She is with Salarians. She is not tech specialist, yet her knowledge is enough for communication and fire support.

In my game, she's always with the bomb. Alenko, being an officer, is better suited to coordinate fire teams. Ashley defends the bomb since she is a better fighter/defender/w/e. Shepard must ensure the bomb goes off, therefor, leaving the Salarians and Alenko to die.

25 years for gunnery chief is normal rate, given she conscri... sorry, I forgot, westerners use enlistment (until sheet hits the fan). Okay, she enlisted at 18, for 7 years she had 5th rank. I'd say that's pretty good. Faquing impressive. 27 for Operational chief (6th rank for 9 years) makes looks more realistic. However, her subsequential jump to LtCdr makes even less sense than ending. Kahlee Sanders is served at least 20 years and she is still first lieutenant. She was help back on purpose?
One more jab into Bioware's jaw that they don't know thing about military. And don't want to, which is worst part of it. Why is that - is beyond my comprehension, even more than Reapers motives or looking for meaning in ending. Doing everything right is as easy as doing everything wrong, only right.

Maybe so, but her family is black listed and Shepard sees in her files that she has outstanding scores in every department and comments on how she should have a better position than she does. AKA she's being held back on purpose b/c of her family name. She could have been an officer as well for all we know.

Rudy Lis wrote...
Age = experience.

That's not always a good thing. Bad experiences can lead to bad decisions.

Rudy Lis wrote...
We read only Miranda's file so far.

There has been nothing to indicate her fertility sure, but females are how you rebuild a society. Kaidan can't give birth. lol

Rudy Lis wrote...
Turians, apparently best fighters (pound for pound) in Galaxy (well, second best after Reapers) were decimated by platoons (says Garrus, in Refugees part of docks). What one human grunt can do? Yes, you right - die or die trying.

True, but neither of them are Turians... irrelevant.

Rudy Lis wrote...
Kaidan have his family too.
Last of his line>A lone child>one of several children.
I do not take "have nothing to lose" into consideration, since it's double-edged sword and like tracers - works both ways.

I'll give you this one.

Obviously, you didn't read mine. Mine was just a jumbled up paragraph that I used in the forums. Just copy/paste brah!

lmao

EDIT: Also, where did you read these at? I'd like to as well. :)

You contributed - that's all that matters. :)

Eloquence means nothing to Bioware. Hard numbers do, however.

I like your views Rudy, where did you serve?

Because Ash loves Geth, right? :P

I don't think she approves of Shepards relationship with the Geth! :bandit:

Yes, but you can't sit there and tell
me that it doesn't make a liaramance playthrough feel more well done.
Especially if it's your first playthrough. Or that it wouldn't make you
feel like Ashley had more content than she does.

I think we can all agree Liara has more content than any of the other characters. And all those interaction can add up to a more fulfilling romance, especially in the form of a first playthrough. The only thing I'll note is that even when romance, Liara throws 'friend' around quite a lot, which, can be seen as a good thing (friendship advancing to romance) or a bad thing (not acknowledging romance)

I was simply looking at it from a non first playthrough perspective, looking at romance specific interaction. From this point of view, they really aren't that different.

Just my perspective. Not trying to deny yours.

That did kind of bug me when I was playing my Liara + Shep. playthrough. Especially the time capsule.

When you give her the option to let her describe Shepard from his upbringing, etc. and how she ends it with "And it was an honor to know him" or something similar. Call me cheesy, but I think it would've been great if she said "And it was an honor to know him and love him" or something similar.

I would pay for an alternate appearance pack that simply put her hair back in a bun lol (not that I don't like the new hairstyle, just the old one is iconic).  Phoenix armor would be a bonus :P.

More importantly, I want alternate casual outfit for her.  Not a big fan of the new one.

In my game she is with salarians. Her qualification (exemplary scores) should be enough for coordination and radio contact and as infantry she is more suited for direct fire (since there is no indirect fire apparently, since it will kill "adrenalin©™® cover©™®-based©™® combat©™®") situations.
Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

Better position is not equal to better rank. AFAIR Shepard only surprised why she served in backwater locations, mostly groundside, not with fleet.
Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

There are no proof she was held back in terms of rank. In term of place of service - they are, indeed.
Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

Not all suited for officer's role and post. Major Kyle anyone?
Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

Since we weren't given personal files for crew (as we should) I can only base my impression on personal dialogues from Alenko himself and Chakwas. I didn't find bad experience there. And, after playing ME3 I have impression that Alenko pissed withShepard (Wrex) - Cerberus cooperation much less. Just saying. Image IPB
Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

There is no statement that Kaidan has no idea how to rebuild society.
Sgt Reed 24 wrote...

Isn't Ash herself states that she is useless in upcoming battle? I don't remember that (maybe because it's post-Virmire?)

You cheesy. Sorry, couldn't resist, replaying ME1 from beginning again. Image IPB

Maybe some import flag ran away and her phrase is bugged. But I bet it was done for "moneysaving" - one phrase is cheaper than two.
Grimez7 wrote...

I've spoke about that as soon as I saw her new look.
C-sec wear dark blue uniform. Shepard and rest wear light blue-camo. Compare Shepard and "turret guy" (One who needs schematics of those turrets, back on Cidatel). Bailey wears "military" uniform, not C-sec. I admit, during time of war all LE personnel could be moved under military command (but that's illogical somewhat), but AFAIR there were no words on that in Codex.

@Rudy Lis; You're probably right, although I'm sure you can make a case for saving Ashley because of where she is, but she's the less likely choice to leave Virmire from a military viewpoint. But, Mass Effect is not a military simulator of course, just as much as it doesn't simulate anything else..It doesn't need to get everything exactly as it is today because it's entertainment. They don't read up on every little detail about the military and military life because frankly they have better things to spend their time on: creating the universe and characters.

ANd yeah...It does take a while to load that artbook, lol.

Oh lord. Keeping a prime? Okay, they are really awesome but...she's going to need somewhere to put it.
