The real villian in ME3 is the ending not the reapers

no its starchild, merizan just said that its possible that he was lieing to us T_T

She also said that the Quarins don't die in the destroy synthetics ending because their implants aren't Reaper tech.  I never heard anything in the ending about only Reaper tech being destroyed.

she also says that the geth don't die and that the starchild was wrong about a lot of things

Either she doesn't know what she's talking about, or she's giving us hints that something big is coming.

Lets say, Ashley's romance works only with a hefty amount of headcanon. Without that, Ash doesn't feel like Ash anymore. That's disappointing, especially since ME!Ash was one of the best fictional characters created for a game in history ... :(

I understand, and I'm not exactly...defending the direction Bioware chose to take. For sentimental purposes, I'm hesitant to say that the Ash we love is not there anymore or that she's become something hollow, rather she's still very much there, just not given proper...time in the spotlight. ME3 had a very bare bones approach to character interaction and a lot of characters, including Ashley, suffered from it.

That being said, playing ME1 greatly supplements the experience with her in ME3...but lots of people failed to appreciate her then, so why would they now?

I guess, to put it more simply, when I go to the observation deck and Ashley doesn't say much, I don't think, "Damn it, Ashley, why don't you talk to me?" I think, "Damn it, Bioware, why won't you let Ashley talk to me?".

To me it still feels like Ashley, but just super busy can't-talk-now-gotta-work Ashley. Shes till snarky, still badass, still sweet, but she seems busy and not all there. The romanc escene was pure Ashley goodness, but there wasn't enough of it, especially if you were just friends with her and you don't get that.

It's not just what I'm hoping for, it's what I believe to be the truth.  We know ending DLC is coming, and the press release was so vague that nothing was really ruled out by it.

Normally, I'm a nice guy and all, but for you to blatantly come into her fan thread and call her racist... You have 2 options:

or

Yeah Ashley isn't racist at all, if anything she is the only one with a real outlook on aliens from the humans perspective.

You don't even know what you are talking about.  I go back to the bomb almost everytime, and always save the STG team.  As long as you do the things to help them during the mission they survive.

I picked liara everytime, but I still have love for ashley. In ME1 she had my back if wrex got out of hand. I loved seeing her from the start, just like old times. Plus she has an adorable way of saying * hero man*^_^

Really hope BioWare add a LI wedding/specific DLC so we get more Ash Time. Just finished my 15th play through of ME3 only have 20 more to go then I will start a shep is dead insanity run from ME1 thru ME3.

@Eragondragonrider Bioware said at PAX that DLC content is community driven. So if we keep telling them that we want more Ashley/ LI stuff they would theoretically comply.

Here we go again, someone who doesn´t like Ash because she is a "racist" (one of the reasons).
Alright, if you dislike her, why bother coming here and tell other Ashley fans that you dislike her?

Yes, it's indeed a case of
"Damn it, Bioware, why won't you let Ashley talk to me?"  more than anything else. In fact I find ME3 Ash eerily similar to ME1 Ash, just with less content. That´s my complaint, we barely learn new things about Ash.
So I disagree with the thought that she doesn´t feel like Ash anymore...Her maturing could´ve been a big deal, what she did during ME2 could´ve been a big deal and maybe an entirely new aspect could´ve arisen..but we either didn´t get that, or it wasn´t worked out very well. That´s why we´re barely/not discussing Ash in ME3. We´ve got no new material.

Because some people just love the sound of their own voice. Most of us do it, from time to time, anyway ;)

But I doubt she can be seen as racist. Her views are not against aliens, but against aliens being shown probably the tightest military secret the Alliance has from up close and personal. Since they've turn on the humans before, it's reasonable to question whether to show them our strengths and weaknesses is clever approach.
Her dialogue with the Terra Firma guy pretty much soldifies that theory. Plus, if she were a zealot, she'd hardly let the issue go with just Shepard telling her "It's ok, my responsibility, I've got it."

I'd say she might be a bit xenophobic, her views are somewhat against aliens in ME1, it's not racism though, she's cautious of Aliens, she doesn't hate them or dislike them for who they are. She distrusts them, based mostly on rational thought. Racism/xenophobia is usually based on irrational fear. The only reason I call her slightly xenophobic is because she immediately tends to distrust aliens, more so than humans, she doesn't really give them a chance to be trusted by her. Terra Firma is racist, she's more tolerant than them.

She's over her distrust though in ME3, now that she's seen what the galaxy has to offer and how similar to humans they actually are. I figure her distrust of aliens had a lot to do with her upbringing.
