2nd, May I ask you guys (anyone who wants to answer) what made you fans of Kaidan? Was it his character or the story between femshep and him? Forgive me if it's already been asked but I wasn't able to read all almost 1000 pages of the thread, so I'll have to throw it out there into the universe. lol
Well what first drew me to Kaidan was, yes, his looks. He is soo handsome and on top of that he has a sexy voice and is a good guy. If he was a complete moron I wouldnt like him at all. Hes a good guy and looks like he'd give a good bear hug

It's kind of weird but his looks totally put me off at first. I see Kaidan for the first time and I'm like - oh hellooo, I think I've located the oh-so-handsome male LI for femshep doooh >.< And hearing his voice didn't help much either at first cause ofc I did recognise Mr Sbarge and while I loved Carth as a character, I really disliked his design (don't know why, just thought he looked strange and it was all in my head whenever I heard Kaidan).
So yea, even tho Kaidan had a difficult start with me, he somehow managed to change my view of him with:
- an awesome backstory (you know, the "boring" biotic from BAaT who killed his instructor, got over the trauma and decided to use his biotics to do some good out there),
- his usefulness in combat (he's practically a one man army with biotics, decryption, first aid and other skills - I loved how I could "dump" all that on him and save some points on my Sheps),
- his detailed design (his faaace, I just loved all those little things like scars etc, don't think any other human had so many details - that's why I'm looking forward to his improved textures in ME3),
- his character development (ok Horizon writing was a bit silly, but I like challenging relationships so I like where this is going in ME3).
Ok so I'm glad I got that out of my system. I feel much better now

Mostly his level-headedness and views on human-alien relationship. I've often felt that Kaidan is basically stealing my Shepard's lines.darksoulenigma wrote...

Then it was humor (my favourite part starts with "sun, sand, surf... and geth"). Hey, that guy can not only think, but joke too!
And, of course, that adorable slips. The line which sealed the deal belongs to dialogue with Lorik Qui'in ("Yeah, that's kind of stuff you can find at extranet fetish sites... what?").

He certainly is better than Ashely, that is for sure.

Yeah i totally crushed on Carth yeears ago (first pixel crush!) and tbh i'd totally forgotten about his voice and then Kaidan spoke and i totally did a double take and then squealed like mad. Tbh they could have written Kaidan as a total jerk but with that voice id never have noticed or cared lol.

He is level headed. He is mature. He is clever. He is serious. He is kind. He doesn't follow Shepard blindly. He has his own opinions. And he can be funny too.
With femshep he is sweet, caring, respectful, a bit shy, ans makes adorable slips.
He is neither dominant, nor dominated. I love how femshep and him interact. They embody the perfectly balanced relationship in my (feminist) mind.
And he is interested in her from the very begining. The romance with him seems natural, and not awkward like the romances in ME2.
I find his background very interesting, and moving, and very coherent with his personality in the game. I can't help but admire what he has overcome to become what he is when he meets femshep.
As for the looks... Well, yes, he is handsome (his body is perfect
But the looks alone are not enough to make me like a character (believe it or not, I was very disapointed when Mordin told that he was not interested in a relationship with my femshep in ME2

I played DA:O before ME, so I had a hunch that Kaidan was romanceable (I had too check the wiki to confirm before I got too attached though). I loved the relationship with Alistair so much that I was almost disappointed at how cautious and quiet Kaidan was. But that's what makes him fantastic! Kaidan has flaws and he feels so much more real. Plus, the story arc is being fleshed out over 3 games, which is a huge win.

. But what is reaaaally charming are his facial and body expressions. In fact I find him more expressive than Shepard himself. He was very carefully animated. And his voice is very sexy too.
Oh c'mon, Kaidan's hair is the business! Hairbump ftw!

Due to the lack of coverage of Kaidan and with all those articles involving the first 90 minutes preview thing going on today... I've a BURNING question: Will Kaidan survive until the end of the game (ok I know we won't know for sure yet until the main game but I want to hear what the leak said about him)?
Please PM me with the answer, thanks

secondly, why do i like kaidan... thats a hard question. but i think it just comes down to loyalty. my shepard had a relationship with him in me1and lets be honest i only romanced another jacob during one playthrough because there was an acheivment for it:sick:. it was just painful.
so yeah i stuck with kaidan.

he's actually not my type in the looks department, but that's okay; shep shouldn't get too distracted from saving the galaxy. it's his charming personality, as summarised by Altie, that i like. Most especially the part where he isn't a dominator or the dominated. that's important.

Yes. All of this. Except for the hair thing. I always imagined it as a fauxhawk and I am okay with that. Gives him a little personality even when wearing his military uniform.Altie wrote...
