Just out of curiousity (and after watching the escape from Earth demo a few dozen times) is anyone else concerned that very first, post-Horizon reunion is going to be held "off camera" It just seems to me that the VS (Ashley in the demo at least) nor Shepard seem very surprised to see each other at that moment. It could also just be that the Reapers are attacking of course....

Thoughts?

Well, I'm pretty sure Shepard was aware Anderson and the VS were talking over the radio, so it could well be their first meeting and it would still make sense for neither to be surprised.  Ashley knew Shepard was with Anderson and Shepard knew Ashley was with the Normandy

I thought about that too. It was like "Urhm, Shepard? That's Ash (Kai)! Ain't you gonna gasp even a little???". It was just weird. Even a 1 second eye shoot ackowledging Shepard's surprise/joy to see the VS on the Normandy landing would be better than what we saw in the demo.

The VS could have been present during the trial, which I assume happens before what we saw in the demo. Would be really interesting if they're called as a witness, or if they're there for support.

That's what I hope will happen. I can only imagine all the swooning from having the Commander Kaidan called as a character witness for little old Shepard

Yeah we haven't seen the actually beginning of the game. Shepard could have easily meet Kaidan earlier than what the demo showed. Joisan is right, Shepard heard the VS speaking moments before the Normandy swooped in to the rescue. Unless Shepard has taken a few too many blows to the head then she shouldn't be surprised to see them there. Also, I'm going to assume that the romantic version of the reunite might play out a bit differently. Finally, as awesome as Kaidan might be, I bet giant Cthulu that are making Earth very unpleasant might, just might, be more present in Shepard's mind then seeing Kaidan again. Only a guess though...

Yeah....I think they were too busy at the moment to acknowledge one another if it was a first time meeting...If Joker and the VS are both on the Normandy I would think there would have been some kind of reconciliation before the trial...hopefully we will get a scene(keeping fingers crossed for an interactive one).

I just hope they don't drag the Horizon thing out...like they have to work through it over several conversations...or at worst put it off and let it hang over their heads for a while...I mean with the news of the consequences of cheating coming to play at the worst possible time I could see that playing out further on in the game..It's possible they might so the same with the Horizon stuff. Personally after this long as a a player I'm over it...I want Shep to be over it too and get on to the making up.

Considering the dire situation in the storyline, I don't think they'll make the Horizon debacle drag out. A lot of players will be /headdesking over it every time you make rounds to talk to your crew when on the Normandy. Plus with the reapers taking out all forms of organic life, Shepard will be too busy trying to get a galactic fleet together to have the whole "RAWRYOUWEREANASSRAWR" and then make up scenario.

Makes sense. I still just really hope that whenever that first meeting does occur, that it does so in-game and not just a reference to it occuring at some point between the end of ME2 and the beginning of ME3...with better dialogue options than "Hey Kaidan, how've ya been?"

Poor Lilith. Her only crime was appearing next to Kaidan the first time we see him. Then she ends up smoothied no matter what.

I am curious about the doctor. I'd be actually relieved if it's Chloe Michel. Then I'd imagine she was talking about how cool Garrus is all evening during the date. I'm okay with that.

Lilith was nothing and he said friends basically made him go out with this doctor. Don't worry gurls, he's still madly in love with Shep, he couldn't hide it on Horizon
