@mineralica - Thanks for the Deception news! I tried to keep up with that thread, but it was moving way too fast for me. I'm so glad that BioWare listened to the fans' concerns. I might even look into getting this new version of Deception.

Also, finally caught up on encounter. It's great!! Keep it up, can't wait for the next installment.

I was fine with Horizon. I wish more people would have challenged Shepard about Cerebus and the resurrection, TBH.

Shepard came back from the DEAD and was working with a terrorist organization.  Anyone with a modicum of common sense would think Shepard was either insane or compromised. Why would the VS, a career alliance soldier (and possibly a spectre),  just committ treason (or at the very least be guilty of desertion) and wander off with Shepard? Because Shepard asked them to? That really doesn't make sense.

I was totally fine with Horizon also. I can understand why Kaidan or Ashley felt the way they did and why they walked away. Like eveyone else, I just hate Shepard's dialogue options. 

I hope there's some conflict between them in ME3. I don't want a repeat of DA2 where Hawke is totally fine when Fenris finally decides to be with her. That was so frustruating! I wanted an option where I could have yelled at him and slap him haha.

I'm a dork...what does VS mean?

Don't know if anyone answered this but I read an article on computerandvideogames.com that said there would be tension because the VS (in this case Ashley, and I'm guessing Kaidan will have the same feelings) didn't quite trust Shepard due to their previous connection with Cerberus. So I think your wish has been granted.

I agree with it totally. I didn't have a problem with Horizon but I am glad BW isn't dropping the ball and sweeping that situation or how the VS feels under the rug. Plus I have been reading articles which Mike Gamble states you should hold on to your save files when you have finished the game. Wondering what that's about. Maybe there will be some type of carry over into whatever BW's next ME game will be maybe endgame DLC. Sounds intriguing.

I would say it depends on the Shepard.  Is she more inclined to hang with turian renegade snipers, or level-headed human sentinels?

I of course, am completely biased.  But I think both Garrus and Kaidan will have satisfying conclusions to the romance in ME3.  (I hope, anyway.)

Well I created this Shep as a Spacer/War Hero/ultra paragon........yet with a crush for the bad boys.... so she and Garrus and scope and drop together ( ha ha!)

Its just hard NOT romancing anyone in ME1.....

Garrus is just... her fellow sniping bad boy.....

I think Garrus is a nice choice...I have a femshep that romanced him (she was single), Ipretty much think that every squadmate has their charms...

just popping in to say that Geira, you just keep and getting more and more amazing, each new painting you do is better then the other.. its incredible.

(as far as romance - have done everyone so far, with only two disloyal Shepards.  I think every LI has thier charms and their points, I just create Shepards that I feel would fit best with them)

Ugh Horizon. I really think they should have varied the lines more... or something. It seemed fine for Ashley to react like that but I still feel Kaidan was at least a LITTLE out of character. I can still see why he reacted that way, but ughhhh.

I think Me3 will be better on that front though.

Yeah no.. Nuh huh. Give me some Kai-Kai sweet buns any time before the Jacob super T build. He is a cool guy though, which is why I think the writers have done this character a huge disservice in ME2 in freaking out enough of those who play FemShep with the sexed up dialogue that we totally ignore him. I would have like to get to know him better but my initial reaction was to not like him. And it wasn't his fault! 

Looking forwards to better dialogue trees in 3 and relationships that make more sense according to how you choose to play them out.

I agree, with her being my only real choice in ME1 I decided to give her ago (Ashley always dies, 2 reasons Spidermans "Everybody gets one" and Kaidan is a long standing and higher ranking (more useful?) member of Shepards team who also gets on better with the various other team members). But the whole time all her lines where just screaming "CREEPER" at me, not senserity or sweetness. Found nothing Sincere in that romance story at all and frankly in both ME1 +2 she feels like little more then fanservice thats far to forced on to us. Maybe I'm just bias though because I loved the story building behind the Shadow broker in one and give him the information as he's someone you'd want a favour from but LotSB tore that to shreds further more the faithful romances weren't rewarded or mentioned in that dlc where you can mention all the new ones and carry on with her. She even states how wrong the romance she is a major advocate in making from one is wrong regarding the saviour/victim relationship. Lets not even go for the other purpose "Embracing Eternity" can serve... Or the fact shepard is her first crush she rushes into.
People can rant and rave over the betrayal of a character they didn't create and never explicitly states he's not like that but it falls weak when you look at the manshep and femshep convos being so simalar in ME1 just certain lines aren't said and options not there to put forward, still for his story I'd agree it'd be a betrayal if they remade one and made him bi and available in the original part because he seems like he'd resist the feelings more due to things being complicated then he already does for a o/s. The second being the much loved Liara flip flopping in personality, not only wrecking an otherwise interesting character in 2 but changing again in the reports of 3 to throw it all away.

Fine that you like her better but don't write off all other romances and ideas as insincrere not everyone is going to feel the same for a multitude of reasons, personally wish I could have liked her more then I do considering the major player she is in the series.

PS. VS + Shepard is actually very much a romeo and juliet tale, resistances under societies norms and rules, one thinking the other is dead and "dying" themselves of a sort and the tragic and tension filled realisation when they found out they wasn't...just has the potenial for a happier ending with 100% less posion and daggers.

I think that's the thing, I skip his dialogues most of the time, because it feels so weird to talk to him without sounding like a perv...
I like Jacob, he's a nice guy...but his writing should have been done better...

I don't know if it worked for Bekkael, but that definitely made ME laugh!  I have been feverishly working on our XBox MP stuff so I haven't visited the board in 2 days. I guess I missed a lot. Once we get toward the release everything moves so fast.

I am also currently doing another ME2 run so I remember all of the names of people and places encountered in ME2. did not realize I had THREE level 60 ME1 characters instead of two (turns out I have 2 paragons, one renegade; I thought I only had one of each to import) and I am TOTALLY mixing it up with this new paragon. Although it breaks my heart, I had my Shepard "romance" Garrus, as I thought that would make for a more interesting story in ME3 compared to Thane. Although I will say there is something about walking into the captain's quarters and seeing Kaidan's picture turned face down that makes me feel very uneasy.

I am also finding out that if you have high enough paragon (or renegade, I assume), you can still make people loyal even if you don't "support" them on their loyalty missions. I did not let Zaeed kill Vido, nor did I let Garrus kill Sidonis, and they still love me, lol. I am happy I am doing this playthough, as all of my ME2 Sheps created from my first ME1 paragon were just too similar: stay loyal to Kaidan, make everyone happy on their loyalty missions even if it goes against your character, etc. etc.

For those of you with multiple playthroughs, did you find it hard to "mix things up" and make choices you did not want to make for variety's sake? I'm curious.

I always end up with the same overall choices, I play paragon or paragade (some people seem to be asking for it the Mass effect universe) my friend only does she-b*itch renegade and it makes me feel so bad watching it.

And i've only cheated with my maleshep. Not a big alien-relations fan and I couldnt stand talking to jacob because shepard went all super perv when talking to him. NO SHEP GET OFF THAT TABLE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? OH GOD. DOWN DOWN.

Really that worked with Zaeed. I usually am maxed out in paragon but Zaeed was still disloyal. I need to run through ME and ME2 again. As for multiple playthroughs, I tend to vary some of the sidequests but I stick to the same decisions for the major stuff. I find it difficult to choose some of the renegade options. However, the renegade interrupts are often very funny.

:lol: That's what put me off the Jacob romance for a long time, but after listening to Jenova's positive experience, I gave it a try and Jacob is... It's too bad about the way FemShep speaks to Jacob, but if you stick your fingers in your ears and go LALALALALALALA the icky lines are over pretty quickly. I hope the Jacobmance gets a good resolution in ME3 or I will be a sad panda.
