I've romanced both Thane and Garrus, which was interesting and I did enjoy it ....but I much prefer my staying loyal to Kaidan, because honestly he's the only true love in my Shepards lives . Kaidan being a Major doesn't bother me either, my Shep will be just so happy to see him she won't care what rank he is , oh and "the place that shall not be named" ? ....kind of reminds me of Harry Potter , Horizon did hurt, but when you look at the big picture...it's no Lord Voldermort, hehe xD

Anyway, awesome picture of Kaidan! Good job on posting, we can never have too much Kaidan

 


Lol! Would you believe it if I said that I've never read or watched the Harry Potter series? It's just something that my dad and I say to each other when we're plotting or planning or when there's a place we don't like that we don't like to mention. 

There's no such thing as too much Kaidan! ^^

None of my femSheps have been with anyone other than Kaidan. Renegade Shep was supposed to go over to Jacob, but I totally messed up and I don't know if I can replay her just for a Jacobmance. Maybe. We'll see. I'm just so much more committed to my canon Shep than my Renegade Shep and my broShep.

@ Kaidan being Major. I'm completely fine with it. I'm a control freak but not that much of a control freak.
@ Trailer... trying not to get my hopes up too much.
@ staying loyal. my main Shep is loyal, one moved on with Jacob, the infiltrator I'm playing right now was going to break up with Kaidan in ME3, but I changed my mind, mostly thanks to Sbarge. instead, I'll be curious to see if there are differences in how relationship plays out with Shepard who saved the base. all other Shepards romanced other LI's.

I actually don't have issues not romancing Kaidan /ducks I have some issues leaving him on Virmire, but I like Ashley too much to not keep her in at least some of my saves.

I have one faithful, one who never romanced him so was safe to go with Garrus, then I have this other shep work in progress who now has Kaidan as a LI. Not decided what to do in 2 yet, but I'm not sure I could cheat on him - that little photo on the desk...

I have several femsheps that stayed loyal to Kaidan, one of them being my canon (or actually, i used to have several, I've lost a lot of savegames lately, so now I only have one or two).
But it's still interesting to see the other romance options, and I'll import one femShep for each romance option, with the exception of Liara (who I never romance because I can't turn down Kaidan in ME1).

I'm fine with Kaidan being a Major as long as he understand who's in charge on the Normandy. He can have opinions, but my Shep will call the shots and has the final word.

@Kaidan being Major - I like it, I think it could make for some really interesting situations but I hope it's handled well. I've played games where your character is supposed to be subordinate to somebody but because you're the main character and are supposed to control the plot, your senior effectively just goes "I'm not sure ... what do you think we should do? we'll do that" all the time and it makes them look really weak, so I hope they haven't just gone for that. Don't want to see lots of conflict but I do hope he pulls rank at some point!

All of my Sheps who romanced Kaidan stayed faithful to him. None of the ME2 romances grabbed me enough to cheat and I found them too cheesy and/or sleazy. I did try once but when I saw Kaidan's photo face down on the desk I felt guilty and deleted the whole playthrough, lmao.

I have 3 Shepards to see different outcomes of ME3, one of which was always intended to be loyal to Kaidan (he's the only LI I want anyway). The Jacobmance Shep that I screwed up was supposed to be so that I could see how that impacted the previous Kaidan romance. I haven't finished taking her through ME2 yet, maybe I can still fool around with Garrus?? If only Zaeed were an option!

Yes, it's heartbreaking when you see Kaidan's picture finally come down. 

I was wondering, who put that picture there in the first place. It couldn't have been Shepard since she was dead and has no personal belongings with her. I don't think it was Cerberus either because the Illusive Man doesn't want personal problems to get in the way of the mission. In my head, it was either Dr. Chakwas or Joker who put it there. Most likely Joker because he's a good friend and one of the few who knew about the relationship between Shepard and Kaidan or other LI.

I haven't thought about it, but I can see Chakwas putting it there. She seems like the caring type, and the kind of person who would put ithe photo there knowing that Shepard would appreciate it.

i think what bosiaxd mean is that she has only played as one shep who happened to stay loyal, but i can be wrong. and in that case, well, i think you might be ;> personally i was just too curious of the things i was missing and i did a playthrough for every romance possible, as an experiment - yeah, some of my sheps are just guinea pigs and not a fully role played characters x) those actually role played are waiting for their kaidan obviously, but when one is faithful, the second and third have romanced garrus and thane as i simply wanted to see how different those interactions are going to be. although i admit, i don't envy the last two when it comes to chosing ;_;

oh, and kaidan being a major? i'm actually proud and excited

edit: and hm, kaidan's pic - i've always suspected miranda. she spent years on studying shepard and knows mostly everything about her. cerberus' main goal after the resurrection was making shepard loyal or at least involved and to achieve that, they silently tried to make her as comfortable as possible by giving her some illusion of the past - with the normandy, joker, chakwas, and so on. not to mention, that kaidan was a horizon bait.

I don't like any of the ME2 romances.

Jacob: He's all over the place. One minute moral do-gooder, the next midnight porn star. He also says that "Miranda deserves a better man than me" or something. Sooo, what does that make Shepard? I know this all comes back to his self esteem issues but I'm sorry, it just does not work for me. Then his body is all weird looking. Bleck, moving on.

Thane: He looks like a lizard. I'm sorry, I just cannot get past him looking like a lizard. I'm just not attracted to that. But besides that, he has MAJOR Carth Syndrome. Yes, tell me more about your manic pixie dream girl wife and how much I remind you of her. He even uses the same name, wtf. Then the memories of every experience just randomly popping in out of nowhere. Just, no.

Garrus: So Garrus is the best out of the three cause he's like Batman or something. First thing, though, like Thane, I'm not attracted to a guy who looks like a dinosaur. It's like if my dog began walking around on two legs, grew 6 feet, and began to talk. I'm still not going to want to have sex with him. After that, like his sarcasm and humor so I thought about it. But in the end, you basically have to force him into it. With Kaidan it was a natural, gradual thing. With Garrus it just doesn't seem like love. It's more like 'what the hell, we're best friends, right?'.

I just said no to all of them. I had no real connection with any of them and I just don't think any of them were fit to be in a relationship with Shepard. So every Shep, it's still Kaidan in the end. I might try one save where I romance Garrus, just to see what happens in ME3, but maybe I'll just look it up on youtube. I mean, imagine going up to them after that whole thing in ME2 and being like, "ha, sorry, I actually want to be with Kaidan. You were just the rebound." Yeah, I don't want to do that to any of them.

Seconded. I have a renegade FemShep (who's just getting to Virmire, and renegaded Kaidan) who will have a huge crush on Zaeed.  She'll settle for Jacob, though, cuz she's kindof a tramp, but she doesn't really care about
him.  No, I don't spend time mapping out playthoughs in my head to pass the time until March.

You know, I can see Joker doing it.  He was the only one (besides Liara if you pick renegade option during aboard Normandy convo in LotSB) who mentioned the relationship.  I expected Tali and Garrus to have something to say about it, but no.  Of course, I think Garrus was just waiting for an opening to use that reach/flexibility line.  He's kindof a dork that way.
