@ side missions: I finally finished all the ME2 side missions last night - got everything at 100% explored (or however you say it). I wasn't in much of a mood to play today, but tomorrow I'm picking up Legion and maybe even finish the game. Arrival is the only thing I would have left, but I'm saving that for right before ME3 comes out.
@ trailer: Is it customary to release stuff on Tuesdays? I'm really excited to see Kaidan in the new trailer!

From what I know, both the Playstation Network Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace update on Tuesdays. Also, 99% of games are released on Tuesdays (with a few exceptions: Skyrim came out on a Friday and Pokemon Black/White was released on a Sunday). I don't know that trailers necessarily come out on certain days, but it's not a bad idea (due to the console store updates).

And yeah, it was that femshep thread. I don't know why I bother. I keep thinking I can convince people with logical arguments but they don't actually listen. Some guys act like I'm stealing their game content. Like games are a exclusive boys club. They show that 20% stat and ignore the lack of marketing towards females.
I get upset though, cause Bioware is one of the only companies that I feel portrays women in a respectful, well rounded way in their games. The fact that they might be convinced to cut female content because of these "statistics", however unlikely it is, scares me. I have really reduced my game time anymore because I really feel like I'm not wanted in the gaming community cause I'm female. And I've played games since I was 5 years old with an Intellivision.

You know, I find BSN one of the milder forums on the net. I've been to some awful places online.

This is true, I have to hide my gender on most sports messageboards or my opinion will not be taken seriously and they will simply respond by calling me the c-word. My two favorite things are sports and games, though. What can you do?
And Tuesdays are video game days in North America. It's when juicy info usually comes out.

What irritates me is we're one of the most vocal fans, the kaidanites, and people are always writing us off. (also the most creative if I may add

Debating on BSN is like arguing with a kid who keeps saying "why"! Another good metaphor is talking to a brick wall. Is there suppose to be a trailer out tomorrow or something? I'm currently trying to blast my way through an ME2 playthru. I forgot about all the little side missions you can do. Gonna leave those alone for now. Anyhoo I guess I will go back to grinding my way thru ME2.

LOL that is a great way of putting it silver!
I hope its the trailer since that is the day we get to see Kaidan! Since we all rock and convinced Silverman!

Ehhh besides making the femshep or femhawke or femwarden, they don't do that great of job at females. o.o Isabella? Really ugh.
They've got to sell the game, and it's undeniable that males make up most of the gaming demographic. So using females like Isabela, Miranda, Morrigan, etc, is a great way to sell your game. They kept the characters (mostly) respectable in personality, though. I mean, compare Morrigan to, say, Bayonetta. They may both dress skimpily, but Morrigan actually has a deeper personality once you delve into the character compared to many, many other video game females.
In my opinion, female characters are the hardest to get right in any form of media, be it games, movies, TV shows, and books to a lesser extent. You need to make them likable, to both genders, meaning they need to have a good personality but also be attractive to men (should they swing that way). Lean too much one way or the other and you've lost half of your audience. But there's also a fine, fine line within that balance to not have an over the top female character. So she needs to have a strong, willful personality, yet be attractive in both looks and personality to men (which usually includes some sort of submission to the opposite gender), while being able to hold her own but not invulnerably so.
If any of that makes sense

There really isn't much competition so Bioware's female PCs are leaps and bounds over the alternative. Plus there are still strong females in Bioware's games. Ashley, Bastilla, and Aveline for example. There are still the sexualization problem, but these women break through that with well rounded personalities for the most part.
And as a Kaidan fan we are really in the minority. But still, I am a paying customer and my money is worth as much as anyone else. But we were vocal enough that our favorite character was put back into the series for the final game. I don't think that would've happened if Kaidan and Ashley fans hadn't petitioned so hard for it.

Still hoping for femshep/Kaidan trailer tomorrow. I know, I know, I'm delusional.
I'm actually getting Kingdoms of Amalur tomorrow, after all. Anyone else planning to?

Oh is it the is Femshep worth it thread you are talking about? That thread got me really angry yesterday. Reading half those responses made me soo close to posting but I refrained. I was shocked and kinda upset to find it still open this morning, its not ME3 related and it is an already confirmed feature there is nothing to discuss.
I understand you frustration, it is the reason why I mostly only post in character threads because the general discussion is a breeding ground for trolls and people who make snide remarks to other posters to be little them and their argument.
& Don`t worry about the statistics. After all even after they saw the numbers they still decided to promote Femshep in ME3, If they didn`t think Femshep was worth it then they wouldn`t of made her in the first place. Clearly Femshep had some value in order for the ME team to include Femshep. So it would be odd for them to backpedal now.
I know I probably wouldn`t of even played this game if it wasn`t for FemShep. It was Femshep that initially drew me in after watching some youtube clips of her romance with Kaidan

Me: WELLLL do you like engaging story as well as 3rd person shooting gameplay with a fully customizable character and fully voiced cast including some famous people along the lines of Seth Green and Martin Sheen?
Customer: Oh wow, that sounds cool what's that?
Me: WELLL it just so happens to be this game here *shows mass effect*
Yah, pay me bioware. I even got a girl gamer that way because she wanted an engaging story "Yes and it has a fully voiced and customizable female protagonist." "Oh rly?"
But yes I agree with you Lady, it is difficult to balance female characters.
Also also, I feel the most at home in this thread. I visit other threads but they are either A) too fast or

Edit: Is that your blog in your sig? Because the first post is titled "Why I Hate Kaidan", and that's not a very nice blog post if you ask me.
@Bekkael, I'm not planning on getting KoA but I don't know much about it. Is it more akin to the Elder Scrolls or Dragon Age? I might buy it if it has good characters and a good plot, but otherwise I probably won't.

I've gotten two people hooked on the Mass Effect series and I'm currently working on two more. People honestly do not know what goes on in Mass Effect. Like I've said, most people I know think it's a Halo clone.

Though, he plays broShep... (but it was at least hilarious seeing him react to Jennifer Hale's voice and be all "I suddenly want to play MGS4 now.")
...I also got him into the MGS series. (Hey, gotta throw quality games at him so he wouldn't get stuck playing sport games forever. @_@)
As for something being released on Tuesday-- seems to be almost a given as of late, I'll be eating lunch at work and checking my phone and there'll be always something new on a Tuesday. Auuugh. @_@

Fuuny thing tho, for sum odd reason one of the mods..Stanley Woo, perhaps? Idk. Saw fit to stamp it w/ the BW thing. He was the one modding it,. But wasn't he also the one in here yelling lockdown over our mild discussion?
But that piece of sh*t thread gets a..stamp-thingy. And is still open. And it's by that same poster that always seems to have sum ridiculous thread started. Troll, but we get threatened w/lockdown.

Sorry for repetitive nouns and odd sentence structures in my posts today, after last week's three exams, two tests, a ten photo photoshoot, and 200 pages of a lit book to read, my brain is too fried to make very coherent forum posts.
