Ah. The days when the writers knew completely what to do with Ash.

I still think her romance was the most well developed and best implimented in ME1. It was still very good in ME3, but there wasn't enough of it, and after she becomes part of the squad, she starts to feel more like a background character.

ME1 ashley is always going to be my favorite. But I'm doing a tali run and she's just handled so much better in me2 and me3 it's not even funny.

I imagine it's because she has a writer that cares about her, and ashley's writer left when ea bought the company.

Grissom Academy expires with the attempted coup. Sometimes it expires before that, since you have a time limit with that one.

Wait too long, and everyone there dies. Eventually you'll find out that Jack was turned into one of the Reapers' monsters.

Thought I'd post this, since I hadn't read it in awhile.

This e-mail is what kept my canon Shepard faithful to Ash in ME2. After reading it, he had hope they could get back together again.

That last line - "I can't lose you a second time" - is kind of painful, now.

I'm sorry for what I said back on Horizon. When I lost you two years ago, it tore me up. I prayed for you every day. I read a lot of Tennyson, thinking about you, just like I did when my dad passed. I don't know what's true anymore. Part of me can't believe it's really you. I keep going back to that night before Ilos, our night... I haven't let myself think about those memories in over a year.

I wouldn't have expected you to work for Cerberus, but I know why they sent you to Horizon. I saw how many people were lost there, and if anyone can stop the Collectors, you can. I can't go where you're going, but I can wish you luck.

Just stay alive out there... Skipper. I don't know what the future holds, but I can't lose you a second time.

Yeah the VS/Shepard pairing is incredibly tragic. They don't lose shepard once, but twice. getting their goodbye is also incredibly tear inducing because THEY do an interrupt on Shepard and bring them back for a kiss before they leave to go see anderson. *shakes fist at wirters*

Yeah.

I just can't handle the ending. I mean, I agree about the plot hole stuff, but, truth be told, I could handle that crap if there were only some way for Shepard to make it back to Ash. Not even having an option to get around the depressing ending, even with a lot of work, is just... it doesn't feel like Mass Effect to me. In the past, no matter how depressing things got, you could at least have that triumphant ending if you put the work into it and did everything right.

It's more or less why I've just retreated to my head canon ending.

This is one of the reasons why I stayed faithful to her. I also just think Ashley is a more interesting character. I honestly don't get why everyone is so obessed with Liara and Tali...I mean to each their own but I feel like Ashley never gets the respect or appreciation she deserves.

I think the first time I played ME2, I was leaning toward a relationship with Miranda after Horizon, just because it felt like Shepard's relationship with Ash was over.

Then I read that e-mail, and Miranda had no chance with Shepard at all.

Yeah the endings really take the sails out of Mass Effect. relays blow up and your crew (and love interest) are stranded far away from you should you choose destroy and get the "breathe" cutscene. Kaidan and Ashley even say hey can't lose you again, and they do. Thought Kaidan has a message on the Ipad app after the ending where he says the doctors will let him see Shepard in the hospital in a few days which gives hope that Shepard survived and they made it off gilligans planet.

The way I see it is that both are Shepard fangirls. Anything Shepard says or wants is golden and they're submissive to him/her. Ash, on the other hand, will call Shepard out on his/her BS. Some people don't like it when others question Shepard's authority.

Really?....the Mass Effect Datapad app? Or an app for just the iPad? I never got a message like that

As for the ending: I know for a fact Ashley told me that she couldn't lose me again, so why in gods name did she leave me? It doesn;t make sense, it goes against everything Ashley told me up until that point. I hope the Extended Cut expands on what happened to her and I hope its good and not just some short crappy text on screen.

Oh, and adding on to my recent post, Tali has "dem hips" and for some reason people are just into blue aliens in the 21st century. (just look at James Cameron's Avatar back in December 2009)

I wish I could smack my Shepard around for trusting Cerberus.* What makes Ash my favorite character is that she's willing to stand up to him, and that she stays true to her own values, and her duty to the Alliance military.

Although Edwin Shepard was a little mad after Horizon, he came to feel the same way. He actually respects her more for the fact that she wouldn't abandon her duties with the Alliance. It's one of the reasons he's so patient with her and so willing to work to regain her trust in ME3 - he actually kinda thinks, in many ways, he was the one who was "in the wrong" on Horizon, by asking Ash to essentially go AWOL and join up with a terrorist group.

*Though, I guess in fairness, any chance he got he did say he was working "with them" not "for them." And he did tell Tali that he "fully expected" them to turn on him.

Thats what makes this feel like a real relationship. It has its ups and downs and some of the issues are extremely big but Ashley and Shepard pull through. If that isn't true love then I don't know what is lol.

I think so. Grissom is on disc 2 (same disk as the coup) so she might have some lines.

Yeah, I think they have to have banter for everyone on every mission, hopefully some modding could find out.

I can see it now, jack comes up kissing shepard, right infront of ashley. When you haven't even told jack you were back with ash lol.
