We were talking about when the demo gets hacked, which is inevitable. You can get alot of info.  Quoting yoshibb 
" hack the demo after release and find out the whole story of the game like in DA2. Or like when the parts about the Protheans being collectors were spoiled for ME2" So you can find out alot by hacking a demo.  Just like when the demo was originally hacked and the whole script was leaked. 

I'm hoping those people will have the decency to post in the existing spoilers group. I know that once the demo hits I am firmly staying in this thread because I know you guys will behave. Right? :happy:

well hopefully people will remember to let others know if their post has spoilers so we can avoid it, however, it's the ones that respond to said spoiler posts that always get me. Because the responders forget to say that their post includes a spoiler.

Phew!  I think I got everything covered...oh! Before I forget...is anyone herea fan of The Big Bang Theory? I was watching an episode the other day and the guys were at the comic book store, and there were Mass Effect 2 posters all around the store. That's awesome!!  Now I'm going to have to go look for that episode.  It'll give me something to do.  I'm grouchy now because my DVR failed to record Once Upon a Time.  Hopefully it'll be up on hulu tomorrow.

I got that one on my last run through ME1 with an adept.  It actually wasn't difficult, you just have to remember to use medi-gel as soon as you get injured in battle, which for my adept was REALLY easy.

Regarding difficulty settings, I have a really weird reason for why I usually prefer lower difficulty: having my character die and then come back to life again to refight the battle they just died on, completely destroys my roleplaying immersion. If my character is the badass of the universe, it feels wrong to me if they die and then suddenly get better (don't even get me started on how hard I facepalmed over the death/resurrection Shep went through in the beginning of ME2)....it's like I feel like they would need to stay dead. Odd, I know. I suppose there's no excuse for me, but that's my reasoning. Needless to say, I have never gone after Insanity or Hardcore achievements, it would be an exercise in frustration for me.

So I'm playing LotSB and am at Liara's apartment. I guess I hadn't noticed it before, but does anyone else think it's a little creepy that Liara has Shepard's old N7 armor in a display case? I think I'm finally starting to understand why so many people think Liara is a little weird/stalker-ish.

@Soccerchic Yeah! I was totally freaked out when I visited her appartment. Well in an RP sense I was, in real life I just wanted to facepalm as it's another sign BW is just prefering Liara over any LI...

I find Liara's sudden level of caring a bit odd if you didn't romance her in ME1. I acted nice to her and all, but she never showed any signs of anything aside from curiosity and friendship towards Shep. Then she hunts down Shep's body, donates it to (possibly) one of Shep's worst enemies in hopes of reviving her/him, and acts like a very close friend in ME2. Garrus and Tali do the same. Did the Normandy have some sort of Bonding Bash after defeating Saren or something?

I agree. I think those modes are just to make it "easy" for new players to navigate and jump into the game.

Is it really that difficult to comprehend that people are entitled to memorialize people who've been important to them? Would you think it creepy if Garrus kept Shepard's dog tags, for instance?

Moreover, there's the entirety of Redemption to consider. I find it more than understandable that Liara would keep something to remember that time period with her, something to remind her of what she had done, and what she was trying to do.

I know this is all completely off-topic, but keeping mementos does not equal "Whagle!STALKERORZ!!!1!"

Yes and Yes.  It is my understanding that there will be all the standard difficulty settings available, beyond the new story/rpg/action choices (presumably only if you choose rpg?).  Also, the devs have definitely said that "normal" is the new "veteran" - we can only assume that translates across all the difficulty levels, though I'm guessing that if you choose the new "story" setting you still get true "casual", but if you choose "rpg" then choose "casual" it is closer to the old "normal." 

You know, they may be making it easier and more accessible to new players, but they sure aren't making it any easier for us, are they?

I think it makes perfect sense for a ROMANCED Liara to behave that way; for a Shepard who didn't romance her or wasn't particularly nice to Liara, it's ridiculous and weird. As far as I'm concerned, that's why canon "friendships" need to die in a fiery blaze. Allow the player to roleplay and set appropriate flags through their choices, and no creepiness need be there.

And I'm not picking on Liara either. If Kaidan suddenly hugged non-romanced Shepards on Horizon it would be equally annoying, since lots of Shepards hate him, and the ability to roleplay as you see fit should be preserved.

Ohhh ok!! Well that's cool then. I was worried they took them away in favor of ultimate dumbing down. But no, yay! 

And whether Liara is a stalker or not isn't really the issue, it's just that the care given to her and other characters as opposed to the VS is a little off putting for some of us. 

Like when my Shepard was like "Garrus!!" Gee I would really have liked a similar reaction to seeing Kaidan again, but no here's what we got: "Hey man, wassup? We should totally hang again, just like old times.." Whut? Seriously Shepard. I know we've all made our excuses so far about that line, but still you know what I mean. If Bioware let's us pick our LIs and friends maybe we should be able to pick how we greet them after not having seen them for some time. :S
