I see your point ADL. More Ash fans sounds great but do we have to suffer for it?

My train of thought may be way off on this one but it could also be right on track.

Those of us who have stayed with Ashley through good times as well as bad times should get a better relationship with her than a newbie would get in ME3. I admit that it does sound elitist in a way but aren't we entitled to it? We should be getting more than a newbie and a better relationship with Ash in ME3 instead of just a few throwaway lines of dialogue that are different from the romance a newbie would have with her.

Maybe BW is writing several romances for Ashley for that very reason. If so it would be awesome because we would be getting an awesome continuation of our relationship with Ash instead of a rehash of ME1 dialogue.

I hope that BW caters to us long term Ash fans on this one especially after our Ashley romance got sidelined in ME2.

Why does New fans seem to equal suffering for old fans? No one said anything about suffering! Adding new fans to the fanbase does not mean the old ones have to suffer. Hell even some of these "new fans" have been with ash since the beginning but since they play mostly femshep or only femshep, they can't romance her without mods and even then they might get a shot finally if she's Same Sex. I get the whole "bioware screwed us with Horizon" and "Liara got a DLC, why not the VS?" . So what? The VS is now equally as badass as the protagonist so who cares if they weren't in Mass Effect 2 after horizon. Bioware obviously needed them for the third game and you aren't guarenteed to have them if they can die in the Suicide mission. They've been promoted (again) and they're now a Spectre. you're right it does sound elistist and you can't be elitist withotu looking down at someone, and saying "you just got here so I deserve more than what you get" is no way to keep a fan base healthy and add to it. It's also why I think a NEW romance is better than pressing a button to say you romanced Ashley in ME1 when you ahven't played it because that throws everyone in the same group and would probably confuse the new players instead of Ashley being introduced to them properly instead of having things go over their heads. I'm still not on this "oh I've bene playing since ME1 so if you let new people in you're screwing me over" sentiment some of the fan base have because adding new fans simply does not equal screwing over old fans.

As long as we (old fans) get a different kind of romance with Ashley than the new fans.

I can understand your viewpoint. Part of me agrees with you whole heartedly but a selfish spark in me takes over when it comes to my favorite romance.

I don't want to rehash ME1 type romance with Ashley in ME3 so that newbies get to have a romance with her. Build, Build, Build, Build, romance scene before last mission. That was ME1! We "old fans" should be getting a different romance than the newbies because we already got to know her and already fell in love with Ashley. Therefore we should get a romance continuation and not a repeat.

Furthermore newbies shouldn't get the same conclusion to the romance that we should get (i.e. marriage etc.).

That is all that I am trying to bring across. Considering the fact that english isn't my native language I can understand that I may sound a little rude or pushy from time to time.

Prosperity would also like an epic romance conclusion for her faithfulness. She would also like newcomers to experience the awesomeness that is an Ashmance.

The "newbies" would get the build build build romance scene. but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get a great ending! this quote pretty much somes up how that does sound, english or not.

We know so little about ME3 at the moment. Considerin the fact that ME3 was pushed back until next year because they want to make it the best game ever (it desperately needs to be after what happened in ME2 imho) could mean that they are giving all romance options a deeper and more customized level including different variations for newbies and us.

That is wishfull thinking on my part at the moment though. Maybe we all get our special romance that we want (continuation of Ash romance for us; new romance for newbies). Who knows?

I am just expressing myself here because Bioware does look on the forums from time to time and they should know what we want and what we are worried about or not.

My worries are now known.

I will not be happy with just a few throw away lines of extra dialogue for those of us who romanced her from the beginning.

It has to be a continuation of the romance we have started in ME1 imho!

I get your views tomas, please don't misunderstand. IT's jstu that i can't agree with anyone who wants to make Ash unromanceable for new players since the people who were new when Me2 cameout (myself included) already missed out on her.

it's four years old, not out for their system (ps3 even though they have a crappy comic genesis on Me2), can't find it, don't want to find it, just getting into gaming, just eharing about the franchise, just getting a system or gaming PC. etc etc. Bioware's making it easy to jump in with Me3 and they don't want people to have to jump through hops to go back and find what's already happened.

I bought ME2 first. Played it a bit and realized that I missed out on a lot.

Bought ME1 from Amazon and romanced Ash. No big deal. Everyone can buy the game. The internet is your friend.

Why do you believe that it is too hard or inconvinient for new players to grab ME1 from the Internet?

Steam, Amazon (co.uk.; .com; .de; etc.), Gamestop and so many more retailers including eBay.

It is beyond easy to buy ME1. It is everywhere.

Are you the thread moderator now?

I thought we already discussed, what to do when you have no idea who she is.

Anyway, enough of the entitlement debate, it's offcially old.

what's a piece of dialogue you want to see between Ashley and Shepard? If you want you can write it out as well.

And here I thought love is its own reward, but maybe that's just me...
Ash love for all!

 Ashley = Lethality.

I like the sound of that, fits the hellcat metaphor nicely. swift and lethal.

Anyway, I had a nice long relaxing weekend and it inspired me:

Something like this perhaps:

Kelly: Commander, Lieutenant Williams would like to see you in the armory.
*walking to the armory*
Ash: Hey Skipper. I like the new armory. Jacob showed me around.
Shepard: Yeoman Chambers told me you wanted to see me.
Ash: Yes. I had hoped to talk to you.
Shepard: Really? I thought all was said on Horizon that needed to be said.
Ash: You do remember that I can shoot you between the eyes at a hundred meters, right? *snarky Ash*
Shepard: I am not in the mood for your jokes right now.
Ash: Sorry. I'll be serious now. I thought you got my e-mail. Obviously you didn't or you would have answered.
Shepard: I got it but what where you expecting. You called me a traitor and didn't trust my judgement back then.
Ash: You were working for Cerberus who as it turns out are working for the Reapers. I was right.
Shepard: I was working with them. Not for them. The Alliance wasn't doing anything to protect those colonies and I had no choice left but to strike a deal with them. They're indoctrinated now.
Ash: Then what was I doing at Horizon in the first place? I was helping the colonist to install a new defense grid. The Alliance did what they could under the circumstances. We didn't have a lot of intel other than you working for the enemy.

This little fight could continue for a bit but I don't want Horizon to be glossed over too fast. It did happen and it needs to be adressed.

"Sad Ash" By jcros

Now that is truly great and deserves a repost. I had something like that in mind, when I was talking about seeing Ash in nothing but Shep's N7 hoodie, but with a mischievous smile insted of tears.

I had a lot of fun catching up with the thread, really great disscusions and a lot of nice pics!

lol, I actually have a Shepard, who loves to do this!

edit: @ADL: Thank you! But I only made two "sexy" pictures of Ash so far (and the other one is rather cheesy, imo) and there are a lot of great "sexy" Ash pics out there, some of badpie's come to mind.

I agree.

Her blue Alliance uniform in ME1 looked really good on her. I want that option back for her in ME3 as well as a bun toggle.

I also liked the Colossus armor. She looks good in black and red too.
