gameplay menachnics are more refined and less clunky

Gameplay mechanics totally screwed by projectiles velocity, thermal clips and strict requirements to biotic/tech powers (shields/armor/barrier).

ME1 gameplay isn't clunky, it's quite realistic and yet, still dynamic and fun. But I'm OFP/ArmA nerd, I'm used to that kind of pace, minus cover (we go prone, not stick to coverImage IPB).

Hellfire257 wrote...

It's more fluid and the cover system isn't as clunky, IMO.

It's not fluid, it's pseudo-faster, because now we wedged into narrow corridors (I don't get it, someone suffering from agoraphobia and topographic cretinism?).

Cover system has her issues. Probably because of "do everything" button.

i really did like the conversations with the crew in both games honestly.

Likewise. Not to mention knowing your crew is one of your tasks as CO.
Character interactions, with proper execution could be one of desserts on the game. Alas, not in this life. Image IPB

Sorry i have no love for Kaidan

Me neither, but I saved him not for voice, or personality, or unforeseen romance in ME3 (*snorts*Image IPB). I like Ash more, and I'm ****ing sad there is no way to note that in ME2/3 if she is dead. Why they don't add her into dream sequences, where she appears near Shepard and comfort him in this situation, helping him to maintain his sanity and will?
If they wanted to create nightmares, they dropped the ball there too.

Totally Not Swaggacide wrote...

Mako or Hammerhead?

Mako. It's more realistic, more challenging (in good way, you have to use your head sometimes not only for wearing hats and eating into), more interesting. Hammerhead missions were like Doom/Quake/Wolfestein deathmatch, all running, dodging, (rocket)jumping. Yeah, yeah, I know it's not Jane's Longbow...

That took slightly longer than expected....

There's 27 images there but I think I like the last bomb-load more. Click for full size as usual.

This playthrough is almost at journey's end. I can feel the dread mounting as I get closer to the endings...

And by my humble opinion, is one of biggest flaws in history. Probably they just never thought that someone may remain faithful to killed companion. Sort of (Shepard himself was killed few weeks later and than has his hands full dealing with Collectors).
IMHO having such "pillar of hope" could negate dreams/"horrors" (even going down to mechanichs - Shepard's nerves are gone> he suffers from minor combat penalties, less health, shields, accuracy, etc; Shepard morale is Ok> he fights better) and having LI waiting you in better world could make death at the end a little less... "strange"? Especially with this ending.

Pseudo pace is fine because it still gives the required impression. I'm a regular ARMA player too but I find 2's combat experience to be superior. Aggressive tactics have always been my primary method so that could explain it. I like to maintain momentum as much as possible.

I just wish the damn thing had shields. Oh well. Piece of crap is laying under debris right now anyway according to Cortez.

I have no problems with momentum, though generally I was responsible for defense (read "goalie"Image IPB<due lack of better masksImage IPB). IMHO they just adjust (hm!) your shield/health stripping and regen rates, making all processes faster, much faster. Make health as supplementary shield (why not go further and remove health totally, leaving shields/armor?). Thus made pace faster - we don't have to wait about 30 seconds till our shields recharges. Same were done with abilities (plus global cooldown). Make levels more compact and removed any form of forks (well, we still can pass that pyle from left, right or on topImage IPB), increased RoF for many guns and made them sort of distinctly different. In ME3 they somewhat broaden all that to ME1 scale, but increased dynamic and rehashed arsenal. Too bad, they spoiled too much.

Mako most definitely. Give those rockets some more juice and it will have the best of both worlds.

Im pretty sure Bioware is going to make us rescue that piece of metal in some DLC.... just some personal speculation. Left an enourmous clue.
