonna rest right here for second...."

i like the option. and not even just for Kaidan...but a squad in shinig armor would be nice, too.

Shep is always doing so much for everyone else, but no one is perfect. everyone needs help sometimes. it would be cool, imo, to see the squad rally together.."Oh, snap! Shepard's in trouble! Let's go get her!"

a search and rescue for Shepard. Led by Kaidan wouldn't hurt either.

However, I don't think that's gonna happen.

Origin completely sucks for usability, took me and my friends ages to figure out how to use it for MP - you launch the game via a web page?! Then they updated the client or BF or one of them.., BF3 stopped working, I couldn't update it no matter what I tried, and after 35 mins on the phone to EA support I had to reinstall the whole 10Gb of game. I'm hoping that by the time ME3 comes out they'll have improved things somewhat! (fingers crossed...)

But once it's working and you're playing then the pain subsides! (ending on an up-beat note - seriously, you end up with the strong feeling that, although it costs money, at least xbox live works)

Sigh. I truly hated Windows Live and that's the reason i've never played MP with Bioshock 2, please don't scare me with Origin now... Why couldn't they just stick to Steam, it's nice and easy and logical and has this magical screenshot button ;D portal 2 co-op mode was just epic <3

edit: i'm sorry i'm not familiar with your names yet, but does anyone know anything about another chapter of that shep/kaidan/kasumi fanfic? i obviously had to forgot to bookmark it and now can't find it as i don;t even remember the author ;_;

Agree - Portal2 co-op was completely fab. No worries though, with the collective knowledge and power of the Kaidanites we'll beat Origin into submission :)
