I loved M4 Pt2 so much I bought it - then I ended up getting both soundtracks and listening to them while working - awesome stuff! Someone did a video a while back of Shepard + Kaidan highlights to that song, I remember seeing it, I always end up thinking of that when I hear that song... if anyone here has a link to it or knows the one I mean I'd love to see it again.

Have to admit, my single Throw ability in ME1 for my Infiltrator is rarely used and feels lame compared to exploding things with an overload. Never had overload in ME1 before, and I am really enjoying sniping. I always grab the sniper rifle upgrade from the collector ship on ME2 for all my characters, and it's nice to have it in ME1. Pondering whether to just push through and finish the ME1 playthrough and ignore all the side quests.... problem is I see outstanding things that could be finished and I like to finish them! We still got 3 weeks til demo, I guess I don't need to rush :)

Currently waiting for my morning meetings to be done so I can watch that IGN link!

@ Trinity: ME2 had a beautiful orchestra piece for the credits, but I do love M4 Pt. 2 as well. Another ME associated favorite is Heart of Courage, from the ME2 launch trailer.

<3 Heart of courage is probably one of my favorite songs. The suicide mission track for ME2 is incredible as well.

I could listen to Two Steps From Hell's entire collection. Just awesome stuff. I'm currently obsessed with this one.

I DO listen to Two Steps From Hell's entire collection while I work, lol.  It makes my work seem rather insignificant, but does get me fired up :)

A while back I said to my husband, "You know, there's interesting band, apparently some of their songs have been in ME trailers and such, have kind of an odd name though, Two Steps From Hell."  He just glanced over and said "yeah, we have that."  (See, we have a LOT of music, and I do mean a LOT...checks...almost 400GB, all digitized; there is simply no way I could ever keep track of all we have, and I really love music.)

I also listen to both soundtracks while working a good bit.  For the most part I prefer the ME1 soundtrack, but the ME2 music from the Omega 4 Relay onwards is simply amazing.

Throw was actually pretty sweet for dealing with the collectors on those platforms. But so was slam. And shockwave. And reave that even goes through their shields. Damn, all biotic powers are just awesome ^^

About Liara, well. There's one thing that always bugs me here, i mean, let's not even start trying to explain why on earth would she be the one to receive Sheps dog tags from Hackett, but IF HE'S MEETING LIARA for that very reason, how can he and the rest of the alliance be not aware what happened after her death. And i don't know, maybe i'm overinterpreting things, but it just doesn't suit Liara's character not to mention her doubts and final decision to anyone, especially that subconsciously she knows no one should blame her, as she doesn't have many alternatives, with the collectors and harbinger over the corner.

Oh, and speaking of the lack of logic, i still can't find any explanation to this one:
HOW is it possible that the Normandy is back on the Citadel for the final battle? Trip to Ilos took the whole long lovely night (:3) and it just seems unlikely Joker would leave the ground team before Shep orders him to and still, it was pretty damn far away >_>

Oh we must be on the same wave length because I was listening to this full blast last night while I was painting some doors for my basement (renos ewww).

AND! Okay here's what was going through my mind while hearing these lyrics:

I have wondered about you
Where will you be when this through
If all goes as planned
Will you redeem my life again?

Fire the fields the weed is sown
Water down your empty soul
Wake the sea of silent hope
Water down your empty soul

Fight your foes you're on your own
Holy war is on the phone
Asking to please stay on hold
The bleeding loss of blood runs cold

And I need you to recover
Because I can't make it on my own

I can imagine Kaidan thinking something like this while Shepard is dead, or maybe once he's heard she's alive. So then I went consipiracy theory (of course!) and wondered if Drew Karpyshyn meant for Shepard to die at the end of ME1 on first draft but dev team decided not to because of the time between the two games, would not want to make people wait that long and they wouldn't us to think the main character was really dead. But since Shepard gets an almost death at the end of ME1 and then actually dies at the beginning of ME2, it would make more sense if this had been a movie or book that Shep would disappear at the end of ME1 and their body stolen by Cerberus...

There's your crazy theory for the day! ;)

hoping Shepard Recovers "Sees things more clearly ie: Cerberus"
Maybe they did plan on killing Shepard! Im glad they didnt! People would

So I broke and finally joined Twitter, just so I could ask Raphael Sbarge a question for the audioblog.  Hope he answers it!  I asked, "When you're playing two roles at the same time (Kaidan, Dr. Hopper), do you find that one spills into the other at times?"  I'm just curious if, while we're watching OUAT and it's a scene with Dr. Hopper, is there just a little bit of Kaidan there? ^_^

i'm a bit late for this comment really, but i enjoyed shep's LI giving him/her support and the almost-kiss moment. i found it far more satisfying than the scene in the cabin because it shows that shep is not an unyielding tower of strength, and for the tension th almost-kiss generates  Image IPB

I got Reave with my soldier and it's awesome! Literally saved me a few times already.

*sigh* Liara...I don't even know what to think of her anymore. Setting aside the whole "recovering Shepard's body and giving it to Cerberus", I think she should have mentioned something to Hackett, or even Anderson. I mean, at this point, she's the only one with amicable ties to the Alliance who knows what happened to Shepard. And I still maintain that she would be the best person to talk to the VS and explain to them that Shepard died and that Liara was the one that delivered the body to Cerberus.

You know, I've always wondered how (and why) Joker left behind the ground team and got to the Citadel so fast. That's right up there with how did Kirrahe's team survive when Ash didn't.  I mean, if the salarian team got rescued, why was Ashley left behind? Image IPB

Someone did a really nice Shenko video to go with Heart of Courage:

I also particularly like this one:   I think the song is just perfect for it, and I love the little cheat in this that has Kaidan tell Shepard "I love you"!

(Hope the links work - although you've probably all seen these already!!)

And I love that Faunts song too ...

Because Bioware is a meanie and wouldn't let us have both our BFF and our LI... :/ That's how I felt the first time around. I rescued Kaidan because he was my romance but I was really torn about giving up Ashley. I guess that was the point..

For Virmire theres 2 squads of salarians, one with kirrahe, one with ash/kai, only one team makes it out. According to the wiki as soon as joker dumps you on ilos he hits the relay again to go round up the alliance, it wouldnt really make much sense for the normandy to hang about in orbit with all those geth ships around.

Also to me it wouldn't make a huge amount of sense for Liara to go chatting to anyone about what she did with shep's body. I mean she never spoke to hackett in me1 (only shep did and even that was only through comms) and theres only one or two occassions after she joins the crew that shep talks to anderson. Baring in mind that the alliance are currently viewing cereberus as terrorists and she doesn't have anyone powerful to protect her, why would she walk up to a senior alliance official and admit in handing their hero's corpse over to terrorists?! Much more sensible option for her was to keep her head down and hope. At least thats my opinion :D

Ah, that makes sense. Having two squads of salarians. I figured Kirrahe would be leading one team and Ash/Kai another, but I assumed they were all near each other since Kirrahe makes several comments throughout the mission where he's ordering Ash/Kai. And I understand the need to round up the Alliance and leaving orbit because of the geth ships, but, at that time, Joker doesn't know that Shep and team will eventually make it to the Citadel. In his mind, s/he is still back on Ilos. I guess that's why he's so surprised when Shep opens the communications channel? "Please let that be you, Commander".

As for Liara, it's more a personal thing for me. My Shep doesn't blame her for what she did, but she's a little miffed that she's had to answer to everyone's doubts and accusations when Liara knew all along that Shepard was "alive", so to speak. In my head canon, I would really want her to talk to Kaidan and explain exactly what happened.

Sorry...I'm just a little po'd that Bioware keeps shoving Liara down our throats. Image IPB Don't get me wrong, I really like her...but BW is making it really easy for me to start hating her, lol.

Yes I love that scene too. I think they've hinted that in ME3 we'll get to see more emotion on Shepard's part. After the events of ME2 I think Shep is ready to give convention the finger and let her military mask slip off. Very much looking forwards to that.

About Liara, I kind of like to pick the response where Shep gets angry with her for recovering her body. But I actually don't feel mad about what she did, I figure being alive is better than being dead, most of the time. It is a little bit creepy that Liara game Shep's body to Cerberus when she didn't know what they would do (and we probably still don't know everything they did), but in the choice between giving the body to Cerberus or the Collectors I'd pick Cerberus any day. Still, there was always the choice to just cremate the body so nobody could have it, which is what I believe Kaidan would have done.

I used to like Liara quite a lot in the first game, but she's becoming a bit much...Loved LotSB, but I really don't need her as a permanent squaddie in ME3. She'd be better off hanging out at the SB-base giving me occasional intel and allowing me to read everybody's secret messages.

When Kaidan asks you at the locker scene about doing something to go after Saren, pick up the middle answer, then Shep will say "I just need to figure it out" or something like that IIRC, then he says Shep always has something up her sleeve, and that's what he lov-appreciates about her. :wizard:

EDIT:
Kaidan: I’m here for you. But we’re in a rough spot, and the last thing I want to do is muddy things. Like it’s all that clear to begin with. Are we the pride of the fleet or not? Are we valued agents or just peons?
Neutral – Depends on who you ask: I’m sick of it too. Maybe we need to take a little initiative.o Kaidan: You have something up your sleeve, Shepard? What am I saying? When don’t you? That’s what I l– appreciate about you.

Right I was under the impression that she'd stay on as the shadow broker. However she probably found what she needed and might have just shut down the entire operation at the start of ME3 considering the galaxy has bigger problems. Still we don't really need Liara at all, she's just Bioware's golden hugh blue girl so she's not going anywhere...

I have a guess at that why Hackett gave Liara Shepard dog tags.  As you know you get a mail from Hackett tell Shepard that Alliance Command found where the Normandy crash site is. So what if Hackett crew only found Shepard dog tags and didn't have time to find the rest of the dog tags, and let Shepard locate the dog tags for her/himself to give her/himself closure.
