Great dialogue CptData.
Could of used more pancakes though

My first published dialogue. So please don't kill me...

about a day after the events of CptData's dialogue

Ashley: Hey Skipper! you got a minute?
Shepard: For you? Always!
Ashley: I have been doing some research on the SSV Williams. And you know what? It comes with an AWESOME upgrade.
Shepard: Improved weapons and shielding?
Ashley: Well yeah... that too... but something even better!
Shepard: An eezo core that neglects that lack of mass relays?
Ashley: NOOO!!! Damn it Shepard, you're really bad at guessing. Its kitchen has a fully automated pancake machine. Isn't that awesome?
Shepard: *facepalms" really Ash, sometime i don't even....

Edit: typos and spelling and stuff

Hahahaha

@Rudy Lis
If I called myself 'Lord of Pancakes' I doubt I would be taken seriously

@Drake Averrod
That was good but didn't include pancakes so it wasn't as interesting

Turns out the standard issue Alliance pillows aren't too bad! Ash liked the N7 sheets the most though I think.

That's the Normandy HR texture mod if anyone is interested. Shepard and Ash were just...trying it out.

Love it! :D

Hey, guys. I'm posting for a writer of some alternate endings for ME3, and he's trying to work on some character resolution for good old Ashley, but neither I nor him ever had a lot of experience with the character of Ashley.

Could someone here post what you like about Ashley Williams, what moments were pivotal for you, and how you expected the Shepard-Ashley character relationship to end in ME3 (but persumably didn't since there was no post-ending character resoltion.)

Basically why Ashley is so important to you ::)

Thanks!

P.S. You can find his current endings in this thread, (new "Ashley" material not yet included of course)
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/10966771

EDIT: Edited to actually include the link to the endings ::P

You can't explain the awesomeness of Ashley Williams! You have to experience it! :P

more serious though: I am sure others will post about it. Also look around in this thread. It gives alot of insight why people like Ashley ( I should know, I'm stalking you guys since page 400 ;) ).

I'd like to look around in this thread, but the sheer scope of it makes it almost impossible to sort through. I'd probably spend hours just clicking on the next page button :;P

Well then, I'll give you my reasoning for always romancing Ash:

to me she just seems very (vor the lack of a better word) natural. She seems like a "real" person with history, character, problems, ideas and stuff. I find it hard to explain really (hence the "experience it part" ;) ) Or to put it differently: i am Commander Shepard, hero of Elysium, saviour of the Citadel, bane of the Collectors, saviour of the galaxy and yet there is this cute girl I met right at the beginning of something which shouldn't only shape my destiny but the destiny of the hole galaxy. And guess what! We don't talk about how awesome I am, we don't talk about the threat we face, we talk about family, history, poetry, our drill instructor and other stuff. It remains "real". It remains on a "I like you" ; "you like me" level. But then again thats just me.

Also: she can kill you with her brain!

just kiddin but Ash IS badass!

Hello everyone finally finish my 35th play through of ME3 so all imported play troughs are done. Also start work on Wedding DLC for LIs and Shep, should have a rough draft done by end of the months. Work is picking up for me lots of games to debug and alpha test for E3 and holiday releases, yay so much fun.

Some people have already said it but a good reason as to why I like Ashley over all the other LIs is because it feels like a real relationship. Not every second of their relationship is perfect(Horizon and the start of ME3) but in the end Shepard and Ashley love each other and because they love each other so much they overcome those issues. I also enjoyed all of the conversations I was able to have with her.

You really need to just experience it for yourself to fully understand why lol.

So you think it's like...
The other relationships are these big romantic things with aliens that have extraordinary science fiction skills and big issues, but Ashley is more plain? Like more a connection to reality than fantasy?

Yes this feels more like how an actual couple would be, there is the fighting and making up and everything else that goes with a great relationship. When you first meet Ash she is bummed and has survivers guilt about her squad on Eden. Then you find out about her family history and the black cloud she has over her. With ME1 conclusion she has redemed her family name. Then we move into ME2 with short scene on Horizon and how the one person she trust and love is betraying her, back from the dead, with the enemy that the fought in ME1. ME3 Mars and the hospital cover how she felt about Shep and Cerberus, and how much she trust him with the counsel situation. After that everything just disappearswith Ash until the end of ME3....,so you have to head canon alot of stuff.

I like Ashley because she always seemed like a strong, amazing woman. She's not afraid to share her opinion with Shepard, even if she disagrees with him. She has her own values that are important to her. That's why, when she didn't come with Shepard in ME2, I actually gained respect for her. She's loyal to the Alliance, to her duty, her ideals - she doesn't just knuckle under because Shepard is asking her to walk away from those things.

Ashley isn't someone who tends to need "saved." She wants Shepard in her life - she was devistated when she lost him, she said so in her e-mail in ME2, and she said she couldn't stand the thought of losing him again - but, ultimately, I don't feel like she *needs* to have him in her life. Ash can take care of herself. She's capable. Which is why she's a perfect match for Shepard - she's just as capable as he is.

nah not exactly. Imho most of the other romances are fine. The difference for me though is, if I really was Shepard in ME1 I would totally hit on Ashley (despite these nonsensical nonfraternisation rules,  which not every military has).

I am mean sure Tali and Liara both have an obvious crush on shepard (Miranda maybe a little bit but probably only because she was originally jealous of Shepard's "perfctness"). My Point beeing though, to me every romance in ME2 didn't realy feel as natural or lets mutual as the Ashley romance in ME1. In M2 (to me) it feels more like: " yeah  I wanna screw that". Sure the LI in question responds positevely, but the develoment feels more forced (imho even with tali).

Edit: In addition: liking a specific LI might show more about a persons RL preference than the actual quality of the romance.

She's tough, strong-willed but isn't necessarily afraid to show her sensitive side. She's a family person who would do anything for them and she gets what she wants. With Shepard (At least at the end) she finally gives him her trust and love (after 2 and a half freaking games). I really liked the date scene for them although I would've been awesome if they covered more ground as far as romance. Same goes for the memorial scene. I liked it but it would've been better if Sarah got to meet Shepard. For Spacers, I would've loved to see some Mom/Ash dialog. Anywho, just my 2 cents. <3^_^

Heh. This.

I, uh... I've noticed similarities between Ash and women that I'm attracted to in real life.

Ashley is a much more grounded figure, I can relate to her more. I don't think "plain" is the right word.

Not sure how it's less romantic

Romantic in the "swashbuckling pirate" kind of romantic. You know, really fantastical and dramatic. Not romantic in the sense of, "this fireside dinner is really romantic."

I'd say (again only my opinion) it's neither and yet the latter. Shepard and Ash (to me) are  like a regular guy meets a regular gal. Well of course galctic events force them into becomming heroes, but none of them wanted it and none of them likes it. My perception may be flawed though. I work with the premise that I am Shepard (just like I consider every other ME gamer as shepard in their alternate universe). I am a regular guy, thus my Shep is  a regular guy (well despite this slight detour when he was saving elysium.....but I might have doe that too ;) ). As a regular guy I like regular (yet Awesome) Asheley Williams.

p.s.: if anyone hasen't noticed yet my motherlanguage is not english...also I'am drunk..

She's your down to earth buddy.
Who just also happens to be your girlfriend.

Closer?

That's more like it. I view it as Shepard and Ashley are going through this epic fantastical journey, meeting all these larger than life figures, fighting against impossible odds and they are the only things keeping each other sane.

It's that groundedness that makes the relationship feel real, and why in my opinion Ash is the best romance option.
