Shepard: I missed you, Ash. Really could have used your steady aim and firepower in those jobs. That moon of Palaven was a nightmare and we ran right into Cerberus while saving Eve.
Ashley: Thanks Skip. How do you make me feel guilty? *light frown* You sound as if it was my fault.
Shepard: Sorry *smirks*
Ashley: It's okay. I feel bad, not because of your words. I ... just wanted to be with you. Waiting on the Citadel for news about you was a nightmare. Read through lists of KIA and MIA soldiers, praying your name wouldn't appear on any of them.

Ashley: Yeah. Another reason why I hated to be taken out of action. I couldn't do anything, just waiting. *sigh* Skipper, just in case I ... get injured like that again, I want you to keep me on board. Chakwas is a good doctor, she can patch me together. Just don't leave me behind again, hmm?
Shepard: I'll keep that in mind, Ash. Just - stay alive.
Ashley: Don't intend to die, Skipper. Who else keeps you fighting if not me?
Shepard: Hackett and Anderson have their ways ...
Ashley: Do they? And what about ... this way ... *gently kisses him*
Shepard: *snickers* Nope ... that's not how they do it.
Ashley: They better don't ... I can be very, very jealous *laughs and dives in for a passionate kiss*

(Shepard can handle her. After all, he defeated a Reaper on foot. Wait. Two. One was a larvae. Three, if you count the "boss" in the finale. Ash can't be worse, even with her ... needs.)

I don't think it is so much that, but that she's strong willed and she will get what she wants, and that the fact that she cares about Shepard and knows that he needs to wind down before the final assault. I don't think she would've just walked out after he rejected her anyway like she did in the game.

don't let TNS get to ya, he just mad cus he doesn't remember going into an alternate reality were ash made him pancakes. Unfortunately a side effect from leaving the reality was loss of memory
