 Just want to echo my sentiments I posted about the most satisfying moments in ME3, one being the Ashley finally telling Shepard she loves him. 

- Ashley finally telling Shepard she loves him. Cheeky girl was going to do it after they hooked up before Ilos, but the girl ofcourse goes "Whatever happens down there, I just want to say... you know what, I'm not telling you, you wanna hear this, you're just going to have to come back to me." 

And then... the normandy gets destroyed, Shepard goes off chasing the collectors, and when they finally do meet up again, she's hostile towards Shepard and they pretty much break up. Shep remained faithful, gazing at a photo of her, the last chance he'd see her before the suicide mission. 

And with her trust issues carrying on in the third game, it honestly pushed my shepard to the brink. I honestly thought I did something wrong or skipped important dialogue, because for the most part it seemed they weren't going to get back together, but then they finally did. Then the romance scene kicks in after Shepard pretty much got owned at Thessia, and then BOOM! The pay-off I was waiting for.


 
I honestly think the Ashley romance is the best in the game, just because it actually feels like a relationship. Life isn't smooth-sailing, people aren't smooth-sailing in general. They have their rocky moments and let their emotions get the better of their judgement. This was the case for Ash, and honestly she just felt real, unlike Liara who felt forced.

I understand that some people feel Ashley was short-changed, and I would agree to an extent. But in retrospect, I'm happy Ashley never got any DLC like Liara in ME2. Because if they did, Shepard would've just hooked up with her in ME2 and everything would be sunshine and rainbows, like with Liara. 
That isn't realistic, and that is why I never romanced Liara, because she didn't feel realistic. She had no real flaws and was obsessed by Shepard, she'd do anything for him. I'm sure thats a trait every man desires in a woman - but it isn't a realistic one. 
Ashley questioned Shepard, she was insecure, she had some narrow-minded views about aliens, but this made her feel REAL. And that is why I always romance her, because despite everything she comes across as genuine. Sure, there are moments where you want to push her out of the Normandy airlock, but anyone who's had a long-term girlfriend knows that this is usually the case at one point or another

Ashley and Liara are realistic? Eh... I guess in some different reality... And Liara without flaws? I guess I appraise, evaluate, estimate, gauge, value and appreciate  people in general and women specifically differently then.

You see, I notice a pattern in Bioware games: Viconia is blue coloured, Liara is blue coloured. What cause that strange affection to blue colour? Harmless, yet still spooky eggplant appetency or, worse - freezing naked women?

Blue is paragon?

I guess in that case "renegade" (Ashley) is the better choice for us. Even if mostly paragon :happy:
