Russians often say "when you're silent about someone's actions, that person decides he does everything right". I'd surely prefer we don't have to cut corners and create threads with baits or spam Silverman, but sometimes something should be said.

Oh, I like that, mineralica. Can you give me the actual Russian words? I remember very little from my Russian language course other than 'shto etta' and 'etta Pavel' but I have always loved the language. Oh, I guess I remember how to swear in Russian, but I don't think I should be proud of that, lol.

That's rather popular and varying subject. The shortest version will "молчишь - значит, так и надо" [molchish' - znachit, tak i nado]; bard's poetic version from late Soviet period would be "Вот так просто попасть в - палачи: Промолчи, промолчи, промолчи!" ("it's simple to join a butchers - be silent, be silent, be silent").

And Russians are extremely proud with swearing possibilities and foreigners who use this possibilities. The fact that you can slap some swear roots with random prefixes and suffixes and it would count as another swear word create infinite field for expressions.

This is off topic but I found this:

"I can confirm that the FemShep that we see in this trailer is not our default, but one that has been created in-game.
The default FemShep that you are presented with at the creation screen is a white female with brunette hair in a bob cut hairstyle and has blue eyes, quite a step away from the red-head, green eyed FemShep that fans voted for on the Mass Effect Facebook to grace the cover of the special edition."

For those interested about the femshep in the recent video footage and the part about the default shep.
Here's a link to the article if you want to read it.

An update from the same page:

UPDATE: Bioware Edmonton’s Community Manager, Jessica Merizan has gotten in touch regarding this matter. “There are two options on the character creation screen “Default” and “Custom”. I believe that the brunette Shepard you are describing is one of several “custom” options that you can then edit. The “Default” Shepard is the redhead you see in the trailer. She is not customizable (similar to Dragon Age II or how the male Shepard option has been in the past).”

My 2 cents worth :

The devs and other bioware people can express their personal opinions in tweets but when it's a month before game release and it's the most marketing we see the constant negative bias towards Kaidan gets old real quick. I can understand people taking what they say seriously because the tweets are what people are using to find out about the game because we're not getting a lot from the 'official' marketing.

I can't say I'm thrilled with the script from the leaks and am still undecided about even getting ME3. Thank god for Raphael Sbarge, he's done more marketing and swayed me more towards the game than Bioware has done for me. They really need to send him a big bonus for the marketing hes done for them..

Then quit responding to it. If you don't want to talk about it anymore, then talk about something else and ignore the people who haven't had a chance to say something. Best way to drop it. /shrug

I've moved on from the last page, we've got confirmation that yes Kaidan can be in the demo (hurray!), that we'll something to squee about, and Kaidan is in the upcoming FemShep trailer.

Color me satisfied. For now.

Well that's good to hear, but I hope we get to see better shots cause she doesn't really look like the image that was voted on besides the hair.

Actually I've been thinking about the "marketing" going on for ME3 and truthfully I think what they are doing is kind of smart. I mean the less info released the more the fans salivate for any little drop of it. It keeps the product on the forefront of the customer's mind. Plus it's the last game in a trilogy you want to keep everyone talking and guessing what the game is going to be like. I think the less we know the more thrilling the game actually will be. I think it is a very smart move. If that is what they are trying to do.

Edit: Also has everyone marked their calendar for Feb. 7th cause that's when you can check if you get early MP access.

I did stop. But I do respond when they quote me and respond to something I've said. (Yes, even after I posted that I was done with this conversation.) I don't ignore people when they address me. I consider that rude, so I responded.

On topic: I can't wait for the demo. A trailer is nice, and I knew they were going to show Kaidan in the femShep version, but to actually hear him in game is going to be great even if it's just for a short part.

Yeah though it needs less Liara and Garrus and more VS, Vega and Tali

^This I agree with.^

With ME2, Bioware got scolded for revealing too much. Now they are being super careful and they get scolded for not saying enough.

By and large, I don't consider it rude (not online, anyway).  So from now on, feel free to ignore me whenever.  ^_^

Anyway.  Kaidan.

Thank you!! How nerdy of me is it that I like the bard's poetic version better? The Промолчи, промолчи, промолчи! And I believe the ability of the russian language to slap prefixes and suffixs on a word...or even a name...to create an entirely new one was something I loved about it.

Existing fans only who are on the forums. So no I don't agree with this philosophy. Especially since the focus has been mostly on combat and little else. For an RPG this sort of marketing is making me a sad panda bear. I've seen games with smaller budget do more with less. So meh.

You're welcome. And about second version - you're definitely not alone: everyone who know about Soviet bards prefer this version and cite it at every possibility.

Oh, and I'll try to pull transcription, but this would be long: [Vot tak prosto popast' - v palachi: promolchi, promolchi, promolchi!].

Edit: oh well, ToP. Forgive me but I'm hypnotised. Anyone surprised?
