@yoshibb: I think there are certain things with the VS that people don't like. That as much as I can say without spoiling anything. I haven't read the leaks, but I have stumbled across some leaked info unintentionally.

@oddlyotter: your example with the Dr. isn't accurate. She isn't denying that she works for Bioware. Your analogy isn't even close.

And I'm done talking about this tedious topic. She wasn't disrespecting the VS, nor was Silverman. The negativity that is feeding this thread is an absolute bummer. I wish people wouldn't take things so personally when devs express their opinions.

I read some of it. I'm okay with it, it depends on how you've treated them so far... ME1/2 counts. But I do not have a complete picture of it.

Haven't read anything on Jacob, so wouldn't know. As for Kaidan, I'm not sure which part you're referring to (or if you're referring to all of it) but I didn't think it was bad. Plus I have no doubt it's going to look much better in the game (example: I thought the "dancing" scene with Vega was silly in the script - I think it turned out great in the game).

Okay..... You totally didn't understand it then. It was saying that if you don't want to be scrutinized don't put a sign saying "Hey guess what I work for this place!" If they didn't want that kind of attention for what they say, they would leave that out. THEREFORE it is not a personal twitter account. Therefore what they say can be taken as their opinion as an employee rather than just their personal opinion.

THEREFORE saying that "well it's just their opinion, they have that right to voice their opinion." Is moot when they are representing the company. IF they weren't then they'd leave of working for bioware.

Let's summarize here:
People are not in the wrong for taking the tweets as the words from them as bioware employees.


By saying they are in the wrong is overlooking that they are representing the company when they make public accounts which detail their position in the company. It's called marketing and public relations. You don't mention where you work and what position if you just want random tweets about whatever.

Yes, some went a little overboard with how they reacted to it but their reactions are justified when it comes to it being bioware employees making the comments on their bioware related twitter accounts. Arguing over if it was a personal opinion or not is just a waste since, as I explained already, they are representing their company.

Sad that I had to explain that :/

They probably hear their dialogues 50+ times a day while they debug / test / tear apart areas of the game. So, yeah. I would also be going "WHAT NOW YOU ANNOYING VS! I KNOW ALREADY." after the 50 millionth time hearing it on repeat.

First of all, there was three files (or one folder) leaked, and version which terrified everyone is from oldest and seems to be absent from more recent versions.

I agree with Mr. Walters on this question - Kaidan's development completely fits under "he's a leader on his own" for me. I won't say ME3 Kaidan is completely the same ME1 Kaidan, but knowing what happened between ME1 and 2 and what happens in ME3 I'd say this reaction is totally expected.

I don't like where Ashley is going, but I wasn't watching her closely so can't say. Fans seem to be happy, so I guess it's okay.

of ME3 depends that I keep buying their products in the future...
But you know, for me Bioware changed when EA bought them, as I said, it all depends of that game...
I've read the leaks (and I wasn't happy with lots of things) and now I'm just keeping on my hopes (even if the devs keep bashing our characters and ignoring our questions) At least they cannot say anymore that "there's some love for Kaidan, but not alot" on Mr.Hudson's words on a IGN interview...

To be honest, I don't know what the hell are they doing with the ME universe anymore *cough, cough, Deception book, cough, cough*

and thanks to Raphael Sbarge I'm still interested on see what's going to happen in ME3, so Bioware is not doing their "marketing" magic very well, it seems....

If anyone else has recommendations, please let me know.  I love reading fanfic, but these days I'm trying to find time to be creative as much as I can, so scanning ff.net or AO3 is a low priority, unless it's plugged here.  So everyone please share if you find great fiction and art!

I read the leak, and the answer is yes.  He's going to ****** you the hell off . That's why I'm not upset even in the slightest about whatever that person said.

If Jessica Merizan makes a twitter account with her own name in it, than that's her personal twitter account.
The fact that she has her profession / workplace under her description just helps people who want to follow her for ME teasers, or who want to contact her for business reasons know that it is the right Jessica Merizan. At the same time, just because she works somewhere does not mean she is obliged to talk about her work from a marketing perspective 24/7. Even so, if she removed the info which she has full right to include in her profile, some hardcore fans would still find her profile and still ask questions about her job and then interpret what she says freely / overreact about it. It goes with the job I guess, there's no way around it. You're free to have opinions on her personal views, but you have no right to demand she weigh her every word.

I haven't read any spoilers, but the more the game is being marketed, the more wary I am of actually purchasing the game. I might rent it first from Redbox or something. BioWare just seems to be in a steady decline and it breaks my heart. I even forced myself to write a blog post about it.

It's so funny that you mention this because I finally tried talking to Jacob a couple of days ago. Other than asking about upgrades or going to him in regards to his loyalty mission, I always kinda avoided him. So, I took a deep breath, walked into the armory and....  Every single option - be it paragon, neutral, or renegade - makes Shepard sound like such a perv! And it's hilarious because Jacob gives you this weird look and says something like, "Uh...I don't want to make this any weirder so I'll let you go Shepard...Commander". And the dialogue wheel has something like "Goodbye", but Shepard says, "You can't brush me off that easily, Taylor" in a weird, flirty voice. I was like, "Noooo! I actually meant 'goodbye'!" Weirdest. Conversation. Ever. I haven't talked to him since then.

Anyway, can you guys believe we're already on the second day of February? January took forever to finish, and it seems like February is gonna go by so fast!

Thank you for everyone who answered since I don't want to read the leaks. I was just getting a little bit worried about it since it seemed like a lot of people hated their role. I don't care if it's controversial, so long as they have their due character development and that the stuff that I love about Kaidan isn't completely gone. After Horizon, though, I can't see anything more disappointing than that.

And it takes a lot to annoy me anyway. The constant ****ing of Anders and Fenris in DA2 for example didn't really get on my nerves that much.
