I hope the Jacobmance gets a good resolution in ME3 or I will be a sad panda.

Ha, I remember my first ME2 playthrough, I thought, well I hate Cerberus, but this Jacob guy doesn't seem so terrible, and he's way nicer than Miranda, maybe we can be friends.  And then Shepard had to be a creep about it, so it didn't work out.  Plus, Garrus showed up like two missions later and my Shep had all the best friend she needed.

Edit: I do have a Shepard in ME1 who I'm planning on getting with Jacob in ME2.  If I can just get past those first few convos, maybe I can make it to the priiiize.

I play in earphones, so it only required turning subtitles on and removing earphones. It's far better written than said; except maybe "the priiize" line.

so, uh as i've got 8 femsheps and currently am finally playing me2 as a manshep, i guess i can share i admit that at the beginning i couldn't roleplay a character that was completely diffetent to myself, so i ended up with mostly paragades around. but as you cover "your" dialog option too many times, the curiosity begins to be unbearable ^^' and that's how my ultimate renegades were born, that took some effort and planning, but i managed to kill the half of my squad, screw up with timmy and the base AND discovered some truly epic lines which i've been missing the whole time. and although i'm not sure if i'll be importing all of them to me 3, (i bet that mr. james prob won't even survive long enough to see a single reaper on earth as all the ladies he is going to play with pretty soon would get to him first x), it definitely was fun, so don't be afraid to try it. you can always make a break and go stare at kaidan's pic on your other shep's desk to keep you sane in the process ;3

oh, and, believe it or not, i'm not a big fan of jacob either, but i must admit he has a few really good lines in his romance dialog, i think he's the only new LI who actually acknowledges sheps past relationship and reffers to it:
*let me find my screen and quote*

"I feel sorry for those other people, Shepard. Know why they all changed? They lost you. I get how hard would that be".

and thenyou can discuss with him your frustration, the burden you hold and so on, i was rather impressed with it.

Really that worked with Zaeed. I usually am maxed out in paragon but Zaeed was still disloyal. I need to run through ME and ME2 again. As for multiple playthroughs, I tend to vary some of the sidequests but I stick to the same decisions for the major stuff. I find it difficult to choose some of the renegade options. However, the renegade interrupts are often very funny.

The reputation bars are a pain in the butt. I have full paragon and yet I can't settle the fight between Miranda and Jack. What? The whole points based system they did is horrible and I really hope they change it in ME3.

What happens to all the Paragon points after you fill the bar? I usually max out by the time I hit loyalty missions (which I do prior to the Reaper IFF), so the 100+ extra points have to count for something, right?

Also, I haven't been following the thread very closely for the past two days, any audioblogs I missed? (I saw part 1 and 2).

Edit: Geez, I don't know how you guys do it. I've tried mixing up my playthroughs, romancing different people, changing Shep's look or gender, being evil, etc, but I just can't. I always end up replaying my Canon, occasionally just with a different class. I think I've gotten stuck in the canon-rut

I don't actually have a "canon" character. I have three that are really special to me, and the other four I play just for the variants. I enjoy exploring my split personalites the different options with different roleplaying choices. :innocent: Replayability is my favorite thing about BioWare games.

Yes, I wanted to go for Jacob instead of Garrus or Thane in this playthrough (I'm not a big alien-relations fan either, but what the heck), but I just cannot get over ****tyShep's infamous "I'm just interested in talking for a bit." Um, no. With that tone and the way you are sitting on that table, you must have a very interesting definition of talking. Does her voice really stay that way if you pursue a Jacob romance? I pray pray pray she does not use that tone in ME3 with Kaidan.

See? What a great line from Jacob.  I know I am missing out on stuff like this when I play the game the same every. single. time. I just find it so hard to change, even when I feel bored from running through the same lines. Hearing stuff like this helps me in getting over that, so thanks! :happy:

Woooo late to everything in the thread. I guess that's what I get for lurking for a few days. 

@Jacob - I romanced him once, and I remember being surprised that he was the only one who asked how Shep was doing, and then I was doubly surprised that no-one else did. He's quite sweet, really. Oh, and people, remember the line where he doesn't feel he's good enough for Miranda? And how everyone says he seems to have no insecurities? I say he's insecure and it just manifests as a well-hidden lack of self-confidence, and this has made his almost-addiction to exercise seem more realistic to me. Someday I shall have to create a Shep who romanced Kaidan and then went onto Jacob, just to see what happens.

@DA2 - I liked the game and all the characters, but Aveline is quite awesome. And how can you not like Cullen? He has such wonderful character development (and I actually mean that, that's not some kind of euphemism)

@Geirahod - Just so you know, you are an amazing artist and I cannot wait to see what that picture will look like once it is finished. It's fantastic as it is!

Yes, because that is the way he is, he will only open up if you are with him.

But that completely shuts out MaleShep from even having the convo. You can have close meaningful relationships with people you are not in love with.

Whelp, after reading the last pages and seeing some of the most recent threads, I see that the truce between Liara and VS fans we had for some time didn't last much, and that general threads putting down the VS are back. And here I wanted to think that we were getting along better, and more understanding of each others' position. This is the Internet, after all. *sigh*

And regarding the personal conversation, you should get that regardless of relationship, cant people have a general interest in your well-being without getting some? I hope kaidan shows some interest in how shepard is doing, seeming how the whole universe is depending on him/her
