Do you guys think that Ash and Shepard would ever leave the alliance? In my mind they would either do it right after me3 or never

Just listend to We are Young by Fun. I think it fits in well enough with Ash and Shepard, especially when you find Ashley lying drunk on the floor and all the times Ash or Shepard has cared or carried one another from the battlefield, maybe it's just me

If they dont do it right away, they would probaly do it within the next maybe 5 or more years. than retire after helping with the rebuilding efforts.

No, they arn't really made to do anything else but serve

However, I do see them as more "rebuilding earth" than fighting after the war.

I think they'd both take extended time off after ME3, but Ash would likely stay in for awhile. Her career was stalled all but a few years ago, and now she's making progress. Shep wouldn't want her to quit, and I doubt she'd want it either..

My own Shepard is more of a curious case. He's really tired of war and all the crap he had to go through rallying the galaxy to fight the Reapers. He's also seriously injured, and needs time to heal and rest. So, at least an extended vacation. He'll eventually want to serve the public again, but I suspect he'll want to do so in more of a diplomatic role. That might mean staying in the military, or it might not. Either way, he's looking forward to helping to build things and bring people together instead of shooting things and blowing them up.

I think Ash will eventually want to have a family, as well, so that will impact the decisions they make about military life.

Although, I could see them being admirals at some later point in their lives.

perhaps, but they wouldn't really need any tactical skills.

Human/Batarian War, 10 years after the activation of the crucible.
*Human fleet enters space above Khar'shan, the Batarians outnumber the humans 20 to 1*

Batarian Admiral: Haha! Foolish humans, you have just jumped right into a trap!
Batarian Information Officer: Sir, the human fleet is being led by the Shepards!
Batarian Admiral:
All hope is lost! Abandon Khar'Shan!

I can see them becoming "advisers" to both the council and the Alliance. My Shepard is definitely going to retire from the military in the near future if he survives. I'm willing to be he already has some form of PTSD so there's no point adding to that. Whatever path Ash chooses is her own, however.

Just another night on the Normandy:

(Ash and Shepard are preparing for a romantic evening in his quarters)
Shep: Get over here.
Ash: No. You get over here.
*knock at door*
Liara: Hello, Shepard? Do you have time to discuss that project I told you about?

"Javik? Open the airlock. I've had enough of this."

Time to see if plot armour works in a vacuum.

Actually, how could you tell when an asari has asphyxiated?

In my headcanon (which I may or may not have posted 42738 pages ago, I forget), I had Shepley retiring to Eden Prime, where they first met, to rebuild.

But I could also see them continuing to serve until they're old and gray, like both their families (my Ashmance is a Spacer).

Also, what kind of mess would the Human media get thrown into if humanity's greatest F-up family, the Williamses, merged via marriage with the family of galactic saviors, the Shepards. Heads would explode!

Shepard: Yeah, come on in Dr. I have an experiment we can partake in!
Ashley: Yeah...no, let me know when you are done here Shepard, i'll be down in the mess.
*Door closes, Liara looking baffled*

Shepard: Should have saw that coming...

I think it'd be hard for the media to get past "our first two spectres are banging each other....."

I think Khalisah would have a reason to fear for her life if she did report on any of it. I don't think Ash would be as tame as Shepard.

Doesn't need to be. ;)

Even Allers knows of Shepard's "history" with reporters...

Edit:
Have a looksie at this as well.

What do you all make of it?

Yeah, Ash strikes me as someone who is hostile towards the press. The moment that camera turned towards Ash, she'd say "Get that camera out of my face", shoot the camera, and then subdue Al-Jilani. (for any of you who playedd Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction back in the days)

But, it would be kinda funny to see the wrath of Sheply come down on Allers.
