Relax - visiting and sitting for 100 pages in thread dedicated to one particular character, even while saying you like her...

Here you have mine:
Dear Bioware,
my primary character Jacob Shepard fell for Ashley
in the very first minute in the game. He saw a strong woman, still
fighting although her squad was killed – Ash was the last survivor.
Losing the 212th left a mark on her, one of many parts of her character.
Her character, one of the deepest in Mass Effect 1, was challenging. My
Shepard felt a bit offended by her comments towards aliens but when he
learned more about Ashley's past, he understood. Ashley was no racist,
but a woman distrusting everyone until they proved to be trustworthy.
Over
the time in ME1, he explored more and more of her character. She loved
poetry, spoke her mind freely and felt incredible tempting and flirty.
Not knowing she also had feelings for him quite from the beginning, she
felt challenging to him. I'm not sure if Ashley knew about her feelings
that early – or if she was ready to allow them to unfold to a full blown
love.
After getting grounded, Ashley supported Shepard and almost
told him about her feelings. This was a risk since regulations didn't
allow fraternization between a superior officer and a soldier in the
same chain of command. Especially for Ashley it was difficult since her
name was already tainted by her grandfather's surrender at the Battle of
Shanxi in the First Contact War.
When they stole the Normandy SR1,
Ashley felt it was the right moment to confess her love, knowing it
wouldn't make a difference anymore.
Later Ashley told Shepard his
death had broken her heart: unable to move on, she had to bury herself
under a pile of work, had to do a lot of dangerous missions for the
Alliance, ultimately leading her to Horizon two years later – only to
forget. The short, but violent argument left two broken hearts: Shepard,
who had hoped for a reunion and Ashley, who couldn't take the twisting
ways of fate anymore – it felt as if the galaxy was playing a brutal
game with the two lovers.
A while after the mission, Shepard received
a letter from her: she apologized for what she had said on Horizon and
wished the best for him.
And Jacob Shepard stayed faithful. Tali
tried to get his attention and he nearly allowed her to become more than
“just a friend”. But when he remembered the times he had with Ashley,
he decided to not move on.
Before going through the Omega Four Relay,
Shepard spent a moment with looking at Ashley's picture on his desk. He
did a short prayer and hoped he would return to her. Everything he did
so far, was done for Ashley.
After months of waiting on Earth,
Shepard returned to the Normandy and met Ashley again. Their first
mission led them to Mars, where she got critically injured by Eva Core.
Jacob Shepard couldn't do anything to protect her – in this very moment
he swore to do everything to keep Ashley out of harm.
The next weeks
the two lovers had to go different paths: she was recovering on the
Citadel, while Shepard was trying to get as much support as possible.
Before they both reunited again, Shepard witnessed the deaths of two
close friends: Mordin, who had sacrificed himself to save the Krogans
and Thane who died after fighting Kai Leng.
When Ashley returned,
Shepard had hoped they could continue their romance. But Ashley was
silent, cold and distant. All those events had changed her ...
Ignoring
the current endings, I'm not sure if Shepard and Ashley ever talked
about a future together. There are so many questions still open: why is
Ashley so focused on Cerberus? Does her grandfather have something to do
with this? What did Ash in the past two years? And why is Ashley so
cold in the second part of the game?

Hope to rebuild the galaxy, now since the Citadel is gone and the Mass Relays are no more.
We still can hope since we're not alone - Quarians, Geth, Salarians - all are trying to create a new Mass Relay network. Thanks to Matriarch Aethyta all research has been done - now we just need time and enough Eezo ...
But before that day, before the galaxy is united once again, ships like the SSV Normandy SR3 are used to preserve the galactic society. The newest frigate of the Alliance is equiped with an on board Mass Relay, allowing the ship to jump thousands of lightyears within minutes. The Normandy's commanding officer is one of the heroes of the Citadel, second human Spectre and Legend of Earth - Commander Ashley Madeline Williams.

This letter to you regarding Mass Effect 3 is of concerns
about the character and love interest Ashley Williams because no other character
has piqued my interest quite like Ashley.
During the course of the original Mass Effect, the
conversations with her about her family, beliefs, and concerns about the ship/Shepard’s
decisions make her seem like the most realistic character and she reflects actual
human traits to a “T”. Belief in a higher power is one that I hold myself and
thus felt a similarity as there was a personal connection between myself and
the character of Ashley. Another trait is the closeness that Ashley has with
her sisters, something that resembles more of the realism to her character.
Growing up with two other siblings, this was another personal connection that I
was able to make with her character.
After Ashley is brought back aboard the Normandy as
a squadmate in Mass Effect 3, she seems cold and unwillingly to talk to
Shepard. The lack of dialogue between them is disheartening for there are only
three total instances where they truly talk (after the turian bomb mission,
Citadel date, and the actual romance scene) and that after waiting for a
reunion to happen, it didn’t go as I thought it would or it could have. The two
scenes that deal with rekindling the romance were done incredibly well. After
playing the original Mass Effect, the lack of conversation with her makes it
seem “not worth it” in terms of bringing her back aboard other than to have an
extra squadmate and to continue the romance, which is not everything to a
character, especially one such as Ashley because in my opinion, she was unique
from any other character in the series.
At the end of Mass Effect 3, Ashley proclaims to
Shepard that she does not want him to go. This was a gut-wrenching moment for
me, especially after re-kindling the romance with her. It made it seem more
personal than it probably should have been, due to the attachment that has grown
towards the character over the course of three different games. Ashley brings
the idea up to “get it done and go home”. It is my hope that in the future
somehow through DLC, that this idea is brought to life and that Ashley and
Shepard are able to go home together, for the present ending did not produce
this. However, that has not stopped me and other fans of her character from
making our own endings between the two that her character has inspired us to
do.
In all, Ashley’s independence, strength, uniqueness,
realism, and charm factor make her an amazing character and one that has
completely grabbed my attention while playing this series. I believe I speak
for all Ashley fans when I say that more content with her character would be a
most welcome and fully appreciated addition to Mass Effect 3 and perhaps even
beyond.

I took Ash with me because it's easy to find Javik's dialogue on youtube - I bring Ash everywhere to try and get as much dialogue out her as possible, Ashley and Liara were my squad for most missions and I found that Ashley was the one who usually talked out of the two when there was an opportunity, which let me enjoy a particularly hilarious moment during the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery whenShepard starts freaking out about a noise he hears and Ash is like, 'whoops, sorry just me' .whos better to take with you and liara on thessia ashley or javik story wise, i hear he has unique dialogue with the illusive man.
Anyway, basically the difference is that if you bring Ash or another team along to Thessia they will snark about how the Asari goddess looks like a Prothean whereas Javik will confirm that goddess is a Prothean and make various comments about Protheans' interaction with the Asari. Either way Liara will be in denial about the situation.
*off to write an Ash letter, I am surprised so far only 2 have been contributed*
