The Ashley Williams thread is supposed to be about Ashley Williams. This isn't rocket science, it's simple logic. It's NOT a chatroom, and threads have been closed for spamming before.
I'd hate to see that happen to this thread. Go to the off-topic section if that's all you care about being.
Also if someone asks you to stop it'd be polite to do so, or at the very least to respect that.
This thread is for discussions about Ashley Williams in ME3. Please no trolling, or starting flame wars. Let's keep it civil so that any and all people can discuss the Lieutenant and make her proud, because as we all know Ash is Worth It.![]()

syllogi: Yay! OK, so as I've acknowledged, I haven't played the game (Yet! I intend to though, ya'll have me intrigued). So, there was Kaidan's Horizon letter, right? Ashley had one too, right?
Would it have maybe sounded like the second audio in this audioblog entry if it had been read?

Big ups to Teen Zombie for her work in finding this.:
So to all the haters out there just try and deny the word of the Ashley Williams Lore/Cannon writer. You will lose.

I've been meaning to drop this quote off in this thread for a while, so here is a quote that (hopefully) will put the "Ashley hates aliens" myth to rest. This is Chris L'Etoile, former Bioware writer, who wrote Ashley, and posts around the web as Stormwaltz, on the Penny Arcade forum Mass Effect thread:
I find it interesting that so many people have stereotyped her as "the racist." At a couple of points she blasts the Terra Firma party as being "bigots," and she openly admires the power of the Destiny Ascension in the Citadel approach cutscene - not quite what you'd expect from a xenophobe.
In her first conversation she spells out her thinking pretty explicitly (the bear and dog metaphor), and it's nothing more than a short paraphrase of the most memorable passage in Charles Pelligrino and George Zebrowski's novel "The Killing Star":
When we put our heads together and tried to list everything we could say with certainty about other civilizations, without having actually met them, all that we knew boiled down to three simple laws of alien behavior:
1. THEIR SURVIVAL WILL BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR SURVIVAL.
If an alien species has to choose between them and us, they won't choose us. It is difficult to imagine a contrary case; species don't survive by being self-sacrificing.
2. WIMPS DON'T BECOME TOP DOGS.
No species makes it to the top by being passive. The species in charge of any given planet will be highly intelligent, alert, aggressive, and ruthless when necessary.
3. THEY WILL ASSUME THAT THE FIRST TWO LAWS APPLY TO US.
And it's hard to dispute this. At the least, you could say the krogan live by these rules. It's certainly a more suspicious and pessimistic point of view than most of us are comfortable with. But is it racism, or realism?
Anyway. I fully expected some people write her off as a bigot. What surprises me is that no one's pointed out that her position does have some sense. Evidently, I did something very wrong here.
To answer a question from... I don't know, tens of pages ago, if you romance her and have persuade, you can convince her to be a bit less extreme in her opinions.
Link to post
And there you have the man who wrote the character, telling us what she meant by the bear and dog comment, and her view on aliens. Realism, not racism.
So there!!!
This thread is open to all discussion of Ashley and is supportive of F/F and M/F Ash fans and Shepard's that romance her whether it be done with Mods in Mass effect 1& 2 or in Mass Effect 3 so be respectful to your fellow posters as we are all fans of Ashley.![]()

also if you upset Ashley in anyway (restricting her, trolling her in favor of Kaidan, etc) the VS's stick together off screen:

I know I've said this before..but Ashley may be just a prophet with a gun. The Jeremiah of her time, willing to say the unpopular truth that everyone kinda ignores.
- The bear example. If push comes to shove the Council will dump humanity in order to save itself....and presto what happens in ME3? "That sad truth is that while Earth suffers, we can use the time to gather resources".
- "I don't trust Cerberus and it frightens me that you do"...And what does TIM do? Create an army of husks
- "Is it wise to let aliens poke around?"....and guess which races just happens to have Tantulus steath technology later (granted we did copy their cyclonic shield tech in ME2).
And despite all of that she know the alternatives are much worse. Despite realizing the self-interested nature of the council (especially the Asari), she still protects them. She doesn't betray them.
Ashley, the somewhat renegade yin to my paragon Shepard yang.
Also just gave her colossus armor in my ME1 playthrough....damn!
