More idiotic than the kid that turned up, said that he was laughing his ass off that people actually liked Kaidan, compared Kaidan to a rock and then said 'lol, I'm only kidding!' And then called me Adolf for some reason.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think Kaidan+Ashley works better than either of them with Shepard.

Yeah. And I love them both. I don't want to break either of their hearts. But when the time comes I'll choose Garrus. In my first playthrough Kaidan broke my heart on Horizon and Garrus put me back together. That feeling has stuck with me, even after exploring other options.
That being said, I don't know if I'll do that playthrough first because I really want to see a happy ending for Shep and Kaidan. I don't know if I have the will the break his heart in my first playthrough.

See that's the thing about love triangles. I love the drama when it's happening, the different dynamics, plus it makes you feel good when two characters care about you that much. But I hate the end because someone's going to get hurt, really badly. You can't pick them both. I like writing love triangles, but I can never write the end because it's just never satisfying. One guy's always just standing there like, 'That's great, you guys. You go ahead and live happily ever after *sigh*" Either that or someone dies, which sucks too. 

I still can't bring myself to romance two people in ME for this reason. A little flirting is fine but a full fledged romance makes things really complicated.

Debatable, depending on your Shepard, but their banter certainly paints them as being a natural pair.

I think I pretty much have the same reasons as everyone here for liking Kaidan <3 I like that he's really adult and level-headed. He's not afraid to voice his opinions and do whatever he thinks is right. Some of his dialogue is golden too -- "What? You don't think they're here for the food?" and well... I just love his romance.

As for Miranda? Tbh, I didn't really put her in my squad. So I don't really have a valid opinion of her yet. When I play ME2 on my current Shepard next, I think I'll put her in my squad more. She seems cool though. I've seen people ship the Miranda/Kaidan pairing. I don't really understand it (for now at least), but I wonder if they'll interact much in ME3.

They had such good chemistry. I think if Shepard hadn't romanced either of them, they would've gotten together. I guess we'll never find out though. Bah.

I can see Ashley crushing over Kaidan. But I can't see Kaidan returning that. Ash is too direct and out there for him IMO. Kaidan would work better with Miranda. If they could ever learn to trust each other.

If something about Shep's interaction with Kaidan bothered you and you came in here to get it off your chest (or to clarify some member of this thread saying something about you). Then yeah I'd get coming into a thread where you didn't like the character.

Kaidan + Miranda? Definitely not.

Miranda is to brutal and cold for Kaidan. Likewise, Miranda would probably not show any interest in Kaidan, given her personality.
